Excellent location, friendly staff

The location is fantastic—close to Times Square and easy to find. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful!! The rooms were clean and in decent condition—spacious in comparison to other Times Square hotels I’ve stayed in.

No complaints!

Stayed for just a night, good place for short term stays. Convenient location, clean room. Friendly staff and easy check in. Elevators were rlly slow but that’s not the point lol

It was okay

Check in process kind of weird. Bunk beds kind of janky, have not received our deposit back yet. We were there maybe 12 hrs and got charged a damage deposit fee for 2 days. I know we were in NYC but nothing blocks the sound out. We heard everything outside of our window.

Not what it seems

The listing looks nice. However, when we got there, we were told the fitness center was out of order, the elevators were not working properly half the time. Give yourself 30 minutes to get to the lobby to check out because housekeeping was taking linens down at the same time as the busiest part of checkout and elevators only hold 7 people max, less with bags. There were outlets that needed to be replaced and one didn't have an outlet cover. There was loud banging on and off maybe from the hot water heater? The only thing I loved was our housekeeper, she was amazing and so kind! I'll be honest, I felt unsafe in this building with our kids: was a fire going to start or a pipe going to burst or the bunk ladder going to break? Won't be staying here again or recommending to anyone else.

Disappointing Stay at The Gallivant Hotel

Our recent stay at The Gallivant Hotel was far from what the photos promised. Unfortunately, the reality was much worse. Right from the start, we encountered several issues: the shower knob handle was loose and would fall off, and there was no top deadbolt on the door. To make matters worse, the door from the outside didn’t close properly and remained slightly open. Inside, the furniture was in disrepair—the table with the phone was falling apart, and the sink in the bathroom was slanted, as was the towel holder above the toilet paper. The outlets were in terrible condition. They were so loose that the hotel phone wasn’t even plugged in. Many of the outlets felt flimsy and unsafe. The bunkbed steps were also broken, making it difficult to climb up and down safely. Despite the listing mentioning a microwave, there was none in the room, which was very inconvenient. The lighting in the room was also inadequate, making the space feel dark and gloomy. Overall, our stay was a disaster. The staff were not particularly helpful in resolving these issues. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until significant improvements are made.
