Nestled in the scenic Blackfoot Valley, this charming studio cabin/tiny home offers a perfect retreat for outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy world-class fly fishing on the renowned Blackfoot River or the North Fork of the Blackfoot River, hunting, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing at nearby lakes. The Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex is right in your backyard for endless adventure. Traveling with livestock? Corrals are available—please inquire for details. Our little cabin has it all, with a fully functional kitchen with gas stove, refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. A propane fireplace to warm up after playing in the snow. The breath taking views from the windows are hard to beat. Walking distance to the town Ovando with it’s interesting history museum, Blackfoot Angler fishing supplies, the Stray Bullet restaurant and the Blackfoot Commercial which has a little of everything you might need, and also walking distance to Trixi’s Bar & Restaurant.

The cabin was exactly what I expected. It is clean and cozy. Dena and her dog Maggie were both super sweet (she even had fresh scones baked for our arrival). There are horses, mules and chickens on the property that added to the experience. It has beautiful views and was close to the Blackfoot River for fishing. I would highly recommend staying here.

Great stay

We used the cabin as a place to stay during our hunting trip. The cabin was much better than the hunting, unfortunately. Very comfortable and a great relaxing place to stay after a few long days.

Ovando

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Ovando. Our hosts, Bill and Dena were so welcoming and were available to help if needed. We had lots of privacy but also enjoyed the little town. Breakfast was great at The Stray Bullet! We also had a hamburger at Trixies diner that was delicious. All in all we were delighted with the stay.

Great retreat for hunting

My dad, husband and son wanted to go for a quick weekend hunt. We found this cute cabin in ovando and the boys had so much fun. Cribbage was their favorite.

Winter wonderland

Wonderful place to stay in Ovando! Dena is super accommodating and a great at messaging back. The upstairs entry is through a pull down attic style ladder. It worked great for us but might be a tight squeeze to some. Right next to the highway so easy o and out for all your outdoor adventures!

Everything you need and more!

Highly recommend - Owners the nicest people and offered extra help/parts on our long trailer we had! The parking was great! This is sometimes hard to find. Warm bread upon arrival - after a long drive can’t beat that. One of the cleanest/friendliest places you will find. Would definitely stay again.

The Total Package

Welcoming hostess, fresh scones, farm fresh eggs, well-appointed cabin with everything you need, immaculately clean, great shower, and the list of positive attributes could go on. Even though we were there to fish, we could have happily spent the day sitting on the glider on the front porch enjoying the property, farm animals and hosts. This property reminds us of the early days of bed & breakfasts when the hosts really cared about their guests experience. It is really clear that Dena cares about her guests! We will definitely book again.

My Love Affair with Montana

I grew up coming to Ovando to visit and be as much a part of my connection to ancenstry ....close to where my Great Grandfather homesteaded. This location and genuine hospitality of a safe and classy craft home represented every part of my first memories as a boy...mixes in with 21st century convenience. The kindly and thoughtful percs far outdid anything I ever experienced in my global tavels. HIGHY RECOMMENDED!!

Over the top in Ovando!

We have stayed at a good number of VRBO's across the country and must say this is the best appointed and quite possibly the cleanest one we have stayed at! Bill and Dena were outstanding hosts and provided extras (warm scones and fresh eggs!) that were not in the property description but that truly exhibit the small-town Montana hospitality. It is an extremely well thought out use of space and functionality. We usually always come over prepared and this time didn't need half of what we brought as we had all we needed and then some. Based right in Ovando it is close to amenities, but quiet and private enough to enjoy a weekend away. Enjoyed the Superbowl at Trixi's just up the hill and met a good number of locals that welcomed in just as if we lived there. Great snowmobile base in the winter, hunting in the fall, rafting/fishing base camp in the summer, or just passing through. We would highly recommend this to anyone we know and will definitely stay there again when in the area. Thanks for going above and beyond in making it a great weekend escape for my wife and I, as well as accomodating our two small dogs!

We have lived in Ovando for most of our lives, we enjoy camping, fishing and horseback riding. Spending time in the mountains of Montana is our favorite pastime. Winters are long in Montana so we spend as much time outdoors as possible all summer.

The cabin is walking distance from Ovando and Trixi’s the famous bar/restaurant in town. Also close to numerous trailheads to access the Bob Marshall Wilderness. The cabin was our COVID project, the first major thing we have ever built. It is a cozy little cabin in our little slice of heaven. We have made this cabin a special place to stay.
