The Waves a récemment été rénové après avoir été endommagé par l'ouragan Irma. Le complexe dans lequel il se trouve a encore plusieurs bâtiments endommagés. La piscine, les parkings et les chaussées sont tous accessibles.

The Waves est un magnifique condo de 2 chambres situé directement au bord de l'océan dans un quartier résidentiel privé et sécurisé connu sous le nom de Guana Bay.

Ce condo a des sols en marbre de Cararra et des murs de salle de bain. Le mur de fenêtre en bord de mer rend l'expérience de ce condo pas comme les autres dans la baie de Guana ou, d'ailleurs, Sint Maarten.

Les deux chambres offrent des lits queen. Une chambre offre une vue imprenable sur l'océan. Vous pouvez vous endormir dans l'océan au clair de lune et vous réveiller chaque jour avec un lever de soleil spectaculaire.

Lorsque vous entrez dans The Waves, la cuisine et la salle à manger sont sur votre gauche. Le salon est en face, avec la vue la plus étonnante sur les vagues de l'océan Atlantique. Vous vous sentez comme si vous étiez réellement dans l'eau sur un navire; sans le balancement!

La porte de la salle à manger donne accès à la chambre à un lit queen. Cette chambre dispose d'un accès direct à la salle de bains revêtue de marbre Jack et Jill avec douche. Il y a une 2e porte de cette salle de bain qui donne accès à la chambre principale des maîtres vitrée. Cette chambre est également accessible depuis le salon.

Hors du salon est un patio privé avec une sculpture d'espadon en bronze et des balustrades en béton classiques qui encadrent à la fois votre panorama personnel des vagues et de la rue. Barth au loin.

Pour ceux d'entre vous qui aiment avoir un endroit calme pour se retirer, mais à seulement 10 minutes de tous les magasins, restaurants et divertissements que la capitale de Philipsburg a à offrir, The Waves est un excellent choix.

Il n'y a vraiment aucun autre condo de 2 chambres en bord de mer de qualité dans tout Sint Maarten qui offre ce que The Waves fait compte tenu de l'emplacement et du prix.

Pour les arrangements aériens, volez vers l'aéroport Princess Juliana, Sint Maarten. Vous voudrez louer une voiture à l'aéroport. The Waves est à 20 minutes en voiture.

Pour les grands groupes, The Waves peut être loué avec la Villa Leone Sint Maarten; Homeaway annonce # 173339,
pour accueillir jusqu'à 6 personnes supplémentaires.

Si vous restez une semaine, voici mes recommandations pour quelques activités:

JOUR 1

Prenez le petit déjeuner au Chesterfield à Philipsburg; à 10 minutes en voiture. Ce restaurant est situé directement sur la marina de Bobby avec une vue fantastique sur l'eau. Après le petit déjeuner, faites une boucle de l'île pour avoir une idée de ce que vous pourriez être intéressé à voir pendant votre séjour. Je recommande des arrêts à Friar's Bay Beach ainsi qu'à Marigot pendant votre boucle insulaire. Un arrêt l'après-midi au Sunset Beach Bar près de l'aéroport est également agréable. Vous pouvez regarder les gros jets géants atterrir à quelques mètres de vous!
Vous serez fatigué après votre longue journée à faire le tour de l'île, alors retournez à The Waves pour des cocktails sur votre terrasse en bord de mer.

JOUR 2

Après le petit-déjeuner sur le patio en bord de mer, promenez-vous à côté pour explorer la plage de Gibbs Bay, puis revenez par The Waves et descendez à Guana Bay Beach. Il y a un début de sentier au bout de la plage de Guana Bay qui vous emmènera le long de l'océan jusqu'à Philipsburg. Si vous êtes randonneurs, ce serait une excellente façon de passer la matinée.
La nuit, une promenade à Simpson Bay pour dîner à Avantika pour la cuisine thaïlandaise et après pour le karaoké chez Toppers pourrait être amusante.

