À propos de cet hébergement
The Rural Hotel A place to come be quiet
If you are looking for $100+ level perfection then we are not your place. Super 8 is the place for you.;) Maybe. But if you are looking for a beautiful, affordable, artistic, rustic/modern charm, specializing in PERFECT country quietness, serenity and rest then we ARE your place. We are just a simple family sharing our hospitality. We like guests who read our full listing and who like to step off the beaten path (out of Wi-Fi and coverage)with curiosity and kindness. We do it differently here.
The space
The living space in our apartment is about 400 square feet. The exterior picture may make it seem larger, but one end of the barn is used for our own personal storage.
The neighboring field has horses. Hosts live about 1/4 mile down the lane and have small children, chickens and cats and dogs. The animals will likely not notice you, but may come take a peak. We have one big white dog named Salvador who has become quite the regular visitor. If you are not into dogs or fear big ones especially we may not be your place. He kindof comes with.
This is a rural location set inside a previous barn, in a field by the woods...so there may be insects and a possible mouse, but we are working hard to keep it as pest free and clean as possible, though. Know in advance that a rural location may naturally have these aspects to it. So if these kinds of things bother you we may not be the place for you. We are kindof “all natural and organic” people. Some of that means not using powerful and highly toxic chemicals, and an occasional spider web left in place because his ecosystem ultimately serves mine too. No poisonous/dangerous ones allowed, though!
We built the entire place ourselves (into the existing barn structure). We are not carpenters by trade but we built our own home first so we did have experience going into it. Perfection is not our forte, though. Comfy, safe, quiet, clean….those are. But again everyone has differing definitions of such things! If perfection is your definition, pass on along. Motel 6 is 10 miles down the road.
We used recycled materials to build this place. So the sink looks dirty, but it is stained. It took a lot of elbow grease to get it looking the way it does. The fridge is an antique, it has rust on it, not splattered food or poop or whatever else it could be misinterpreted as. Ha! Elbow grease did it’s best job.
So again, in an effort to make the best match, please know our space with unique amenities, a serene rural environment, and a reduced/reused/recycled vibe…..it may NOT be for you if that ain’t your thing.
Also our price is determined by and was established by comparison to other local rentals.
Guest access
Field, driveway, barn.
Other things to note
Book a massage with a fabulous massage therapist located on an herbal farm just a few miles from us while you stay! Her contact info is in my photos.
The kitchen sink has some old stains on it as it was a used sink. The fridge is a genuine antique. The toilet is homemade. The bed is really comfy. The internet only works out on the driveway. You will probably see deer. We would love to meet you, guest interaction is really fascinating. But we also know some people come here for seclusion and that is okay too. I like to have fresh flowers to greet you in the summer and personal touches all year round.
Extended stays of up to two weeks are acceptable, but I do not prefer month long stays. I may not accept month long stays.
I DO not accept animals generally, but I do say yes to service animals and have had quite the variety stay. Just be mindful that my Great White Pyrenees pup will come say hi, so just be mindful if you think your service animal would be uncomfortable with this.
