Dear Cathy, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your recent stay at our cottage did not meet your expectations. Our main goal is to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for all of our guests and we're sorry that we fell short during your visit. Regarding your concerns about the grass, we are currently in a very dry climate and with the recent fires on the mainland, we have left the grass tall as to avoid further dryness that could lead to potential risks. We have been waiting for rain to ensure the grass had a good drink before we cut it. However, we appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration to ensure our guests' comfort in the future. The presence of mice and mosquitoes can be a common occurrence in rural settings, but we understand your concern and regret any discomfort this caused. We take preventive measures very seriously, including regular inspections to ensure a rodent-free environment. Our property is also equipped with rodent deterrents in every room and a screened-in porch to provide a comfortable sanctuary from flying insects. We would like to point out that we noticed the porch door being left open during your stay, which unfortunately could have invited in these critters. We did a through cleaning and inspection of the property after your departure and there were no mouse droppings to be found anywhere. For extra measures, we have added traps just to be safe. We empathize with your frustration about the neighbour's dog. As stated in our property description, the dog can be vocal at times and we're sorry if this caused any disturbance. Please note that we were only made aware of these issues 20 minutes prior to your checkout, not allowing us sufficient time to address them. We encourage all our guests to bring up any concerns as soon as they arise, allowing us to rectify them promptly and improve your overall stay. We hold our cottage to a high standard and aim to provide a 5-star experience for all our guests. We value your feedback and will strive to use it to improve our services moving forward.