JOUR 3

Si vous aimez faire de la plongée, le jour 1 ou 2, faites une réservation sur l'un des catamarans qui sortent de la marina de Bobby. Petit déjeuner au Chesterfield's à nouveau. C'est juste à côté de l'endroit où les bateaux partent de la marina de Bobby. Ils ont des voiles toute la journée avec open bar, déjeuner et plongée en apnée à deux ou trois endroits. Une bonne journée!
Le soir, s'il vous reste de l'énergie, dîner et prendre un verre à la Serre; également près de Bobby's Marina, est un bon choix.

JOUR 4

Après le petit-déjeuner sur la terrasse, conduisez à Phiipsburg, garez-vous sur le terrain en face de Windward Islands Bank et passez la matinée à marcher le long des boutiques de Front Street et le long de la promenade du front de mer. L'achat de bijoux et d'appareils électroniques est très amusant et peut avoir beaucoup à offrir au consommateur averti. Vous pouvez acheter deux bières et un cigare cubain pour 5 $ auprès des marchands ambulants. Vous pouvez louer des Segways et rouler le long du Boardwak. Un arrêt que je recommande est le magasin Guavaberry. Leurs shakes sont délicieux et désaltérants. Pour le déjeuner, essayez Taloula Mangos sur la promenade.!

Le soir, essayez Bamboo à Simpson Bay pour les sushis ou EZI pour un excellent italien; essayez leur aubergine Parmagiana! Assurez-vous de faire une réservation. Ils sont toujours emballés! Après le dîner, à Maho, essayez la musique live The Hole in the Wall.

JOUR 5

Une journée du côté français peut être une belle expérience.
Le matin, vous pouvez vous rendre à Marigot, vous garer et vous promener dans la ville. Il y a un joli fort au sommet d'une colline à visiter.
Soyez prêt à tout payer en euros de ce côté de l'île. Vous pouvez même monter à bord du ferry et aller à Anguilla; un trajet en ferry de 20 minutes. Il y a de belles plages là-bas et vous pouvez craquer une autre île.
La nuit, continuez jusqu'à Grand Case. C'est une petite ville du côté français qui abrite quelques restaurants français exquis. Le dîner peut être cher mais l'expérience peut être inoubliable!

JOUR 6

Une visite à Orient Beach du côté français est une possibilité pour aujourd'hui. Vous pouvez tourner à droite à l'endroit où la route de Guana Bay coupe la route principale et continuer vers le nord jusqu'à Orient Beach. La plage est divisée en maillots nus et maillots de bain obligatoires. C'est ta décision!

Pour votre dernier dîner à Sint Maarten, je vous recommande de combiner vos nouvelles connaissances de l'île avec une recherche dans Tripadvisor et d'essayer un nouvel endroit à Philpsburg, Simpson Bay ou Maho. Vous pouvez ensuite retourner à votre boîte de nuit préférée pour terminer votre semaine sur cette île très amusante.

There pictures are severely outdated. Their appliances were not operating. The frozen food we put in the freezer the night we arrived was warm when we woke the next morning. When I woke up the next morning and stepped out of bed I stepped in a puddle of water that leaked in from outside. This place was dingy and wasn’t even the same outside color as the pictures. Severe miss representation. The maintenance crew that came the next morning illuded to the fact that they come and fix fix fix.

Hello Lindsey, About once a year, we have a guest who arrives and decides before they open the door that they don’t like the Waves. I believe it’s due to the beautiful and special private location in the exclusive area of Guana Bay, maybe the rugged but very passable road leading to The Waves, or, perhaps that it is not really near any noisy neighbors, bright lights, nightclubs or walkable to any nearby restaurants. These are all reasons that most of our many returning guests love Tye Waves. I say this because within 5 minutes of arriving you sent me a text asking how to make ice in the fridge. I responded to you in 5 minutes saying to put water in the freezer and leave it overnight. You also asked in the same text if y s normal to have a lizard running around inside. I responded that they can sometimes wander in if the door is left open and that the maid has just spent all day cleaning. He possible snuck in the open door. The next morning you said you still had no ice. I sent Max down with a cooler of ice for you to use until we figured out what the issue may be with the fridge. You also said a little water came in a window on the floor during the rainy night. You said you wanted to leave even if we fixed the fridge. I offered you a free night that you stayed and gave you a full refund; without question. You said you may need to return on Wednesday but accepted the refund. The Waves was recently painted white. Some older pictures were pink. Apologies if you liked pink.

