Magical equestrian private ranch in the heart of Santa Ynez wine country offering romantic getaways, family animal ranch experiences for all ages, or wine getaway weekends. The 10 acre Lone Sheep Ranch includes a lovely newly remodeled 3BDR/2.5BR home on a formerly famous equestrian estate with views of horses and farm animals in all directions. The ranch is 1 mile from downtown Santa Ynez and just a few minutes from Downtown Solvang.

Kids can learn to gather eggs from our chickens, visit with pet pigs, and learn appreciation for ranch life. Adults can enjoy a private jacuzzi, a glass of wine in one of the many outdoor sitting areas, or sit around the fire and enjoy the stars in the quiet surroundings. The ranch is walking distance from many fine restaurants and perfect biking distance from dozens of famous valley wineries. This flat valley surrounded by mountains is a biking and hiking paradise.

For pilots, we are 1 mile from Santa Ynez Airport (KIZA), and free shuttle and courtesy car may be available with prior arrangement.

Activities range from the simply enjoying the quiet country life with a glass of wine to possible animal interactions or adrenaline full adventures with seasonal glider rides, hot air balloon rides, mountain biking , and all levels of hiking and nature walks. The beach is 38 minutes away and offers all types of ocean/ water activities.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the property and the inherent risks of exposure to ranch animals liability waivers are REQUIRED for all stays. 12% County Tax already included in price. No extra fee.

This was a really spectacular property! The hosts were so kind and walked around the property with us,, introducing us to the farm animals. Everything you could possibly want or need was there. Close to Santa Ynez and Solvang for outings. Highly recommend this place!!

Wonderful Wine Country Stay with Family

Lone Sheep Ranch exceeded all expectations, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay! Beautiful home and ranch, with close access to nearby Los Olives, Solvang, and Santa Ynez. Clean, comfortable with 3 large bedrooms that more than met the needs of the 5 of us staying. We highly recommend, and will definitely be back to stay again.

A perfect get-away

Gorgeous stay, perfect for the family!

Susan did such an amazing job helping us get settled in. We were visiting for my mother in laws 73rd birthday, the house was perfect for the family. We all fit with more than enough space and there were a lot of great touches that made the stay even more perfect. The property itself is beyond gorgeous and theres so many awesome farm pals around to visit! I would highly recommend this space for anyone to visit!

This home is stunningly beautiful and very clean/well maintained. The property is lovely and we really enjoyed all of the animals we were able to meet. The location is also fantastic. Magical weekend getaway

We loved our stay here. The hosts were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. They spent time talking to us about the ranch and letting us pet all the animals. Also, the ranch is so close to both Santa Ynez and Los Olivos town. recommend to anyone looking to spend some time wine tasting or to families looking to have an animal farm experience.

Magical Ranch Experience

Enchanting visit at a fantastic location. Accomodations were perfect - spotless and comfortable. Surrounded by animals - sheep, pigs, cats, and dogs. Visiting with the horses was a wonderful plus in a beautiful ranch surrounding. The owner was just marvelous when we arrived an always available for us. We cant wait for our next visit.

Such a great experience. The property manager/owners were so friendly and accomodating. The interaction with the animals was truly a highlight. The house was set up perfect for the 6 people we had. Girls Weekend

The house and property was amazing. Comfortable beds, immaculately clean. Centrally located to restaurants and wineries. Susan stocked the refrigerator with basic food items. That was an unexpected surprise. This is a repeat booking for any occasion. Loved being surrounded by horses, pigs greeting us and of course Smokey the sheep!

Beautiful Farmhouse - Definitely Coming Back!!

We had an amazing stay at Lone Sheep. The rooms were spacious and had comfy beds! The open floor plan was great for all of us to gather around for a glass of wine. We didn't get you to use the jacuzzi but definitely will next time! I would recommend this stay to anyone interested in going to the Santa Ynez or Los Olivios area! Thank you again!

Impeccable hospitality!

We had a wonderful time on our stay at Lone Sheep Ranch. The owners were lovely hosts - so welcoming, friendly, and easy to communicate with. The house was perfect. Well equipped and appointed, tastefully decorated, light, airy, comfortable. Our whole group (teens through grandparents) were pleased. The ranch itself is a beautiful setting and so fun to have all the animals around. We couldn't have been happier.

A wonderful experience!

This property is very special. The location is fantastic. The owners are so welcoming and helpful. The house is perfect - well-furnished, comfortable, clean and charming. The hot tub provided a welcome respite at the end of each day. The kids will remember their interactions with the sweet animals (especially the pigs) for years to come! Wine Country with Friends

Alex and Susan exceeded our expectations! The house was extremely clean and very thoughtfully furnished with everything we needed to enjoy our stay, including a well stocked refrigerator. They also provided us with fresh eggs from their chickens. They both took their time to make sure that our encounter with their animals was fabulous. Alex and Susan are truly gracious hosts. We highly recommend the Lone Sheep Ranch!!
