The Red Barn Cottage

Truly a unique cottage, in a beautiful setting. Go back in time on this 6-acre hideaway. Was a previously working farm. Explore the old red barn, walk the wooded trails or fish in the pond. Spend the day sightseeing at all the Shawnee National Park attractions nearby, such as Garden of the Gods, Fern Clyffe State Park, and many others. Just 5 to 7 minutes away from Sahara Woods Fishing and Hunting area.
The old farmhouse is a one-of-a-kind place to relax, surrounded by farms and fields. Just recently had a total makeover. Leather furniture, wood floors, barn wood, and metal ceilings. The fireplace surround is a unique stone, personally gathered from a local quarry. Artwork and antiques add to the warm and inviting atmosphere. The kitchen is fully furnished with cookware and has all modern appliances and a gas grill outback. Relax and enjoy a quiet dinner inside or dine and have a drink under the star on the new private deck. Or if you prefer, dine out at one of the many great unique local restaurants. Take advantage of the newly remodeled bathroom with shower/bath, premium towels, and extra toiletries if you forget something.

When it is time to relax, enjoy the master bedroom with a king bed, premium linens, with laundry room and closet attached. Or retire to the guest room with a full bed and a twin bunk and a unique farmhouse closet. Have extra guests? Queen automatic blow-up air mattress and linens available to put in the office area.
Dogs are welcome with a pet deposit and pet fee but please respect the home and property. We ask that you clean up after your pet on the property so that other guests can enjoy the property
There is a tiny house cabin on the backside of the property, available through VRBO as well if more space is needed. Please remember this is the country and not the city sidewalks. Please be sure to watch your step and your children around the property, pond, and barn areas.
When exploring the barn please stay downstairs.
Please bear with us while we make improvements to the pond for even more enjoyment.

Also, there is a mowed path on the property that measures out to be just over a half-mile walk, great for evening exercise and a nature walk.
Please note that guests are not permitted to hunt on this property. During October and November, the owner of the property will be blocking off the back part of the property.
Enjoy nature and relax. No Wi-fi, but great cellular service if you need to use your hotspot or other devices.

The property is just 5 to 7 minutes away from the Sahara Woods Fishing and Hunting area and the brand new ATV park. The OHV trails at Sahara Woods are a recent development, designed to cater to the growing demand for motorized recreation.
There will be no hunting on the property, but feel free to walk and enjoy the 6-acre property with a 1-mile mowed walking trail.
