Farmstead home w/hot tub

Come appreciate nature on a rural country farm! You'll be staying in a homely brick farm house with a fully equipped kitchen perfect to make a family meal (utensils, pots, pans, toaster, dual coffee maker, crockpot, etc.). House includes a cozy family room w/ an electric fireplace and 52" smart TV., three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, & a dining area! Relax in the new 6 person hot tub and take in the stars and fresh air. Minutes from the World Shooting Recreational Complex and Sparta, IL.

This farm is active and has busy seasons but we will respect your privacy and plan accordingly for the days you arrive and are visiting the property.
You’ll be staying in a comfy homely ranch style house with three bedrooms, each with their own closet space to get suitcases out of the way and make it feel even more like home!

The home is on a full basement which is not accessible to guests. The doors will be locked to the basement. Otherwise, the full upstairs and part of the garage are for you to use!

We live down the road. Any questions or concerns we are easily available and we are happy to assist!

We started a short term rental in 2020 that is very successful for our area! We aren’t a destination vacation but we love hosting and providing a nice getaway for families, couples, friends, and anyone looking to get away from the busy every day hustle of life. This homestead is on our farm and is connected to a different property with a 6 acre private lake and another small acre lake and wooded area. Totaling 60 acres you are able to enjoy! Walk around and enjoy the nature of our farm and property. There are 2 RV/Camper spots on the opposite side of the machine shed as well as a "Coming Soon" home that will also be a short term rental. We have amazing plans for this home and the other property so please be sure to check back for updates!

Hot tub use is not guaranteed. Hot tub rules are strictly enforced (posted at house), this is to maintain an amazing experience for each guest.
No smoking or vaping inside the home. $200 fine will be charged if it is found the guests did. Clean up butts from outside, do not throw in yard.

This was our second stay in one their homes. We come out from Pennsylvania to visit family and their homes are always so welcoming, comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend if looking to stay in Marissa.

Quick get-away

We enjoyed a girls night with our grandmother for her 80th birthday, and found the location very clean and modern. The hot tub was a great bonus and everything worked perfectly for our small group! We enjoyed our stay.

Second stay

We stayed here for the second time about a month apart. We are very pleased with the house and it provided exactly what we needed at a location that was convenient for us. We really enjoy watching the deer as they pass by across the road. We really look forward to coming here again. Thank you

Work trip

Stayed at this location with two other coworkers. We have larger work trucks, so the large driveway made it easy to accommodate our vehicles. The house itself is spacious with a nice front area to hang out and watch shows. Host was very kind and responsive when any communication was needed.

Quiet place in the country

We arrived Friday night, the description was spot on, the house was pretty well stocked with everything you’d need. The place was clean and everything was nice. We just needed a place to stay for the weekend and it was perfect for a family of 4. Rebecca was very responsive to messages and her husband Derek was helpful with information about the property. We are planning on coming back in June and hopefully many more times when we are in the area. I even got to hear the turkey’s gobble early Sunday morning!

This was one of the best VRBO's we have stayed at, and we have stayed at alot. Any amentity you would want they provided. All the rooms ( bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms) were spotless. Hotub was a great amentity on a cool fall night. Travelers tip: We always bring a good roll of toilet paper because it never fails that the VRBO owners skimp on this important detail! Never had to break it out. High end TP. Alot to do within a 30 mile radius of the home. We had an awesome stay for our anniversary. A

Nice home

We were in town for a family reunion. This home was clean and nicely furnished. I am in a wheelchair, and this home was perfect for me with the exception of the bed in the master suite. This bed was far too high for me to get into, however, another beedroom work just fine. We enjoyed our stay and hope to use it again in the future.

I’ve been to their home twice now. They provide every essential you need. It’s quiet and peaceful. They provide board games to entertain the family. I recommend the hot tub at night, I’m pretty sure you can see every star in the sky. Even the power plant across the field provides a cool landscape.

AWESOME PLACE!!!

This property was in the farmlands of Southern Illinois. It was a beautiful location and beautiful scenery! I am from the area so I knew places to go and things like that but the hostess had a list of places to go as well. The house was immaculate and the decorations were Farmhouse related. The hot tub was awesome and the back deck was as well. We saw the house cat in the evening and some deer in the edges of the field. This place was so awesome that I can't even make any recommendations she even had body wash, shampoo and conditioner in each of the bathrooms!

Hi there! Thank you for looking at our farmstead! This was Derek's grandparents home and farm. Since we have such success and joy hosting with our other property since 2020 we decided to share this house with others!

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

Marissa is a quiet small town with a couple restaurants and gas stations but less than 15 minutes to a small city (Sparta, IL) where you can do shopping or enjoy dinner at the local restaurants. We are also close to the World Shooting Complex and Recreation. Throughout the area there are different wineries and parks or if you want to travel a bit further we are about 30 minutes from Belleville, IL or 50 minutes from St. Louis, MO. Something in particular you are looking to do, send me a message and I will be happy to answer any questions! We hope you decide to book with us and let our house give you the relaxation you deserve!

This home has a new 6 person Bullfrog hot tub with bluetooth speakers to enjoy right off the back patio. The rural night sky is amazing at night and sometime you can catch wildlife in the surrounding fields. Down the lane there is a 6 acre lake (not stocked yet) and also a smaller acre pond that is great for fishing!
