Art Escape Pottery Retreat - Studio Apartment

Welcome to our little slice of magic in the Salish Mountain foothills. Honestly, there’s nothing we could write here that would describe the beauty of this place better than the photos can—it’s truly something you have to see (and feel) for yourself.
We’re Steve and Elisabeth—Steve’s a ceramic artist and Elisabeth’s a lifelong educator passionate about health and financial literacy. We wanted to create the pottery studio of our dreams tucked away in the forest, and that dream came to life on this peaceful 10-acre property surrounded by larch and pine trees, just seven miles from the breathtaking Tally Lake.
At first, it was just for us. But pretty soon, we realized something was missing: community. The joy of sharing creativity, laughter, and meaningful connection. So, we opened our doors and created Art Escape—part cozy retreat, part playful pottery haven. And Steve always says, there's always time to be a lonesome old man later.
Here, we offer more than a place to stay. You can dive into pottery lessons, book a romantic date night with clay and wine, or simply relax and reconnect. We believe the best learning (and the best memories) happen when you're having fun. If you're visiting with a special someone, you can count on laughter, new experiences, and maybe even a little magic.
Our Studio Apartment has a full bath and kitchen, queen bed for two and literally attached to the pottery studio where you can create to your heart's delight. Each stay comes with a group wheel lesson or hand-building lesson.
