Escape to this delightful boat moored on South Carolinas premier, upper Santee/Lake Marion watershed. Enter through the lower salon there is a reading area to Stbd and to Port is a 6 person built in table for dining, or gaming or just visiting.
With 3 cozy bedrooms including 1 king bed and 2 queen beds, each suite with private bathroom and deluxe bidet toilets, guests can completely unwind in comfort. Enjoy the tranquil ambiance of the surrounding area while taking advantage of amenities like AC, WiFi, kayaking, fire pit or grilling out on upper deck. Propane grill provided. Fully equipped galley as well as full size washer and dryer. Make your holiday one for the books with a stay at our place. One time 150 passenger excursion veteran of the Inland rivers, The Chattanooga Star is an authentic paddlewheel boat, note 6' 2" ceilings on lower deck. We apologize that the boat and dock facillities are private and are NOT upgradable to handicapped accessible. Also not recommended for young children, however a perfect family vacation spot for ages 11 and up. Kayaks and firepit are available. Boat launch ramp 1/2 mile away, launch and secure your own boat outside master bedroom for ultimate convenience. Perfect for fishing, kayaking or just enjoying the waterfowl and sounds of the swamp. Bedrooms have individual HVAC as well as screened windows. Upper deck is under a large canopy, allowing grilling with outdoor seating on the waterfront always available.

Host is very nice and welcoming. This was a very comfortable and unique stay on the lake. The host did a great job resorting the place and shared all the history of the boat it was cool to hear about all the places it has been. Definitely recommend staying here as a good vacation!

Our stay was very nice. Greeted by owner and felt very welcome! In addition to the clean accommodations it was a beautiful property with goats and other animals to feed. I would definitely recommend it.

Our stay on the Chattanooga Star was magical. Sun rises & sun sets on the top deck, recommended. Lots of interesting birds & the place was conveniently located for checking out the area parks and wildlife refuges. Main bedroom is super cozy & the windows are a bonus.

From start to finish, from the location to the hosts, this was an amazing stay. The "Star" has been truly transformed into an amazing luxury accommodation. Everything has been thought of here. Comfort has been accounted for everywhere as well as convenience. The beds were perfect and everything was so clean. I've stayed in high end hotels that aren't as nice as this. Location wise, it's purely enchanting. The river is flowing past, fish and turtles everywhere, birds flying around, calling and squirrels scurrying around the trees. The hosts have some chickens and guinea fowl and goats that are a real treat to have around. The hosts shared history about the boat and theres a book with a lot of info shared through newspaper clippings as well which provides a rich history of the boat. It's just truly a special place to stay.

River getaway

This was a once in a lifetime mini vacation. Our host, Captain Mike answered all our questions and gave us a brief history of the Star (the boat) She is rich in history. The Star scrapbook tells the whole story. The beds were comfortable and the amenities were many. We did have our boat to use but Capt Mike offered us kayaks. I look forward to our next trip to the Santee River

Looking for a unique place to stay that is relaxing, off the beaten path and brings you together with nature? We enjoyed our tour of the grand vessel with Captain Mike, then we got busy seeking relaxation. We brought plenty of provisions, groceries, wine and such. Although she is well stocked with essentials. Fresh towels, linens all very nice. We were even brought fresh eggs from Captains chickens
. The beds were comfy and each room has its own bathroom with plenty of room!!! She is grand and we enjoyed ourselves
. Bring some paints and paint off the back of the boat!!! Or some fishing poles!!
