Excellent lodge on the edge of a lake.Good facilities and many activities nearby. Can recommend the laser clay shooting.Have visited and stayed at the Lakes many times and never get bored.The lodge had everything you need for a weeks stay and hot tub was great for the evenings when it eventually cooled down!Communications with host first class.There is an excellent outside bar just the other side of the main road to the left of the DeVere hotel on a lake. Went most evenings for an early drink.Would certainly return for another stay at this lodge.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The property was perfect for myself and two teenage boys with plenty of room for them to chill out without getting on top of each other. Kitchen was well equipped but could maybe use some more cooking utensils - we ate out/had take aways so wasn’t a big issue for us. Nice to have a dishwasher when we did cook! The lounge was nice and roomy - comfortable seating, especially the recliner armchair! We had a couple of issues with the outside lights and hot tub lights not working. David reacted as fast as he could to replace some of the outside lighting which we appreciated. The double doors leading to the hot tub and outside seating area became almost impossible to close so we resorted to walking round from the front door - not difficult but it meant there was no air circulating in the lounge so it became a bit hot and stuffy - David did offer someone to come round to fix it the day before we left but would have meant an early awakening after a late Thursday night so we left it for turnaround day. It was reassuring to know that there was security on the gate. The table tennis pavilion and billiards room were well used! Both nice places for my lads to be occupied when we weren’t out on the water. Lots to do all round. Overall a lovely experience. Thank you to David for his quick communication - always reassuring to know that there is a “real” person willing to help with any queries.

Windrush Lodge

Excellent place to stay, photos do not do it justice as the property has been upgraded since and it is really spacious. Plenty of watersports, fishing, eating and drinking opportunities, along with some peace and quiet and Cotwolds charm.

Family break.

The accommodation was exactly as described and lived up to our high expectations. The owners met us on arrival and made us feel welcome. The hot tub was great for the kids especially in the rain! We would not hesitate to recommend this property to our family and friends.

But the hottub is good anyway....particularly nice to sit in it under the stars as you don't feel anything but the warm bubbling water....getting out isn't so funny though when there is frost around! Brilliant Staycation

This is a beautiful property which is really well located for a family holiday in the UK. A very quiet location for younger kids to ride bikes, play tennis, football and in the play park. Rosemarie is a lovely host with great knowledge of the area and keen to help. The description and pictures are perfect for the property. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Extremely comfortable

The property entirely lived up to our expectations for a relaxed holiday stay. The spacious, extremely comfortable lounge and dining area were perfect for us. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering, and the Lodge benefits from two comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms and downstairs cloakroom. The attractive location on Windrush Lake was ideal for walks in and around the water park and a trip into Cheltenham. We would certainly recommend the property to friends and relatives. It was very helpful that the owners met us at the beginning and end of our stay.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We do benefit from a super location on the lake, but also we are so close to many places of interest whether its quaint little villages, designer shopping, water sports (well perhaps not at Christmas) or Roman mosaics! I am a little surprised you didn't find the third bedroom but as the beds in the other two are SO comfortable, Guess there was no need to find it. We always meet our guests as it is so much easier if someone explains how the TV works and how to turn on the bubbles in the hottub! And tell them how to find a really good pub!

The Schiemanns have stayed in our lodge previously, it is really pleasing to us that they like it so much that they have returned twice. They are very easy to deal with and communication is prompt. Ideal retreat for exploring the Cotswolds

We stayed at Lodge 5 Windrush Lake to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. We had a wonderful weeked, the owners Rosemarie & Martin were there to meet and welcome us. The lodge had everything, it was so homely and comfortable. We were fortunate to have some wonderful weather and used the BBQ on two evenings after exploring the surrounding area and villages, and relaxed in the evenings in the lovely hot tub. If we return to the Cotswolds we will definitely be booking Lodge 5 again and highly recommend, we were three couples but the lodge is suitably equipped for a family Sept 2015

A holiday which could not have been better!

What a superb choice for a surprise 60th birthday trip for my husband. Right through from the original booking the owner (Rosemarie) was so very helpful and cupcakes and a bottle of bubbly for the birthday boy on arrival was much appreciated. The lodge is beautifully furnished on all three floors using top quality fixtures and fittings. It has everything you need for your holiday stay and was particularly well kitted out for my 11 month old granddaughter. There was plenty to do in the area for the active amongst our group whilst others enjoyed chilling out in the wonderful hot tub even in the rain (complete with thunder and lightning)! We became so relaxed that we began to feel the lodge was our second home and did not want to leave. I am sure we will be making a return visit.

Outstanding!

We were after a relaxing break in the Cotswolds and 5 Windrush Lodge exceeded our expectations. From being greeted personally by the owner Rosemary (a lovely lady) with freshly baked cup cakes to the spacious lodge that had everything we wanted. Everything worked well from the hot tub to wifi and sky hd. We couldn't fault a thing. There's as much or as little to do as you wish in the surrounding area and if you're into walking, cycling or water sports / sailing, you just can't go wrong. We'll definitely be back!!!

This beautiful lakeland area, called the Cotswold Lakes is set within the Cotswolds and has so much to offer everyone, From families, couples to groups of friends. Nature reserves to watersports, cucling to walking trails. Also it is really close to Cirencester which is great for shopping, restaurants, cafe's, arts and culture.

The lakeside setting and private hot tub with so many excellent on-site facilities in site at this gated and secure holiday home development. Only a short walk to pubs, restaurants, bars and watersports. Love watching the wildlife on the lake and we are told there is excellent fishing on-site too.
