This was the worst vacation in a holiday rental we have ever had!We stayed 4 wks - all of September. After travelling for two days from Europe, we arrived tired to find a house which had not been cleaned (filthy pots & pans, burnt remains in the oven, washing in the dryer, bathroom bins unemptied, dirty floors, filthy carpets). Joseph asked for photo evidence before he committed to sending a cleaner, who then appeared the following morning, together with Joseph and his wife (the only time we ever saw them during the whole time we were there, in spite of multiple email and SMS complaints). The evaporate cooler initially just blew out warm air. After that was fixed, it was clear that it was not pumping healthy air into the house. After numerous complaints, the pad was exchanged, which was caked in calcium deposits. The fact that we had respiratory problems during our whole time there cannot be definitely attributed to the cooler, but it was indicative that we always felt worse when we were in that house. We could also never rid the house of mosquitos/gnats, probably because the fly screens on the windows never properly fitted on the windows which actually had some.Since the available pots and pans could no longer be cleaned, we had to buy a new set so that we could cook. Joseph told us that he would compensate us but, since we never saw evidence of that happening, we gave everything we bought to Goodwill.Joseph was the least supportive host we have ever encountered!
