Great curb appeal, turn around driveway and backyard. Enjoy a nice cool central air. Very spacious yellow sunflower themed living room to promote happiness, optimism, enlightenment, creativity and sunshine. A game room with air hockey table and card games for entertainment. Beautiful spacious dining room with antique table and chairs that seats 6 guests. Great size kitchen with a red color theme to promote passion and energy. Has a pub to seat 2 guests, coffee bar, microwave and toaster. Large master bedroom with a king size memory foam bed and a grey color theme to promote neutrality and balance. Also has an office attached with lots of windows. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin memory foam beds with a turquoise sea like color theme to promote a refreshing, uplifting, creative and cheerful mood. The 3rd bedroom has 1 full size memory foam bed with a navy blue color theme for calmness, serenity, importance and unity. 1 full size bathroom with essentials upstairs and half bathroom downstairs. Basement is for laundry only!

Very clean, cozy and comfortable. Dishwasher not working and could use a kettle. A lot of space to hang out. Nice neighborhood to walk the dogs, and convenient for shopping.

Our stay was delightful, big spacious house, full kitchen with all utensils, large 3 bedrooms, plenty of parking, game room, and laundry. Would definitely stay again.

We never spent much time other than sleeping and showering at the house. The house is spacious and seemed to have all the needed amenities. The furnishings could use updating to class it up a little but the rental price is very reasonable. Travis, the host was in constant touch to see if we needed anything and really wanted to make sure that our stay was comfortable. I would surely stay there again if visiting the area again.

It was a comfortable stay, we simply used it to sleep in due to our busy schedule. We found the spare washroom funny and all had to try it out. The house has a unique charm about it.

Stressful communication

Leading up to our stay at this property, there was zero communication. Traveling 10 hours with two dogs, it would’ve been nice to get an email the day before saying we would be set for our stay. I was stressed out questioning if we were going to be able to get into the property or if there was going to be some kind of issue. I Had to reach out the morning of Checkin. At that point the host responded a couple hours later saying he would send checkin information shortly. Check information arrived 25 minutes before we were due to check in. Property was not cleaned well, a ton of toxic glade plug-ins still didn’t cover up the smell of musty basement. The location of the property was nice though. We vacation a lot and this is the first time we would not use the same property a second time.

House was typical old house in Elmira. Nice for what we needed. My biggest complaint was not hearing from host until 6 hours before check-in. I like to be better prepared than that.

Property review West Elmira

Great location. Only really one usable bathroom. Washing machine and dryer a little sketchy. Kitchen supplies inadequate. Luckly my sister lived nearby. There were only 3 forks. Pot and pans were mostly abused nonstick cookware with flaking forever chemicals likely incorporated into your food. There were a good amount of spices and condiments which was nice. The price was very reasonable and if not for the kitchen supplies, I'd recommend.

Great little place near Dunn Field and town.

Owner was very accommodating with great communication. Place was clean and neat with all essentials needed. Even came with a beautiful wild doe and bunny to watch out the kitchen window, while sipping coffee. Would definitely rent again.

I liked the historic nature of this home. It was in a nice area, with good parking, lots of space. We saw a deer on the property while we there. There was a game room, which was nice. I was disappointed that the microwave and refrigerator were not all the way clean, which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Adequate for a one-night stay

This house was a good option for our family of 5 to stay for one night. Pros: Plenty of space for 5 people. Comfortable beds. Plenty of towels and linens available. Safe and quiet location. All appliances worked. A nice variety of spices and other food in the kitchen, Easy check in. Cons: The "half bath" downstairs consisted of a toilet in poor condition in a tiny closet with no working light or sink, which made it completely useless. The toilet in the main bath needs to be tightened because the entire toilet rocked. The kitchen utensils were very sparse. Only one fork???

Its a cute house with potential. Would have been nice to have chairs to sit outside. The coffee pot had old grounds dried and caked inside so we couldn’t use it. Host was contacted 3x for the entry code before finally providing 30 minutes after check in.

Old Bones West Elmira Home

I will be very upfront right away. The house itself is great for the price. It is off a one way street in a good part of town and it is far enough in “nature” we had a deer family visit daily as well as a rabbit. My issues I have gotten ahold of the host about but read some other reviews for an insight. I just hope even if they are busy they communicate better and work on these. There is a smart tv in every bedroom and the living room which is nice! Extra fans for moving air upstairs because it is a very large house so it’s hard for the ac (but not awful) to do its job up there. To anyone not used to it, the basement is “spooky” but well lit, do not overload the washer as it will bang. There is a game room where sadly the air hockey table has seen better days but they have table top games as well, even spotted a more “adult” one in the dining room on top the china cabinet which was humoring. Being located in west Elmira you have a nice access to getting to big flats via the “back roads” (careful in the winter time) Harris hill is a great destination spot to see the over look as well if you’re wanting some sightseeing and Tanglewood trails are great to hike, the nature center is fun as well! Being used to homes like this and a native to Elmira, I was content for the price we paid and what we got. The kids were happy and we had a safe place to sleep, eat and relax when not seeing my family and what more can you ask for at 100$ a night.

Great Energy

The house was not as clean as depicted and the cooking pans were in bad shape. Despite this, I liked this home. There was something about it that felt very welcoming. My family enjoyed our time, sitting at the table eating, playing games, and laughing. There was a book with the need-to-know info and more. I recommend this house and host.
