The island is located 60 miles off the coast of Belize. You have access to Blue Hole, and many other dive sites are available along the largest living barrier reef system in the world. Note: Boat transfer to and from the island is $320 US per person round trip on Wednesdays and Saturdays only. Private charters are available for other days of the week at additional costs. Boat fees are paid directly to the boating captains.
The island house has the ONLY private white sand beach on the island, while steps away from the crystal blue waters. Two bedrooms with queen sized bed, closets, and access to the deck. Full eco bathroom with tile shower, sink, gravity toilet, basic laundry machine, and line dry.
A huge kitchen is perfect for entertaining and/or cooking. There is a full wrap-around deck with a front veranda. There is also a 360-degree Sun-Gazing deck that stands 30 feet high.
There are no stores on the island. After booking, we will help you organize a grocery trip when you arrive in Belize City. Purchase all liquor from duty-free stores in the airport. They have much better pricing, especially for wine. Each adult can get up to 4 full bottles.
The driver will pick you up from the airport, take you to the store, and, if you arrive at the dock by 3 p.m., straight to Long Caye. (Times can change.) The transport from the airport to the store to the dock is $50 US, paid directly to the driver. If you can't arrive at the dock by 3 p.m., you may need to stay on the mainland.
You will cook your meals. There are no restaurants, bars, clubs, cafes, or any facilities or stores on the island. You must bring drinks and food to the island with you.
The home is on the east side of the island, and the sunrises are beautiful. There is a magnificent lookout tower that gives you a 360 view of the island, so the sunsets are just a short stairwell walk away, as well as a view of the lagoon behind the house.
The moon rises late in the evening and lights up the beach. There is also solar lighting that lights up the pathways.
This is an off-grid property. There is internet service and minimal amenities, but more like glamping. Sometimes things can go awry with storms or solar panel issues. Be patient and try and go with the flow. We can assist you as much as possible when these issues occur.
Itza Resort and Huracan Diving are nearby and you can arrange renting paddle boards, kayaks, fishing tools, diving, snorkeling, diving or excursions to the Blue Hole and Half Moon Caye nearby for a fee. Please contact those businesses directly for rates.
There are sun beds, alfresco dining, a BBQ area, and outdoor seating. Check yourself in with the lockbox and soak up the views during your stay.