The accommodation and location are as described. The area is quiet and the sound of the ocean make it peaceful. The accommodations are very simple and sparse. Although the host made efforts to fix it, there was no wifi internet available for the duration of our stay until the last 12 hours. Additionally, there were significant pest issues with ants and other bugs in the apartment and in the clean dishes. While our host was responsive and offered solutions, including providing us with a spray, the issue was unwelcome. Finally, we found the apartment to have some cleanliness issues, including dusty/sandy floors. We swept the floors ourselves.

We apologize about the internet. As you know, we brought the box to the service center 3 times during your stay to no avail. Yesterday, we installed Starlink. The WiFi is now faster and more reliable! When guests leave food on the tables or counters, the little ants can be a bother occaisonally. We recommended using Tupperware or sealed freezer bags. It’s a pretty common issue on the island. We thoroughly clean the villa prior to each guest’s arrival. Perhaps the sand on the floor was tracked in from the beach? Thank you for staying at The Waves! Off the beaten path

Wonderful private site off the busy areas. Right next to the pool and quick walk to a beach that was almost deserted MostOf the time. Only twenty two minute drive to our favorite beach at orient bay. Would love to go back, maybe next year.

The privacy, peace, beauty and cruise ship suite like views of the ocean are certainly what make a stay at The Waves so special. Being nestled between Guana Bay and Gibbs Bay deserted beaches; both only a 5 minute walk, offers that Robinson Crusoe type deserted island feel to the area. Yet, the Capital Philpsburg is just a 10 minute drive away for shopping, cruise ships, boardwalk, more beaches, dining and nightlife. There are very few quiet areas with such magnificent views anywhere in the island that even closely compare to Guana Bay and The Waves. We hope to see you back soon! Ciao, Frank

On the water quiet area. Close to the main areas we wanted. Went out every day hit the places we wanted and only took a half a tank of gas for the week. Frank was great with any question.

The Waves

Interesting stay. The ambiance of the waves outside was amazing. But we had a few other problems while staying there...including bathroom doors that wouldn't close (half our stay), leaks in the kitchen and bedroom, and some bugs upon arrival. Otherwise, nice stay next to a secluded beach.

Hello Ashley, We are glad to hear that you loved the ambiance of The Waves. We do apologize for the items you mentioned. After cleaning, the day before you arrived, our maid placed “Combat” enclosed insect containers around the Waves. Apparently they did a great job but sorry you had to find a couple insects on the floor. We did offer to send the maid to pick those up but thanks again for already having cleaned them up. The day after you notified us of the sticking doors, we sent a carpenter to remove, plane and rehang the doors. They then worked perfectly. We have found and fixed the small leak above the kitchen. You were the first guests since we renovated The Waves over the past 2 years. Again, sorry that you had any inconvenience. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. kinda run down

Inside the condo was run down. Toilet seat missing the first day. Leftover food left in microwave. Sidewalks were over grown with shrubs making it hard to get suitcases to property. Outdoor furniture dirty and uncomfortable. The location was amazing for a couple but I brought my 21 year old son and to keep him entertained was quite a drive.

