The rushing water will flow right by your bedroom overlooking the most pristine, undeveloped river in Maine. This is a complete oasis with no one in sight. Complete privacy in the hot tub overlooking the Crooked River. Wall of windows with mirror tint. Hot tub and outdoor shower just outside the front door. Hammocks, to relax in or hiking trails to discover right out the front door. Enjoy at-home yoga or massage in the yoga shed overlooking the river.

The bed is raised up so you will awake to overlook the waterfalls and rushing water in the river. This is a restored home from the ground up with all new everything! Set up with coffee, soaps, and everything you will need for a romantic trip. We offer in-home massage, chef, and yoga classes at the property. Swinging chairs overlooking the floor-to-ceiling windows for the most relaxing time. Totally one of a kind see-through fireplace that looks over the river. We restored the original floors, the original door which seems to be from an old ship and we were able to save the picture window inside. Everything else is brand new. The bathroom is tastefully designed, stand-up shower with Jean Tiles and natural pebbles.

Other features include an Outdoor Shower overlooking the river, Large gas range for cooking. On-demand hot water for long warm showers and a heated bathroom floor.
The house is very private.

This place was so wonderful! The view was absolutely unreal especially as it snowed most of the time we were there. The fireplace, hot tub, windows, privacy... all of it! I cannot tell you how great it was to have such solitude and peace! It was so cozy. There was a TV with streaming service but no DVD player in case you want to bring movies, you should pack your own player. The kitchen also had all the necessities for a weekend away and we really appreciated the pots, pans, full stove, etc, as we brought all we needed to cook our meals so we never had to leave! We brought our own oil and spices but there was salt and pepper available in case you forget. We had some beautiful deer show up right outside one day!We did need our 4 wheel drive on the way out because it snowed a lot over the long weekend we were there, but they did plow the driveway. It was honestly only for some of the side roads making it back to the highway. But should be no problem at all if you're used to northern winters. Side note... I'm not sure why skiing feedback is a required question in the review process.. just fyi, we didn't ski and there wasn't any ski gear.

Weekend Getaway

Had a wonderful relaxing fall weekend. The location was perfect with the river flowing in the background, the home is warm and cozy. The glass window marked with previous visitors notes is a really nice touch. The dining room table is amazing too. Definitely would recommend! 5 stars

Was looking forward to fire place, but wasn’t working, Outside of that I could live there forever. People in town are amazing, and I recommend doing the main st treasure hunt. Totally worth it. And the bruschetta pizza at Norway pizza exchange.

Magical

We stayed for our 15 year anniversary and it was the perfect quiet, private, relaxing, tranquil spot to enjoy a few days together. We loved being so close to the river, the hot tub, outdoor shower, hummingbird feeder on the window next to the bed, and exploring the area. Make sure to do the short hike up Hawk Mountain to see the view of the lakes and mountains in the distance, and go to Cafe Nomad downtown Norway. We also liked 290 Main for dinner and desperately wanted to go to Dolce Amici for gelato but kept missing them when they were open. The Woods is a great little store, as is Fiber & Vine if you love knitting and wine, and Handmade Maine for gifts.

The Perfect Intimate & Relaxing Getaway

This was by far the most relaxing, calming, and peaceful getaway we have yet to experience. The home was immaculate, as was the hot tub, and the yoga studio. Jonathan provided everything one needs to cook in the kitchen (pots, pans, spices, coffees, teas) and feel like you are at home. The swings were the perfect place to enjoy our morning cup of coffee/tea while chatting, reading a book, or just staring at the incredibly peaceful river flowing. We hiked the trail off the main road and eventually ended up along the Crooked River. We did not venture off the property other than to hike, as it was not necessary. I worked out every morning in the yoga studio after a run and it was perfect. The free weights, bench, and kettle bells were ideal and I was able to get all the exercise I needed while there. The bed mattress and pillows are beyond comfortable and better than 5-star hotels! Jonathan is a tentative host and replies to any questions immediately. This is absolutely a 5+star VRBO and we will be back. Cheers to 2023! Much Love, Kelly & Ali (Maine/Connecticut)
