Toogoodoo River Farmhouse
Sits high on a bluff on the Toogoodoo River.
About this home Toogoodoo Bluff's site sits on a high bluff overlooking the deep Toogoodoo Creek and wide marshes. The farmhouse dates back to the mid to late 1700's, and includes a unique architectural feature of a rain porch with extended roof. The house was disassembled in the mid 1990's and numbered board by board and then reconstructed on the current site. It was not finished until 2006.
We really enjoyed our stay. Manager was super nice, couldnât have asked for better. Dock was excellent and the manager provides everything you need to go kayaking or fishing.
My family and I just recently enjoyed a week at the beautiful, and historic Toogoodoo River house. The inside of the home is just as chock full of charm and history as the outside, with every room being its own wonderful space. You only have to step out on the porch to enjoy the outdoors in one of the many seating options from rocking chairs to dining table all covered by the rain roof. Beyond that lies the breathtaking beauty of the Toogoodoo River and surrounding marsh. It looks like a postcard that you can walk right into via the dock. There was something special about this property for each of my family members and we all agree, we have to go back! None of this would have been as great of an experience without our wonderful host, Janie! Canât wait Toogoo back to Toogoodoo!
