Academy Place | Wild Iris

Academy Place Wild Iris is one of our luxurious townhomes located in the multiplex building around the Academy Place Courtyard. Academy Place is just a short walk from bus stops, Elk Avenue, and the grocery store. It is located just across the street from Crested Butte’s new Center for the Arts, with wonderful events to attend.The open space between the building and the street allows for fantastic views of Mt. Crested Butte from the primary bedroom, while the other side of the building faces the beautiful courtyard. This building was finished in 2025, meaning that Wild Iris has extremely up to date appliances and is one of the newest additions to the beautiful town of Crested Butte.

When you walk in, Wild Iris has a living/dining space with a large television, counter space for additional seating, and powder room. Across the room, Wild Iris boasts a fully equipped kitchen with full sized appliances and cookware, including a large refrigerator, espresso machine, drip coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave, wine fridge, and dual-sided sink. The counter space is ample for your cooking needs, and the kitchen is stocked with cookware such as pots, pans, dishes, large bowls, etc. Upstairs, the primary suite has a large king bed with views of Mt. Crested Butte, a walk-in closet, and an expansive bathroom featuring a soaking tub and a steam shower. One more floor upstairs is the rooftop patio, with a gorgeous view of both East to Mt. Crested Butte and West towards Red Lady. The patio has a private hot tub, grill, and furnishings. The rooftop patio is between those of Marsh Marigold and Wild Iris, though partitions make the patios more private. Downstairs, Wild Iris has an additional king bedroom, a queen/twin bunk bedroom, one full bathroom, and the washer/dryer.

Compared to other Academy Place units, Wild Iris’ layout is identical to Marsh Marigold’s. The only differences are that Wild Iris is closer to the street rather than the alley, and the rooftop patio is between Marsh Marigold’s and Larkspur’s. There are some decoration differences as well! Larkspur also has the same layout except it is on the end of the building so it has more windows for airflow and sunlight, but is closer to the road. Wild Iris, as a townhome, does share walls with other units which is different from the cottages, but it has stunning views that cannot be seen from such cottages. Lastly, this unit has two full baths and a half bath, while the cottages have one additional bathroom. Overall, you truly cannot choose wrong and it’s just a matter of preference!
