Dan hosted our group of 10 and we found it very spacious. The house was very clean and well maintained. The area was nice and safe. Dan did a great job of communicating with me throughout our entire stay. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this property.

For the price it was great! The neighborhood was awesome to get to know. It was safe and clean. You will have neighbors above and beside you which can be noisy. This shotgun style duplex didn’t have much open congregating space for all 6 of us, but plenty of bedroom space, all queen size beds.

Unfortunately we need to leave a bad review. The only saving grace was the communication-Dan was very responsive. We were extremely disappointed with the condition of the house when we arrived. The home was far from clean, and we immediately noticed several issues: ants all over the floor in one room, little pieces of trash scattered throughout the rooms, large dust and hair piles along walls, fans had inches of dust on them, mail was covering the entryway, toothpaste splattered on the bathroom faucet, stains and crumbs on the couch, and dirty, stained sheets with hair on them. It was clear it was NOT cleaned before we came. There was no remote for the one tv and the tv wasn’t even hooked up to the internet to use an app. Because of the state of the home, we had no choice but to purchase cleaning supplies and ant killer and begin cleaning ourselves. We stripped the sheets and started washing them at midnight in a basement we stumbled upon. We genuinely did not feel comfortable sleeping here, but we had no alternative after arriving due to the holiday. Describing this property as “beautiful” feels very misleading based on its current condition. We were able to leave after two nights for a new place but the nights we spent in the filth were not refunded to us, even though we bought cleaning supplies and cleaned the place. Very disappointed in that and the home as a whole.

Refurbished Old-Style Unit in 4-Family Flat with Stairs
THE GOOD:-- Newly refurbished-- Paint colors were nice-- Furniture was nice-- Beds were comfortable, and the comforters were super nice & comfortable.-- Kitchen newly refurbished-- Two bedrooms could possibly sleep as many as 12 people (2 in each queen-sized bed). -- Conveniently located near Tower Grove Park & Missouri Botanical Garden.-- Convenient access to highways-- Parking available for one car if no street parking availableTHE BAD:-- Street parking/stairs-- Someone lives or rents the unit upstairs, and was noisy at times-- Only ONE small bathroom-- Only ONE mirror. Should hang mirrors in each bedroom so that others can finish getting ready outside of bathroom-- Bathroom has no fan (so mirror fogs up). I would install one of those electric mirrors that light up and have an anti-fog function.-- Bathroom has limited counter space (single sink/vanity) and could use some shelving/storage--especially if more than 2 guests-- Bathtub has good water pressure, but shower is super low-flow-- Bath towels are ridiculously small-- Kitchen was stocked, but no baking pans of any kind to put in oven (needs pizza pan, cookie sheet, etc.)-- No kitchen towels (used bath towel)-- No washer/dryer that we could find-- Only 4 framed wall art pieces in entire house, no extra decorative touches-- Outdoor spaces were just okay--needs work.Overall, I would give this place 3.5 stars. Unfortunately, this place needs some fine-tuning still.
