We appreciate your comments about the kitchen supplies and wanted to clarify that the home does have a crock pot, along with a variety of pots, pans, and cooking utensils to accommodate larger groups. We’re sorry if the available items didn’t fully meet your cooking needs during your stay. As for the water, the local tap water is safe to drink, though we understand that some guests prefer bottled water based on personal taste. We also appreciate your note regarding the pool. We did not receive any communication about the pool during the stay, and the first message we received was on the day of departure. Our pool maintenance company services the pool on a regular schedule, and during that week, they reported no issues and confirmed that everything was functioning as expected. Based on their inspections, no concerns were identified during the guest’s stay. As always, we truly encourage guests to reach out as soon as anything feels off so we can step in right away and assist in real time. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the home’s location, but I regret that some aspects did not meet your expectations. Regarding the smoke alarms, the property is equipped with multiple professionally maintained detectors. During your stay, an industry-standard sensor designed to detect smoking (which is not permitted) sent prolonged alerts—a rare occurrence. I reached out to ensure your safety, but after several hours without a response, I felt it necessary to request a safety check from local authorities. It was only after this incident that I received your response, attributing the alerts to cooking. Producing that level of smoke for an extended period poses a genuine fire risk, and my actions were taken out of a duty of care for all guests and the home. I have provided VRBO with full proof that our safety systems functioned as intended, contrary to your allegations. During your 7-night stay, the landscapers spent less than one hour in the pool area, necessary to ensure access to lifesaving equipment. We strive to ensure our environment remains safe and enjoyable for all guests, and we hope that this brief maintenance did not significantly affect your overall experience. I take guest feedback very seriously, and while I regret that your experience felt less than seamless, I wish you safe and enjoyable travels in the future.

Regarding your comment about beach access, we wanted to clarify that our property does indeed offer direct private access to the beach via a convenient walkway accessible from the private oceanside pool area. (This is shown in the property photos.) We understand the importance of direct access to the beach experience. The private beach-access walkway also features seating areas, allowing guests to enjoy stunning views of both sunrise and sunset. I'm glad your family enjoyed your stay and the elevator was helpful for a multigenerational family vacation. That's wonderful. The ocean air is tough on metal and thank for letting me know the grill has lost the battle against it. I will replace it. The internet was indeed fully functional during your stay. Some Apple devices are currently experiencing some initial logon challenges but I manually logged all on so everyone had fully functional internet. As for communication, I strive to be as responsive as possible, but was not immediately available after your checkout when you notified me that items were left behind. I routinely get high ratings for excellent communication but may not always be immediately responsive when no guests are in the home. I did offer after checkout to faciliate your access to retrieve the items but I understand your travel plans did not allow a return. I take great care to ensure the listing reflects exactly what guests can expect, and I’ve had no previous concerns about inaccuracy. You didn’t reach out with any questions before booking, share any feedback during your stay, or include any details in your review, so I didn’t have the chance to address any concerns at the time. I always welcome communication and the opportunity to make things right in real time. I also want to acknowledge the damage during your stay, including a broken picture frame (which you kindly reported after departure) and a broken door handle that required emergency repair and was not mentioned. I do wonder if perhaps the lower rating was related to those post-stay charges, though I hope that’s not the case.
