Graduation Weekend

Our son had two different graduation ceremonies at Fort Moore. The cottage was a perfect location and fit for our needs. We enjoyed our evenings sitting on the porch watch all the wildlife in the pond. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Words can’t describe how much I loved my stay. It was private, homey, comfortable, clean, affordable, and downright magical. Sitting next to the lake at night was peaceful. I saw a number of folks fishing, too; how fun! If I’m ever in the area, I won’t settle for staying anywhere else.

Saved by the community!

VRBO lost our booking - so when we showed up to check in they had no record of us coming. When I tell you how wonderful everyone was, getting the place ready, taking care of us and making us feel at home in the meantime! We thought we just had a place to crash, we found a lovely community.

We enjoyed our stay. It’s a cute little cabin. It’s need of a good deep cleaning. The sheets were stained end there was grass and debris all over the sheets. Clearly, the sheets weren’t changed or washed.We were a late arrival so couldn’t notify management until the next morning. They did bring us new sheets after we notified them. Overall satisfied with the stay.

A sweet, peaceful getaway.

A small community of cottages. Many are occupied by renters. I had a lovely experience with the folks there. Cottage was fresh and clean. New linens. I would sit on the porch in the evening, drink wine and listen to the water fountain while watching ducks swim by. It was very peaceful which was just wat i wanted. Ms. Brittany went above and beyond to make my stay perfect. I believe there is another cottage available...so bring your friends.

Small A Frame Cabin

Well to start off the lake is more of a pond. But that doesn’t really reflect on the place that much. It appears that most of the other tiny homes are lived in all the time. It’s not a terrible place but it is like a trailer park with cabins. The place was ok clean and I’m not picky but there was long hair on the sofa and candy bar wrappers between the cushions. There was just barely a few pieces left on the toilet paper roll and the toilet paper hanger was falling out of the wall. Same for the towel rack. The floors were kind of clean but not great. It was an ok place to stay. And I never could get the Wi-Fi to connect. I’m sure once upon a time these were nice tiny homes but they have seen their better days.

Miscommunication

Arrived to the cottage and there were no codes or keys available. No one at check in to help us with the cabin. I had to call vrbo helpline as we couldn’t get anyone to help. VRBO cancelled our reservation and refunded our money, but we had to find other accommodation for the week. Eventually heard from the campground and they said the booking was made in error, although we had all the booking records and directions to the property. Not sure who was at fault, but it was very frustrating, late at night and not being able to check in.

The outside was great by the water. Quiet and peaceful! When I walked in, it looked fine. There were lots of air fresheners, which made me think they were trying to cover up a bad smell. The floor was very dirty and had a lot of debris, so I got the vacuum out. But it didn't work and smelled like urine. The rugs had a lot of stuff on them. Definitely bring slippers or shoes to wear inside. I kept slippers on. There was a dead bug in the couch cushion. The ceiling fan had an inch of dust hanging off of it. One of the coffee pots had left over coffee in the filter that was moldy. There was a cup in the fridge with something in it. No paper towels or napkins were provided, so i had to use tissues or wash cloths to clean up. Someone in a cottage near me was smoking weed and i could smell it while i was outside. The porch had huge spider webs, so i had to sit in the driveway on the chair that I brought. I totally understood there are going to be bugs outside, but a quick sweep by the owner would have been nice. Good things.. the AC worked great. The bed was very comfortable. The hot water got very hot. I booked this weekend getaway just to relax and have a mental break. I was able to do both. But this place has a lot of potential, so I hope the owner can fix it up for future guests.
