Of all the VRBO places we've used in all 50 states, this is now our all-time favorite! It really is a cozy little cottage in the woods, perfectly quiet, super clean, no overbearing cleanup rules, and simply a little paradise in the country. And the most affectionate orange cat you'll ever meet makes frequent visits to the porch to say hello!

Excellent Stay!

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage for Auburn graduation and appreciated the quiet, wooded setting and lovely porches. All aspects of the home were well-maintained and well thought-out. Lisa was easy to work with and quick to respond. This is one of the best VRBO experiences we've had!

Extended vacation

We rented this property for 2 weeks. It was part vacation/visit son at Auburn/work remotely part time. The rental was very clean. It was a bit closer to the owners home than we expected (this was the reason for the couple of 4 stars) but they did a great job of making it as private as possible. The deck is on the opposite side of the owners home and they have a privacy curtain at the end of the front porch that blocks the view of the house as well. For the most part it was very peaceful. They were working on a home construction project that was a bit disruptive to the peace but when that wasn’t going on it was very nice. We understand that a particular mattress is not necessarily going to work for everyone so this is not a complaint but just an FYI. My husband is a bigger guy and he had trouble with the soft mattress. I had no problem. It was very comfy. Overall it was an excellent visit and I would highly recommend.

Lovely cottage in the woods

We found this little treasure and booked immediately. Best decision!This cottage was lovely! Quiet, wooded area a short 20 minutes drive to Auburn, AL Very clean and cozy. We will return for sure next time we visit Auburn for a football game!

Phenomenal

EXACTLY as pictured and described. Very quiet, easy access to/from our activities at RTJ golf, Auburn University and kids stopping by on the way in from Columbus. Enjoyed hanging out on the porch and all the upscale amenities. Thanks for the the thoughtful little details...snacks, coffee, drinks. This little place was very comfortable for us.

Allan is an Atlanta Falcons fan and enjoys keeping up with the latest SpaceX adventures. We love spending time with our family and hanging out with the grandchildren.

Rural Lee County is quiet & peaceful but close enough to Auburn and Opelika to enjoy some city life. There may be a random deer in the back yard or a flock of turkeys crossing the property. We truly have 4 seasons and there’s likely a celebration of that season close by. Although we boast the tranquility of the property, there's always something to do a few miles down the road. Salem Auction is typically every Friday night. Check FB page for specifics. Rocky Top Farms is close https://www.thefarmatrockytop.com/
The Opelika Sports plex offers day passes but the pickleball courts are available at no cost. https://www.opelika-al.gov/391/Opelika-Sportsplex-Aquatics-Center
Visit https://www.aotourism.com/events/?bounds=false&view=list&sort=date for local events. For Old School fun, check out Rock and Roll Pinball in Downtown Opelika. We have fabulous restaurants too and will be happy to make recommendations.

Enjoy the quiet, relaxing, private guest home with a large front porch that has rockers and a swing to enjoy your slow morning coffee or drink of choice. The side deck has outdoor dining, a gas grill and string lights. Other than the owner's home, there’s no other dwellings on the 15-acre property giving you a sense of serenity. With all the modern amenities, relax, unwind, read a book or simple just feel at home and be our guest. We are close to events if desired, but remote enough to rest and restore.