Hello Dee Dee, You are totally correct on 2 counts and we wholeheartedly agree with you on the toilet seat and are embarrassed that the maid forgot her bread and cheese she intended to microwave. We do apologize!! The day you arrived, we had a guest departing at noon the same day early and it was hectic getting The Waves ready in time for your arrival in the 2 hrs that we had. The previous guest that left that afternoon had broken the toilet seat and never informed us about it. We did get that immediately replaced for you. We do have to take exception to your opinion that the inside is run down. Literally everything in the Waves is brand new including windows, doors, partitions, appliances, cabinets, Corian countertop, sofa, chairs, kitchen table, beds, mattresses, dishes, silverware, bedding, towels, toilet, sliders, paint, light fixtures.and more. Since you were the 3rd guest since we reopened The Waves, it is far from “run down”. To the contrary, it’s all brand spanking new. As to the sidewalks, they are clear and very walkable. If you found one section that was not, please send a photo or an email describing where you had any issues. We will certainly address it. You said the outdoor furniture is dirty and uncomfortable. The salt spray from the ocean does leave a residue on the tables and chairs as soon as they are cleaned. This is one of the results of being so close to the water’s edge. I have not had any previous complaints about that issue though. Most guests just wipe down the outdoor pvc table and chairs every morning before enjoying breakfast on their private patio on the ocean to one of the most amazing sunrises you will ever see! The white pvc chairs are not the most luxurious but are the same as we have upstairs at Villa Leone. To date, you have been the first to describe them as uncomfortable. We previously had padded chairs but the ocean conditions did not make them the best choice. They were always too wet to sit on. The pool lounges are very comfortable sling chaises. In conclusion, I know that it was not the right location for you, as you told me that your son wanted to be near the “action” since he just turned 21. I totally understand and sympathize. The Waves, although only a 10 minute drive to the capital Philipsburg and 20 minutes from all of the action in Simpson Bay, is still not the best choice if you want to be right in the middle of a lot of people, bars and noise. Breathtaking ocean side villa

This was an absolutely beautiful location right by the ocean side. The glass windows gave the ambience of being on a yacht on the ocean with beautiful views of the sunrise every morning. The location itself is about 25 minutes from the airport but this is a perfect getaway for those wishing to get away from the crowded beaches and resorts on Simpson bay and closer to town. It is just 10 minutes from Phillipsburg which is where the ships dock and there is a wide variety of restaturants. The view on the drive to and from the location makes up for any time spent! There are two absolutely beautiful, pristine and quiet beaches just 3 minutes walk from the villa- alternately one could simply relax on the balcony watching and listening to the ocean. The owner Frank was extremely responsive to messages and sent a detailed welcome letter of activities which was very helpful The island is truly friendly with the staff Dalia and Lynn embodying that Overall it is a perfect island getaway in an absolutely beautiful and exclusive location!

The Waves- a small oceanfront villa

My husband and I stayed at the Waves for 7 nights in early February. As described, it does feel like you're on a cruise without the rocking. We enjoyed listening and watching the waves. Aside from the paint color outside (it's white now instead of pink) the inside pictures are accurate. Frank, the owner, was very responsive when we inquired about booking. He has even created a very informative booklet of attractions/restaurants on the island. Although helpful, we felt the booklet could use an update; especially the directions on how to get from the airport to the villa. Luckily, Google was able to direct us, so we had no issues. Other things we loved about The Waves: the sheets were fresh and clean, the towels- both bath and beach/pool were plentiful. Speaking of pool, there's a great shared pool and it was never busy. The beach umbrella and pool noodles were great to have available. The water in the shower had excellent pressure and it was nice and hot. A few items to note we did like the fact that The Waves was away from the hustle and bustle of town, with that you'll need a rental car to make the most of our stay.We also loved the waves and ocean, however, there is a fair amount of sea spray and a constant breeze that comes with being so close to the ocean. The concrete driveway was our biggest complaint. It is REALLY rough. I was a bit concerned our rental car was going to bottom out and be damaged. Frank said to drive slowly and we did, but it was still pretty bad

Great view. So so property.

First off, we could only stay one night because of Covid 19 and had to evacuate. We paid for four nights but only stayed one. (Of course no refund). Amazing water view with crashing waves. Beautiful view of St Barts. The pool was terrific. We were not happy with the cleanliness of the unit as there was hair and dirt on the floor and on the furniture. Restoration from Irma was a bit poor in my opinion with some hazards on the floor, like rebar sticking up from the floor. It was ground down but was still sharp enough to cause injury. . We kept our shoes on the entire time and there was a water leak which caused standing water on one side of the master bed. The marble floor was very scarred and stained and the appliances we pretty old but they did work properly. We took a lot of pictures for proof. Frank responded as best he could but not much he could do to fix it. Frank should take a look at Max’s units to see how a restoration is done right.

