Shortcomings in the space but helpful in other ways

The housing was older than described, there was holes in the walls and torn furniture, and there was a huge bug that was on the pillow of one of the beds. We had a great time with the pool and appreciated the massive support from the house associate. And thankfully we outsourced a chef (which we had to pay an unknown additional fee to have assist us) because when the power went out for the morning through the early afternoon, he was able to figure out how to prepare meals with stovetop only.

Good propery poorly maintained

Good neighborhood. The closest store is 5 minutes/ $4 away by taxi. The house is spacious which was important for our group of 8. Each room has its own bathroom. Pool is a plus. However, it's not easy to cook there. A simple thing like matches would be great to have (a cigarette lighter was provided instead which is not safe). The hot water in the showers was very sporadic. The maintenance guy comes very quickly if help is needed (so good service).

VERY DISAPPOINTED !!

Photos & descriptions are not accurate of what we encountered. This is a good space & has potential to be very lucrative. But it needs EXTENSIVE updating & repairs. Hardly anything worked correctly. No handrails on steep steps. Cannot tell how steep steps are from a picture! Owner was informed that we are a group of senior ladies (60-80 years). Stove top works, oven does not, w/o lighting something. We seniors didn't feel comfortable bending down, to look for a gas source to light the oven. We expected the knobs to work! Electric oven on the kitchen counter cooks EXTREMELY slow. Light switches are located in inconspicuous spots (like behind the bed in the primary bedroom). We held a contest to see who can guess where the switches are!!! We had to request the pool be cleaned. And not much we could do about the numerous missing tiles in the pool! Showers do not fully function, only the overhead sprays that are so thick with calcium build up that water squirts in different directions, with NO water pressure at all! Inside dishwater bottom is full of rust. Lower level bedroom smells musty & large amount of sunlight can be seen from under the door. Asked owner to compensate us for things not working to capacity, but he refused by saying he sent maintenance man each time we asked. Who feels like dealing w/ repairs everyday while on vacation? We do that at our own homes !!!!! We feel ripped off because this !!!! We didn't ask for all of our money back and he still said NO.
