The house is cozy and has its own character. We enjoyed the location close to the lake and to Clear Lake Downtown, just a few minutes drive.

This lovingly-updated home is an absolute gem! Steps from the lake and PM Park, the home combines the charm and nostalgia of grandma’s farm house with the modern conveniences of a newer home. The open kitchen and screened-in porch invites a family to gather for board games, meals and coffee in the morning. When I sent pictures of the home to a family member that couldn’t join us, she had a similar observation to ours: “right out of a storybook,” “so cozy, very ‘home-sweet-home’”. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely hope to return again someday.

Clear Lake Getaway

There were four of us who stayed in this rental. The house is special in that it is 100 years old, which means it has alot of charm. It also comes with some unique quirks. For example, it's a two story and if you stay, you'll experience a lot of creaks and groans as you walk across the second floor. Not a negative - just sharing. The house itself was well stocked with items you would expect, but we were very surprised at the cleanliness. We paid a lot for this rental (our opinion) and all felt the rental should have been immaculate. There were dead flies in the bathroom, which at first was no big deal. But then we found dead bugs in a bedroom, and lots of cobwebs in lower level bedroom area (which also smelled very musty). One of us pulled out a towel and a huge spider jumped out. One of the bathrooms was so gross that several did not want to use it. Finally, there were ants in the kitchen area which we noticed as we were leaving. The owner needs to improve insect control and invest in a deep clean, then maintain that between rentals. On the positive, again, great charm. The house is in a fantastic location and there is a cute tiki bar just steps away. The beds were comfortable and linens were nice. We had issues with the ventilation upon arrival, and owner was super responsive to our questions and we figured it out.Thank you Brett for sharing your charmer with us and I know you'll be diligent in making some improvements for those who choose to rent.

Great stay!

This place was great! Comfy beds with lots of pillows. Extra fans which came in handy with the hot weather. Plenty of towels and supplies! Suggestions would be more refrigerator space, better lighting in the dark, open basement, and parking info since only 2 cars fit in driveway.

Family vacation

All good except open stairs with a 2 1/2 year old were a bit of a worry and a challenge because that is where, of course, he wanted to climb. Great kitchen set up for family meals and game time.

Great Location

This lake cottage is adorable! We loved getting up in the mornings and walking around the quaint neighborhood with a lake view.The neighbors who were seemingly property owners were extremely cordial. Downtown Clear Lake, a quick little ride, is adorable with a splash pad, a little beach area and lakefront walking path. While leaving town on Sunday morning many people gathered for an outdoor Sunday worship service in the park with live music, same area in downtown.
