Perfect little spot.

The place is just as described. Cute little neighborhood with everything you need within walking distance. Would definitely stay again if we visit the area. Well done in a really neat old brick building, lots of charm and character.

Did an overnight trip to see a band play the grog shop. Place as described, easily within walking distance. Just know that Cleveland buildings are older, so no real central air or heating.

Late Night

Perfect place to spend the night after a great outdoor concert at Cain Park. The place is exactly as stated. So nice to be close to this venue. The host responded so quickly to questions.

The place is nicely decorated and equipped. And Clean. Bed is very comfortable. Lots of storage space. I would have preferred regular TV instead of ROKU, but the only negative was the description could have been a little more specific. Air conditioning implies more than one window a/cin one room; and I did not interpret 34 steps as 34 stairs. Otherwise fine.

Listing says 32 steps to enter but does not tell you those steps are on a wooden staircase that does not feel safe on backside of building. Apartment smells of tobacco. Opening door to interior hallway of building reveals why. Hallway reeks intensely of cigarette smoke. Bed is thin foam and feels hard and uncomfortable. Bedroom a/c window unit is not installed properly & has tissue paper stuck around it to fill gaps. Sofa in living room is small, uncomfortable, covered with fitted throwcover hiding whats underneath but not clean itself. I will not stay here again.

Would stay again

We were informed a day before our visit someone would be coming in to inspect the property at 9am the Saturday of our visit. That was very inconvenient for us. I expressed my concern to the host however was told there was nothing that could be done. Also, there are a lot of signs posted around the apartment (do this, don't do that). I have not experienced this at any other property I have stayed at. It made the place feel unwelcoming.

Hi Greg. Ive apologized for the inconvenience of the inspection process. As i said; there was nothing I could do about it. I was told last min and inspections were less than 5 min. Id rather have informed you than surprised you with it. For you to feel this was such an inconvenience to complain in a review is frustrating. Its a ONCE in SEVERAL YEARS process that I cannot and do not control. Like i said. The signs are there because I desire my space to be respected and well taken care of. Theyre also a guide for those who may want to know where to place laundry or how to check out. If you're not in this business, you wont understand how disrespectful people can be when there are no rules in place. The signs are also there for reference and are written nicely. Again; not worth complaining about in a review. Sorry you were so unhappy with your stay.

Had it’s moments

I’m from the south side of Chicago so I definitely am very familiar with neighborhoods that are not in very good shape. The parking was sketchy and dark. We were doing some heavy traveling so we had items strapped on top of the car that we were quite worried about. The stairs going up to the apartment are quite brutal. There’s a lot and they are not in very good shape. There were a lot of unnecessary rules for a property that wasn’t close to a five star rating in our opinion. The property was clean and well kept though. We paid for 2 nights but only stayed one. A 3 star rating is being kind.

Hi Michael. I'm sorry you felt your experience was sub par. I only had you booked for 1 night, not 2. Not sure what happened there. Rules are ALWAYS necessary as some people need that extra guidance and I want to ensure my properties are well taken care of and respected. That comment was subjective. Speaking poorly about the neighborhood when you were only there overnight is also a stretch. It's actually a great, historical neighborhood. Hopefully no one pays attention to your comment about the neighborhood, which was also very subjective. If you had all these issues, you could've mentioned it to me prior to a review. Also, I mentioned in the listing that there are stairs. Again, sorry you were unimpressed.