Hello, One important thing this guest failed to mention is that at 8am, he texted me pleading to give him access to occupy the Waves as soon as possible. Our normal time to occupy is 3pm. I changed their entry time to 8am to accommodate their request. No additional fee requested. They entered at 10am. Our maid went to clean at 10:15am but noticed the guests were there and did not clean. The beds and linens were cleaned the day before. We always clean the floors and windows on arrival morning. Upon the guests concern that the floor was not clean, I said the maid would return in the morning. They said not to bother. The Carrara marble floors survived the wrath of Irma. I choose to leave them as a benchmark of Irma. They do show signs such as salt etching and mineral release. There are no “rebar” of any sort as claimed by this guest. My opinion is that they were just flustered by the Civid19 situation and decided to take it out on The Waves. At times we do have horizontal wind and rain being so close to the ocean. Some water may have blown through a window and settled on the floor. They didn’t want the maid to mop up. The appliances were all bought new less than a year ago. Don’t know why this guest said they are old. We just had guests leave before these guests arrived. They loved The Waves and left a 4 star review. These guests never even thanked me for allowing them a very early entry or requested any partial refund. They told Max; my manager, that they liked the Waves except the floors needed to be cleaned better. I personally stayed in the Waves the month before their arrival and made sure that all of the 3 separately controlled new air conditioners and appliances were in good working order. All windows, beds and furniture are new. What else they were looking for or expecting are beyond my comprehension. The photos of The Waves are comprehensive and accurate. I personally like The Waves better than Villa Leone upstairs. It’s only one bedroom and a smaller patio and no hot tub, but, the views from the bed in the Master Befroom are the best!

Good potential, but need address few flaws

Pros: Just 30 minutes from SXM. About 7 minutes from grocery stores/cafes (by car). Only 20 feet from the surf. You have constant ocean feel/sound/unobstructed views. Very tranquil with no tourists/cars/noise. Nice size community pool (we never meet anyone). No mosquitoes. On site handyman. Swimming beach about 5 minutes from house. Plenty of beach towels. Cons: 1. House wasn’t clean (grease on stove-top, dust at clothes shelving & floor, dirt on the fridge). 2. It was no gas at stove on day # 1 (was fixed next day) and on day #7 (was fixed same day). 3. It was no hangers, we can’t hang clothes/shirts (was delivered next day). 4. It was no kettle, spatula, salad bowl, cutting board, soup spoon, can opener, hair dryer (some items delivered on second day). 5. Internet stops working on last day. Always was very slow 1-3 mbs. 6. Not sure if water heater is the same for the building, since there is 2 bed 2 bath unit upstairs. 7. If any issues, owner always refer to his onsite manager (200 feet away), but he was not always home, plus we can’t text him since its landline. 8. Cold water shower valve was not working (was fixed next day). 9. When we shut all windows while leaving unit (as advised by owner), it was very strong smell of dust from rodent/insect repellents plugged in electrical outlets. 10. No starter kits (coffee filters, shower items, paper towels). 11. Trash dumpster was about 1 mile from unit (we didn’t rent a car, so it was too far). 12. No screen at the larger bedroom sliding door. 13. No night lamps in bedrooms, only very bright wall lights. 14. Kitchen pots & pens are heavily used, cheapest quality aluminum old ones. 15. Ugly abandon house next door (damaged by hurricane Irma in 2017) and abandon unfinished construction resort with few empty buildings about 100 feet away. 16. Patio/balcony can’t be used without passing from kitchen via larger bedroom. 17. Height of both bathroom doors is about 5’10 (with my 6’3 height I always need to remember to bend over when entering-exit. 18. Mattress was on a softer side (I prefer more firm). 19. Few homeless dogs barking around house occasionally & begging for food. 20. Second bedroom have a small window facing laundry area: gave basement feeling (with back wall partially below soil level). 21. No laundry in unit. 22. Bath sink slowly drained. 23. Toilet seat was loose, completely broke up on last day. 24. Owner offer refund on a day #3 if we move out (but no availability due to holiday).

