Gorgeous Getaway, Close to French Quarter - Unit 1

Gorgeous unit in a grand Victorian home surrounded by all the best the city has to offer. 10-minute walk to the French Quarter and 15-min walk to the Marigny. Large, luxurious, and comfortable, this space incorporates gorgeous architectural details and beautiful art and furniture. One bedroom with a queen bed and Roku TV. Second bedroom has built-in queen bunkbeds (so 3 queen beds total in unit). The large living room is great for entertaining and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. A large backyard garden and courtyard with gazebo is great for outdoor lounging and dining. Come relax, enjoy, and celebrate! (This unit is located on the 1st floor, but requires entry via a front porch with a few stairs. It is one of four units in the house.)

We were initially given the entry code for the wrong unit and couldn’t get ahold of the host, which resulted in us spending time in a studio meant for 1–2 people instead of the unit booked for our family of five. Communication was difficult throughout the stay, and we had to rely on backup contacts for help.There were additional issues, including the power being shut off and a very loud, startling noise from the fridge water dispenser. We also saw similar problems affect another guest who was locked out with no backup key and had to wait in our unit for a locksmith.The location was about a 20-minute walk to the French Quarter, and some areas did not feel very safe at night. The unit was also understocked for five people, with limited towels and toilet paper.Overall, better communication, preparation, and clearer location expectations would have made the stay much smoother.

Nice place!

We truly enjoyed our stay. The apartment we stayed in is part of a multi complex older house. It was very nice. Large kitchen, very comfortable beds. We went with another couple and the bathroom situation worked out just fine. There is a nice sitting area in the back yard and luggage storage is available if you plan to stay in NOLA for a little longer than your stay. Great communication with owner. The neighborhood looks a bit sketchy but we had no issues. We had a couple of visitors stop by and chat with us when we were sitting out on the porch. They were harmless. Mostly they wanted to bum a smoke or something cold to drink. I would stay again if we come back.

Beautiful historic charm property

We were so happy we chose “Gorgeous Getaway” for our trip to NOLA. Since we were coming in for Pokemon NAIC and knew we’d be spending most our time at the convention center I really wanted where we stayed to reflect New Orleans history and culture. We couldn’t have chosen better. Such a beautiful home with incredible accents! Loved the touch of a record player with jazz alums available. Excellent cleanliness. Very conveniently located for a quick drive into the convention center each day. Super comfortable beds for everyone in the family. Unique with amazing charm. We loved everything about our stay here. Thank you so much!

It could be really nice. Maintenance is an issue. Tried to put clothes in the dresser the bottom Drawer face fell off. The tub/shower valve was an issue and minimal water came out and it either burned you or froze you. AC units are old and loud but they did work. The turn table record player is a nice touch. Furniture is cute . Didn't watchTV So cant elaborate on that. It has old school appeal. If you're expecting perfection its not. It is close to most everything and its a quiet neighborhood. The price is good, it could use some TLC.

Three day stay

The property was cute and very New Orleansy!!The furniture in living room was not very comfortable! TV in living room could use an upgrade to a bigger size!The water pressure for shower was not good at all!!The dishware and flatware could use an upgrade! Although we only ate in one night, but others may want to take advantage of the kitchen! Not recommended for those with difficulty walking! It's about 20-25 minutes from Bourbon Street! We walked a few times but Lifted mostly! Also the parking is expensive in town! Almost 40 for 2 hours! So if you're looking to be able to walk everywhere this is not for you! It is on a very quite street though with a small restaurant on the corner at the end of the street! And convenient stores very close! The beds were comfortable and the bunk was very easy to access for my 30 year old daughter!

Perfect in every way

Beautiful place in a perfect area. The property is in a quiet area but the French Quarter is easily accessible (a short 15-20 minute walk). The unit itself was perfect - immaculately clean, very comfortable, and well stocked. We didn’t come to New Orleans for the lodging but I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else if I’m lucky enough to make it back this way again.
