This is a good place to stay if you have a pet. There is plenty of areas to walk your dog. The place is an older facility so don't expect any frills, but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They were painting on the third floor but luckily our room was on the 2nd floor. The police station is just down the block, so I felt it's a safe location, and there is a McDonald's located right in front.In my case I was double charged for the room, and the front desk clerk, Lisa, was not very helpful. Fortunately for me VRBO, the ones I booked through, were very helpful, and quickly took action by contacting the hotel directly. When I went back to the office the next day to find out if the manager was taking care of the overcharge, once again I interacted with Lisa, who once again acted as if the problem was not theirs. Not good customer service here, so that might be something I would take into consideration when planning my return visit to the area.

Misleading Description

First, I would like to say the hotel staff (Sonesta, formally Candlewood) was wonderful and the location was very convenient for what we did. Less than 15 minutes to NASA and Kemah Boardwalk. Less than 10 minutes to the community park that have a ton of activities. The listing however, was misleading. The listing has free parking and free laundry, which is not true. The hotel has always charged for parking $5/day and they started charging for laundry October 2023. When I showed them the listing, they told me I would need to reach out to whoever posted this. I did and they have not replied to me (it's been 12 days as of today). Also, the hotel only offers housekeeping service if you are staying for more than 7 days. You will need to take your towels to the front desk each time you want to change them.