Heavenly Little Corner

We really enjoyed the apartment and its location in a quieter corner of the island. The apartment is tastefully furnished with all the necessities - the fridge runs cold, and the shower runs hot. You can choose to either crack the windows at night to listen to waves breaking on the shore just a few feet away, or keep everything closed up if you need silence to sleep. All of the shopping and restaurants of Phillipsburg are just a 7 min car ride over the hill. Similarly, the road that heads to the French (north) side of the island is just over the hill, too. The swimming pool was pristine, with comfy chaise lounges to relax in. There are two sandy beaches within a 5 min walk, north and south of the villa. Guana Beach, to the north, is a bit calmer, and more snorkel-friendly; the waves at both beaches are big enough to have some fun on boogie boards, which Frank has provided in the villa. Being located at the end of the road and within a small cluster of homes, the area feels very safe, no concerns regarding personal safety (there's a little safe in the bedroom if you want to secure your documents and small valuables, though). Overall, highly recommended!

Great location off the beaten place. The area definitely got hurt by the hurricane, all being worked on. The Wave was clean comfortable. The waves and beaches relaxing and private. I would visit again!!

Great, relaxing vacation!

We really enjoyed our stay. We spent most days traveling around the island, shopping and hitting the beaches. In the evening it was great to come back to a more private area and listen to the waves crashing on the rocks. Extremely relaxing.

Great Getaway Right on the Water

This is the first condo we have stayed which was directly on the water and I'm hooked. The sound of the waves ( they can be loud) was so calming.....could sit on the deck for hours and was lulled asleep every night. We never used the pool as the beach was well within easy walking distance. The beach was never crowded, maybe 10 people at the most. The condo is away from all the hustle and bustle but it doesn't take any time to get to restaurants, shopping or sightseeing. The Waves had just what we were looking for, solitude but not isolated.

Lovely, secluded and restful

If you are looking for crowds, nightlife and action - this is not the place for you. But if you are seeking a quiet lovely place where you have choice of two beaches all to yourself and a wonderful swimming pool just steps from your front door, if you enjoy the sound of waves crushing on the beach and love the feel of the ocean breeze blowing through you hair then don't think twice, sign up today to stay at "The Waves". We couldn't have been more delighted with our stay. The place is very clean and offers every amenity you will need for the meals and lots of extras like beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels and even an ice chest. We really enjoyed eating our meals on the secluded patio and very much appreciated Frank's quick response to any inquiries. As secluded as "The Waves" is you just short drive away from any tourist attraction and many fine restaurants on the island. We very much enjoyed our stay and would happily return again.

A Perfect Place; the best of Guana Bay

Villa Leone is a beautiful unit in the Guana Bay Villas. The unit sits right at the waterfront. We chose to stay on the first floor, "The Waves" . With the drapes open, we could wake to see the ocean, and go to sleep in the moonlight. The villa looks exactly as the pictures portray. It is bright, immaculate, and has all the amenities one could desire. The queen beds were new, sporting the softest of sheets and a cozy comforter. The unit had plenty of towels and the kitchen had everything we required. We chose to grill one evening, and dine on the patio by moonlight. Very romantic! The area is quiet and secluded. This is not the typical hotel/resort atmosphere. If you are looking for crowds you won't find it here. But, if you like privacy, and don't like to share your space with a huge crowd, you will love this villa. The pool is clean and well-maintained. And, the beach-access is just a short walk. You must have a car to access the area, and it is best to shop on your way in. The villa is a short ride to Phillipsburg, where you can walk along the "boardwalk" and enjoy local restaurants, shopping and the beach. For a lavish treat, take a ride to Pinelle Island, where you will find a beautiful beach, crystal clear water, and the best spiny lobster, as you dine right at the water!! Yummy. And, you may want to stop in at Topper's in Simpson Bay for a casual meal and lots of fun at karaoke. This was a fifth trip to St. Maarten, and the villa offered a different perspective to staying in a resort. We so enjoyed this trip, and look forward to next year.

We finally found Paradise

We have visited numerous island looking for paradise and finally found it in Sint Maarten Guana Bay at The Waves, The accommodations were cozy,clean and welcoming. Great kitchen with a the amenities I needed to prepare meals.The view is Spectacular! If we were any closer to the ocean we would be in it. I walked every morning to the beach for a swim while my husband enjoyed the pool...We had fun days filled with exploring the entire island stopping at varies shops, restaurants and beaches....so many amazing beaches.......PARADISE!
