Escape & Relax at The Getaway in Locust Lake! Perfect Place for Families and Friends to reconnect with nature and spend time to enjoy each other. With Lakes and beaches in walking distance, access to a private hot tub and grill, with numerous attractions just a couple miles away this place is perfect. Locust Lake also offers community playgrounds, tennis and volleyball courts, picnic areas and when weather permits a ski lift with hill.

Quiet Setting in the woods.

This open lay out cozy cabin in a quiet wooded area is ready for you. Offering 3 bedrooms, 6 queen beds, 2 full baths, plus an additional communal room with 3 queen beds, a wood burning fireplace, back private deck with a pergola, grill, hot tub and a fire pit to gather around under the stars. Air conditioning is a window unit with multiple fans supplied. With Tall Beautiful Trees covering the perimeter of the land this house offers completely private surroundings.

Choose from 3 Different Lakes each with a beach, childrens playground, volleyball and tennis courts and 1 with boat rental. (two lakes in walking distance from home)

You have entire cabin to yourself. The front door has a keyless entry-smart lock. A unique code will be provided for your stay and will expire at check out.

If you plan to bring a pet, kindly specify this during booking process. An $80 per pet per stay, max 3 pets.

Please adhere to the 25 MPH speed limit throughout our community. It is monitored closely for the safety of guests within. Guests are responsible for any moving violations incurred.

In accordance to community regulations parties, events, fireworks, and loud music are prohibited. Any fines or violations received during your stay, are responsible to be paid by renter.

Registration of cars and guests is required for your stay, wristbands and relevant info will be provided. Please note: The $35 fee to LLV is now included with your booking if you book after 5/9/2025. Registration must be completed 72 hours prior to check in.
In addition - Registration for personal kayaks, electric boats, canoes, or paddle boards is needed through the community prior to your stay.

Home comes with WIFI and a fire stick please bring login information for the streaming services you use.

Lakes are restocked with fish after/around April 6 each year.

Very Clean home but very quirky

The house was one of the cleanest vacation rentals I have been in. The kitchen had utensils & spices. The living room was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms had nice towels and with shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap. The listing says there is air conditioning and the pictures do not show a window unit or fans so we assumed central air, there is a single window unit in the main room. There were fans supplied but they did not all work. The quirky part is that all of the bedrooms are 1 or 2 steps down from the main living area & the steps are not standard sizes and some of the ceilings are very low. The beds are all soft mattresses that are low to the floor. Some of the bedrooms have no furniture with drawers of any kind. The bathroom sinks are very high – I am only 5’2”, it was very uncomfortable to use the bathroom sinks but I could touch the ceiling in the bedrooms. The 2 bathrooms both have large shower stalls.After we checked in we found racoons had made a nest in the wall of the house, I believe that the host was not aware of this at the time. I think we should have been contacted when handling this, they never made an attempt to call me directly. I was unable to call them but they did have my number. We left early when told that the racoons were likely not going to be out of the wall soon, possibly not for 2-3 weeks. They were noisy at night and shutting doors also blocked air flow making the bedrooms very warm.

Thank you for choosing to stay at our home, Eileen. We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to host you. Unfortunately, your stay was marked by a number of unforeseen challenges, many of which were beyond either of our control. Our home is nestled in a natural, wildlife-rich area where the elements and surroundings can be unpredictable—something that we believe adds to the authentic cabin experience, but may not be ideal for every guest. Slightly addressing the raccoon situation, which we did message about during your stay. They were said to be nestled under the deck and not in the actual home. In addition to the concerns you raised, we did encounter a few issues during your visit. There was a lack of communication regarding the pet you brought, for which the pet fee was not paid, as well as the community fee. We also noted some damage to the home’s cabinetry and there was a lack of effort due to the trash not being properly disposed of upon checkout. We made several efforts to address your concerns during your stay, but ultimately you chose to check out early. We’re sorry that the experience didn’t meet your expectations, and we sincerely hope that future travels bring you to accommodations more aligned with your preferences.
