à propos de cet hébergement
This farmhouse is a 2 bedroom(s), 1 bathrooms, located in Cornville, AZ.
Peaceful, unique, romantic and fun, this 1930âs restored stone and log cottage (1500sf) overlooks a one acre herb & flower garden with red rock terraces and views of Oak Creek and the vineyards along Page Springs Road. Page Springs is home to the Sedona areaâs finest vineyards & tasting experiences. You will be close to hiking trails as well as Sedona attractions. Roam the herb and flower far, enjoy its harvests. Knowledgeable & helpful host can help make yours a great experience!
I live next door and am around unless I'm out of town in which case I'm available by phone or messages. Please use the farm entrance at 2670 N Page Springs Rd unless directed otherwise - there are two driveways and sometimes people get confused. I live at 2680 where driveway has an arch and that is the entrance to our other vacation rental options.
Page Springs Road is THE place to be for vineyard tours, wine tasting and airbnb experiences. It is a historic scenic route and an alternative way to get to Sedona. We are between Cottonwood, Sedona and Cornville. Its lush because its home to abundant springs feeding Oak Creek. There are several wineries within 1.5 miles and our favorites are Javelina Leap and DA Ranch. There is some good hiking from the property with a trail right up the hill behind our house that leads to 360degree views to Sedona, Mingus Mountains and the Verde Valley. Or get going to Sedona Red Rock Trails, Red Rock State Park, the Verde River and Oak Creek is flowing right here as well. There are several little known access points within a mile of here. We love the bird sanctuary down the road (a mile) where there is usually ample parking and great for morning and evening walks with abundant bird life attracted to the ponds and creek.
You can roam the property which is fully fenced (2.5acres) and please access the trail we built on adjacent forest service land. Feel free to wander in the garden and the host can show you what can be picked and enjoyed. itâs a permaculture approach so itâs densely Inter-plantedâŠat this early stage Iâm focused on building soil by planting as much as I canâŠrather than neat monocultural rows.
Inside the house there are a few areas where I keep my own itemsâŠ
- There is a closet in the living room which contains extra linens and also a few of my personal items.
- There is also a supply closet next to the bathroom.
- The bookshelves contain my books which you are welcome to peruse but please return all books....there are also a few games and kids activity books, markers and paper.
In the kitchen, I have provided items to share with guests -- tea, coffee, spices and some basic cooking ingredients are available for your convenience -- oils, vinegars, cornstarch, sugar, baking powder/soda, etc. If you need anything that can make your stay more comfortable, I'm right next door and we probably can accommodate your request.
I have a washing machine and laundry line to dry as well as a dryer on the back patio. On the line or rack, your clothes dry almost instantly in this weather and smell so fresh. We could arrange to launder your clothes at the main house if that is needed as an extra service.
This stone house features an extra large, east facing front porch with log columns and beams, a huge breezy flagstone patio with great views, outdoor dining, an outdoor kitchen, bbq, lighting, and plenty of seating.
The house has an almost one acre farm-garden in front and we are busy growing food, growing the soil (permaculture) and building stone walls (terrace gardens). Its gorgeous in every season, with waves of flowers blooming from March to November and in the winter you can appreciate the perennial lavender, white sage, still small fruit trees including olives, pomegranates, figs and other fruits. I planted 100 grape vines along the fence and grape trellises. The long trellis supports squashes, cucumbers and gourds. This year I have planted a special area for guests to harvest and learn about seasonal produce.
From the porch, step into the quaint kitchen which leads into a spacious living area with east-and west facing windows. The living room has a large leather couch and an armchairs, a dining room table that can extend to seat 6, a smart TV and high-end stereo to stream music from the TV apps or your phone.. The stone fireplace has been refurbished with a glass-door fireplace insert for cozy winter evening fires. The other side of the living area features a desk and is set up as a workspace, There is a leather pullout sleeper couch if you need extra sleep arrangements.
From the living area walk down the hall past the kitchen and to the right is a bedroom with a queen bed, a single chair pullout bed, a full sized antique dresser, a sitting area and door to private patio and west facing windows.
Continue down the hall and the bathroom with tub and shower is to your left.
At the end of the hall is a bedroom with windows on three sides and magnificent morning light. The window behind the bed allows you to see the stars at night or moonlight streaming in over the king-sized bed which is a tempurpedic mattress with mattress topper. There is also an armoire for hanging your clothes and holds extra blankets and pillows.
The flower garden extends down the gently sloped field with a series of red rock terraces with lavender and white sage, fruit trees and many herb varieties. In season you are welcome to share the bounty of seasonal veggies, and a variety of herbs for your salad â- basil, arugula, oregano, rosemary, cilantro, mint, lemon balm, parsley, and other herbs. Just ask me for a tourâŠ..
This is a great location out of the busy energy of Sedona....we are just a mile from 89A which can take you to Cottonwood/Clarkdale/Jerome when you go left from Page Springs Rd. Going Right on 89A you are 10 scenic miles from Sedona. Going left on 89a from Page Springs Rd takes you to Cottonwood, Clarkdale and Jerome.
From our driveway going left takes you to 89A, and going to the right on Page Springs Rd leads you to Cornville , passing four wonderful vineyards and wineries along the way. DA Ranch about 1.25miles on the left...then Javelina Leap another quarter mile or so and next to Oak Creek Vineyards...keep going and on the right is Page Springs Cellars ( reservations recommended!)
Page Springs Road going south (right) from our place ends at a T-junction with Cornville Rd. Taking Cornville Rd to the left, travel 10 minutest to the I-17. Taking a right on Cornville Rd, explore Cornville, the Creek and continue on to old town Cottonwood.
I am happy to show you around the garden and show you items that you can harvest. There's an awesome trail behind the house. It's on Coconino National Forest land accessible through the gate at the end of the driveway. The first part is steep and a bit rocky and leads to first summit and then on to the top where it follows a ridge with 360 degree views to Sedona red rocks, Jerome, Cottonwood and Mingus mountains. Itâs about 15 mins up to see the views.
We donât have any pets here but I do love all animals and am open to meeting yours. Please ALWAYS latch and close the farm gate closed to keep out garden-destroying Javelinas and to keep your pets away from the road!
