Our stay at Curtis's property was great. The house was very comfortable and had lots of nice additions to enjoy during our stay. Curtis is a great host who responds in a timely manner. We would definitely stay here again!

Big wide open space with the opportunity for several outdoor activities. Property was well maintained and clean. Would recommend this property and next time I need a rental in this area I would not hesitate to book it again. Last minute extension to our stay was accommodated by the host with no complaints even though he had a tight window to clean the property before his next rental check-in. That earned him another star rating in my book.

The property is amazing and very peaceful. The hot tub, grounds are amazing. The kids had fun with the mini golf, playset, ping pong and fire. I wish we had more time to explore the trails. The is NOT a swimmable property. The algae and muck were disgusting. The kayaks and SUP were fun, but, I had to clean them up for 30 minutes prior to using them. The kitchen has very few items, and nearly zero ceramic or glass dishes(all plastic). They were almost no bowls and very few kitchen items.. I highly suggest that the kitchen be completely revamped to be a functional kitchen with adequate dishes, utensils, and accessories, and if you plan to rent for 12 people seriously get a lot more stuff. I also highly recommend a dishwasher and not even having a dish rack to dry dishes was a little bit ridiculous (I went and bought one). The downstairs bedroom doors did not actually close. For those sensitive to scents and pets, all of the bedding and linens have a significant scent, as well as the washer/dryer. This was unfortunate as I was unable to do laundry. Additionally, the master bedroom had a significant wet dog smell as well as being significantly scented. Thankfully, we were able to sleep in the downstairs bedrooms. This property has a lot of potential, but needs still needs a lot of work.

Beautiful private lake getaway

The property was 10/10, hot tub overlooking the lake, stocked firewood, lots of kids activities to offer. The only downfall was my dad had a very difficult time getting to the bathroom in his wheelchair, the hallways and bathroom very tight to be classified as “wheelchair accessible” The ramp is doable with assistance up and the entrance was very wide with open floor plan through the living room and into the kitchen. If staying and in a wheelchair, you may be struggle a bit.

Our first time staying in a VRBO and in Minnesota and this house was perfect! It was a short stay for my son’s wedding in Fosston, and it did not disappoint. We had our 4 adult children and their significant others and our grand baby….very comfortable for all. Clean, accommodating and fantastic views of Island Lake. Highly recommend if you need a place to recharge and relax!

A wonderful, private place at the north end of the lake. We loved kayaking out on the lake, especially in the evenings when you can watch the loons and other birds. Hot tub was wonderful, house was great, and communicating with Curtis, the host, was easy. We'd definitely come back if we travel to this area again.

This property was first homesteaded on December 30th, 1902 to Shin-goob a Chippewa Indian. Throughout the years this property has had several owners, with the longest and most recent being L. Arden & Mary Ohren. This unique farm site and lake shore property provides you with 40 acres of peace and quiet set along the North shore of beautiful Island Lake, what the locals call Ohren’s bay. The cabin was first built in 1960 and has been remodeled to set you back in time to when you stayed at grandmas with updated features.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

There’s plenty of room in the cabin, our four-bedroom retreat can sleep 12 people, on the main floor there’s a king-size and a queen-size bed with white antique steel bed frames and a full bathroom. The living room and bedrooms have beautiful white crown modeling. Downstairs has 2 bedrooms with 2 queen size bunk beds. There is a reading nook with a reclining chair and a game area with old-fashioned games. We have a wide variety of outdoor amenities you can enjoy during your stay. You can unwind and relax in our hot tub that overlooks the lake or roast some marshmallows over the fire pit and listen to the loons and watch the bald eagles. For those of you who are looking for more of an adventure we’ve provided kayaks, bikes, snowshoes, and cross-country skis. We have groomed walking trails that you can take advantage of and check out the local wildlife, maybe you will see “Hoot” the owl or “Woody” the woodchuck. Pack a picnic lunch and have a quiet afternoon at Look Out Point just follow the west walking trail.
