Not what I expected

I was under the impression that booking through Vrbo I would be booking a privately owned property. In reality it was a hotel room. I have to admit I was sick when I booked this and didn’t properly research the property. That being said, it was a cute place. I felt safe there by myself, and it was very clean. My only complaints are that the TV was not a smart TV (first world problems), and the pool area was cold, making me not want to use the pool. Overall, I had a nice stay.

Underwhelming

Our stay at Sonesta Select was a disappointing experience. The hotel's actual appearance was a far cry from the vibrant photos advertised, with dingy rooms and a lack of cleanliness that was immediately apparent. The bathroom felt dirty, like the walls needed a good scrub. The bathtub backed up on our first night, and the sink water had a strong mildew smell. Stains marred the carpet, and the advertised courtyard fireplace was non-functional. This was disappointing as we were looking forward to relaxing outside. The hotel was heavily perfumed with air freshener, creating an overpowering scent that was unpleasant. The fridge was too small to accommodate much, and the ice machine on the floor was broken and appeared to have been out of service for some time. Despite these drawbacks, the bed was comfortable, the elevator was fast and the staff were friendly. That's the only positives! Overall, we were disappointed with our stay and would not recommend to others.
