Amazing stay!!!

The property is exactly what is described. We didn’t know how we felt about going without electric… that was the most amazing part!!! It was so nice to talk without disruption or distractions. I will definitely stay here when I come back!!!

Family getaway

The property was incredibly beautiful. The property manager was very kind and easy to work with. They replaced firewood as we used it daily in the fireplace. It was very clean. Propane lighting took a little time to get use to. I kept reaching for the light switch…..😋 No WI-FI was okay and allowed us to unplug from the world but was a bit bothersome as I dropped my husband off for a fly fishing walk and had to guess when he would be through. Next time we will purchase a satellite phone just for emergencies and fishing. We would definitely stay again.

Oleo Ranch is an amazing place.

This was our second stay at Oleo Ranch. The first was in 2020. The location is ideally situated between Creede and Lake City making both easily accessible. We love the opportunity to fish in the ponds and river. We were able to have a meal of fried fish one night. The remodeling and upgrades to the property were beautiful. They kept the "off the grid" feel while upgrading the comfort of the experience. The motion light in the bathroom was especially appreciated for those middle of the night calls. I would strongly recommend Oleo Ranch as a place to stay and I hope to get back there again.

New owner

I was skeptical of new ownership under VRBO, but many needed updates were made. The fishing was good in spite of feeding them “to get them fat” according to the owner. The manager was excellent in all respects. Some homeyness was missing because the decor didn’t include wildlife pictures of the property. We enjoyed our visit and will probably visit again.

Great Place to Unplug!

We had a great week in the Alabama Cabin at Oleo Ranch! Very clean and comfortable cabin. The fishing was great and we saw moose every day! The Davis’s were awesome on-site hosts and very attentive to making sure everything was taken care of. Hope to be back soon!

Quarantine/ATV Rides

Considering recent events we were ready to "get away". Craig's property was perfect! Although there are 7 cabins on the property you still felt like you were there all alone. The property was beautiful with moose every morning and evening. The managers were beyond helpful with sharing the best ATV rides in the area. We took our ATV out and enjoyed the gorgeous mountains of Colorado then returned to the cabin for relaxing. It was great to unplug! I was concerned about no electricity but quickly realized it was not a problem at all...but a blessing!

GREAT VACATION GET AWAY

This was a great vacation for our family. We never missed the electronics or electricity. We got to see lots of wildlife around this cabin moose,deer,elk,and we fished the ponds every day and kids caught lots of trout. We did plan on more scenic drives but kids were having fun fishing and playing card and board games. We are already planning another trip here.

Exactly as advertised

This property was very rustic and comfortable. The lack of electricity was not an issue with us. We did not miss it. The views from the deck are awesome, watched several moose roaming the meadow below our cabin every morning and evening. Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks to Doug and Cary for their hospitality. Their local knowledge was very interesting. We would stay here again.

Wonderful mountain getaway!

Love going to Oleo. We go every year and enjoy getting away from the "rat race". We don't miss the TV, telephone or computer because we are always busy outside. Love the new managers, Cary and Katrina!

A Great place to unwind!

We enjoyed our trip to Oleo Ranch tremendously! The cabin was great - comfortable beds, a full kitchen, a great living area and a wonderful deck. Being able to sit out on the deck, enjoying the views of the mountains and the wildlife just outside the door of the cabin was worth the trip in itself. The flyfishing and regular fishing available on the ponds and creek on the ranch was great not to mention the other fishing available on nearby lakes or the Rio Grande River. There were plenty of other activities around when we wanted to get away from the ranch. We enjoyed driving around sightseeing on some of the backroads and shopping in Lake City and Creede. If you are wanting to get away from it all and just enjoy some peace and quite or to just sit and listen to the breeze blowing through the aspens, Oleo Ranch is where you want to be. This was the first time my family had truely been in the mountains and we are all planning on making this trip into an annual outing. We hope to see you at Oleo next year!
