Great place to get away

We only stayed one night, but we could see a weekend or longer. Great place in the mountains, beautiful house with great views. The kids loved the pool, game room and theater. The hosts are great with communicating prior and during the trip if needed. I would definitely recommend a stay here. 10 minute drive to town if needed.

Lots of Space!!!

Space for everyone. 2 full kitchens, outdoor grill. Great house for a week or weekend getaway. Property manager really nice and helpful.

Didn't receive check in instructions until 15 minutes prior to arrival (had asked for them well beforehand). Upon arrival the home was still being cleaned and continued well after our arrival - with just adequate results. The Sauna was not operative throughout our stay. The pool was not used, as it was not heated. The Pool Table was OK but the corner pockets were dislocated from the table and the table was located too close to one wall where you could not play a shot on that side of the table. The main stove was missing knobs and only two of the knobs were capable of operating the five burners. The kitchen cupboards were plentiful but mostly empty. A lack of decent silverware, Pots and pans that need updating, very few coffee cups, and very few spices (especially keeping in mine this is a home that is advertised as- sleeps up to 16). There were a few other minor problems, but the point here is these are all very easily fixable problems. The home itself was large and comfortable for our group of 10. The beds were comfortable with new sheets on most beds; the Hot Tub was great and used often. We loved the Golf Simulator and it was the highlight for those of us who golfed. The bridge will be complete very soon, so future occupants need not worry about access. This home could and should be rated higher, but much TLC needs to be applied.

Our experience in this house was horrible. The house is very nice inside, but some parts were dirty. For example, the grill was very dirty and had no gas; we had to wash the sheets because they were dirty; and some doors didn't work. The host didn't respond quickly to our questions and was very annoying, constantly asking us to turn down the music because his wife couldn't sleep. However, before all this, he warned us that the house's walls didn't transmit sound and that there was no problem with the music volume. They didn't tell me or my family that there were other people living in the house. The host had told me that the music wasn't a problem, but it seemed they were about to report us because it was for them. Also, before we left, they told us to leave the dishes washed and the house clean, and they are charging us money for them to do the cleaning. So, my family and I are determined not to rent it again, and we would never recommend it.

We were very excited to spend a long weekend at this property based on the listing and photos, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to expectations.We arrived at 6 PM—two hours after the scheduled check-in time—and were surprised to find the cleaner still there. She apologized and explained that the previous guests had left the home in terrible condition after the 4th of July. While we felt bad for her, the house was clearly not ready: there was a strong odor (a mix of alcohol and something else), the kitchen sink was clogged and dirty, the BBQ area still had leftover food and clothing, and the upstairs AC wasn’t working. The pool, which was a key reason we chose this property, was dirty and only half full—completely unusable.The host was responsive and apologetic. We understand completely that what happened in the house prior to us arriving was was out of his control. He acknowledged the issues and said he would contact VRBO to initiate a refund. We ultimately left and drove to Asheville to find another house. The refund process, took two weeks, multiple emails to VRBO, and texts and calls to the host. That part could have been handled much more efficiently. Guests shouldn’t have to chase down a refund when the home clearly wasn’t in acceptable condition.In short, while the listing looks great, our actual experience did not reflect what was advertised. We wouldn’t go back.
