This getaway home borders thousands of acres of raw untouched lands in Captain Cook Park, which abounds with recreational opportunities. Simply walk out the door for a true nature hike in the woods, along streams and lakes in a vast expanse of wilderness. Fishing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, beach combing, cross-country skiing, snowmachine riding and so much more! Public boat launch nearby. Explore the shoreline of Cook Inlet, which boasts the second largest tides in the world. Stunning views of the Northern Lights in winter is also a magnificent opportunity which is frequently enjoyed.
The home has comfortable sleeping accommodations for 4 people. The loft sleeping area has a steep ladder access which is not suitable for children, the elderly or individuals with physical limitations. Pre-approval for more than 4 guests is required, with an additional $40/person per day fee.

Amazing home and location

We enjoyed this beautiful home and location, both were perfect! We are already talking about returning next year and won’t even try to find a different home, this one is perfect!

Overall excellent

Beautiful, private location. Attentive hosts that respected privacy. Clean and well-stocked accomidations, great location far away from tourist centers, surprisingly fast wifi for location, and tons of wildlife right out the back deck. I will absolutely be back!

Exceeded Our Expectations!

The cabin sat tranquilly remote on the property with only views of the Alaskan nature. Walking paths were mowed to allow for safe exploring. The lake on the property made for a beautiful backdrop for sunrise pictures. The cabin itself has a well-outfitted kitchen which was helpful since we like to cook our meals in rather than eating out. The queen beds in the loft were very comfortable and we slept well every night. Our hosts respected our privacy and were very responsive to any of our questions. They helped make our stay perfect!

Great peaceful place to stay

Great place off the beaten path in Kenai Pennisula. Quiet and peaceful. Very well equipped. The owners are great. Definitely would recommend.

anniversary get away

clean and in a beautiful setting! Well worth the extra driving to get to. It had everything we needed. The only reason I give 4 stars for representation was I wasn't completely clear that it was a ladder to the loft not stairs. The ladder was just fine and we had no issues getting up and down. Beds were comfortable and would definately stay again.

My wife (Gretchen) and I (Robin) are both lifetime Alaskans, born and raised here in "The Great Land." We have five adult children who are out of the home and each living to build their own lives.
As everyone knows, Alaska is a huge state. Although I’ve not been to every city, town and village, I have been to many of them. Whatever your plans are for relaxation and recreation I hope we can contribute to assisting you in anyway possible. 😎 So please don’t hesitate to reach out to me either texting or phone call at any time. Our house is about 80 yards away from the Northwoods Getaway home. Our intent is to totally respect your privacy and not to interfere with your stay, however we will be available to provide any assistance you need. :-)

In fall, there is great salmon fishing in nearby Swanson River, particularly during August and September each year. Enjoy the beauty of the Northern LIghts (aurora borealis) in winter or go cross-country skiing, snowmachining, snowshoeing or ice fishing.
