Magnifique maison à deux niveaux avec 5 chambres, 4 salles de bain complètes, une grande pièce comprenant une cuisine entièrement équipée, une grande salle à manger et un salon. L'extérieur comprend une grande terrasse donnant sur le lac, accessible depuis le salon.
Deux chambres avec salles de bains attenantes sont situées au niveau principal, chacune avec également son propre accès à la terrasse accueillante. Deux chambres et une troisième salle de bains sont situées au niveau inférieur. De plus, il y a deux lits jumeaux et un lit d'appoint dans la zone commune du niveau inférieur.
Une chambre bonus individuelle avec salle de bain complète offre une chambre queen supplémentaire pour un séjour privé du reste de la maison.
Une promenade de 10 minutes ou une minute en voiture vous amène à un court chemin et une promenade vers le rivage semi-privé pour une grande baignade dans les eaux cristallines à fond sablonneux du lac Portage.
Pour les amateurs de nature, promenez-vous dans les sentiers naturels des zones boisées de cette propriété de 8 acres. Les cerfs et les renards sont monnaie courante. Il y a aussi un grand terrain gazonné ouvert pour toutes les activités sportives familiales.

Had a wonderful time with our family and friends. Have been coming to Onekama since 2004 and this was by far one of the best places we stayed! Loved all the space that we had and the property views and hiking trail were awesome! Would definitely stay again!

The house and setting were perfect for us. Although nicely secluded and private (and very quiet and peaceful), there are nice views of Portage Lake and the sunrise in the mornings. The littles enjoyed the private beach which was perfect for them and just a short walk to get there. We had several deer that would wander around the property and house daily. We enjoyed watching them together. The large dining table made family dinners enjoyable. Manistee and Onekama are minutes away.

August Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Loved being on a private wooded lot with a beautiful lake view. The house was nice and spacious and when we had a question or needed anything Nicole's team was always available and accommodating. The private beach was so nice as was the Lake Michigan beach that was only 10 minutes away. Strongly recommend this property.

Beautiful home overlooking Portage Lake

The home was large enough to comfortably accommodate our large family with room to spare. We had originally planned to bring our dogs though we didn't need to in the end, but it would have been wonderful for them, too. I've told my extended family I'd be happy to return here.

Great Family Getaway!

We loved the location of this house. It was quiet and secluded and was perfect for our family getaway. The house itself was able to accommodate our family's needs. With four couples and a young child, everyone could have their own space and bathroom. The open concept was nice in the evenings for playing games and lounging. We especially loved the open field on the property where we played badminton and wiffle ball. Thank you so much for the beautiful place to make wonderful memories with our family.

We’ve enjoyed this house and its convenient beach access for some years now. The kitchen is great for entertaining and the deck is humongous with a beautiful view of Portage Lake. We appreciated the television upgrade and we're happy to be able to tune in to the Tigers. We’ll be back!

Great Country Nearby Lake Place

The property was clean and comfortable for four adults and 3 children. Lots of open woods and field nearby, great hiking trail, and the deck outside was overlooking Portage Lake to the north. Just a short walk down the hill to our private but small beach with a bit of sand and nice chairs. Could launch our kayaks from here across Portage Lake. Manistee and Onekama nearby. Lake Michigan sunsets just a 15 minute walk to the west with a nice channel. Only drawback was that the basement bedrooms were a bit musty.

Great location

Great location with very lovely grounds. Love the cabin like atmosphere. So many rooms and beds! The downstairs is a bit musty and somewhat moist. Also my other two recommendations for this house are 1. Get a coffee pot with an automatic shut off. 2. The house did not appear to be vacuumed. Other than that we had a fantastic stay with a great view! Thank you!

Nice older house near Portage Lake

We stayed here with two other families. House is laid out very nicely so the children could have their section downstairs and the adults could have privacy upstairs (and in the bonus space near garage). Portage Lake is beautiful and surprisingly quiet. Views from the deck are lovely and there is much privacy. The listing for the house is a bit misleading though. The path to Portage Lake is across the street and through someone else's side yard and leads to some bramble and marsh rather than a sandy beach. There is also no easy way to walk to Lake Michigan from the house if you plan to swim. It's an easy drive to lots of public beaches on Lake Michigan and the public beach in Onekama is quite nice (with an ice cream/sandwich shop right by). The house is a bit dated and can certainly use some lighting in the dining area. It's also quite a workout bringing the trash down the large hill to the street.

We regret the confusion regarding the access to Portage Lake. To remedy any future confusion we have marked more clearly the entrance to the path and boardwalk leading to the lakeshore. It was a big issue but the property management team respond so quickly to the problem that I do not go into any more details. Once the problem was corrected we had a wonderful time at the property. The house has a beautiful back desk and is very spacious. The room were comfortable and each bathroom had a shower. My only small complaint was we could not get the TV to work in the basement. But the TV in the main living space worked fine. The beach access is not directly on the property. You have to go across the street to access it. But is nice and a great place to swim. They provide chairs too which is very nice. Overall it was a great place to stay.

Annual Family Vacation

Reviewer Comments: This is the eighth year for our family to take a week-long group vacation with a group of 8 adults, four kids, and this year we had dogs that joined in the fun as well! The property is large (I think 8 acres?) which was wonderful for our active family . The large open meadow provided a great space for our silly games and kickball. There is a .5 mile beautiful marked trail through the woods that was a much -loved activity. There is ample parking, access to a small beach on Portage lake and it is an easy drive to Lake Michigan beaches, including dog-friendly beaches. There is one bedroom/bath that is detached (garage conversion) that worked out really well for our family. There was plenty of gathering space in the main room and on the large porch facing the lake. A large dining table was put to good use at night as we played a wide variety of games (our age ranges were 5-68) Our one question about trash pick up was quickly answered. The reservation process was easy, and I did end up talking to the office three times with questions--and they were very patient! Everyone voted a big 'yes' when asked if this was a place we'd like to visit again.

Beach ⛱️ property stay

We loved the location and the house was very spacious for our family. It was clean and well stocked but a new frying pan is needed as the Teflon was scraped off. Also the TV in the living room was wobbly and we had to stabilize it with boxes underneath. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay!!

Lot's of sleeping space for large groups worked out well, including the separate bedroom in the detached garage. Overall, the house is in good shape though there is no central AC, so it can be humid sometimes depending on the weather, but unless it's really humid outside it stays very cool in the house with the windows open. The basement sleeping area is damp and had a dehumidifier running most of the time we were there. The neighborhood is quiet with a short trail right off the front yard of the house. It is a great rental if you have a dog, though if they chase squirrels, rabbits, or deer, keep an eye on them!

It was a very nice stay. We get VRBOs for every vacation. Initially the power was unavoidably off. Britta was a great help and worked with the power company. It was back on by evening. The property was fine, and we had a party of 13 who fit comfortably..

Family vacation

Best family vacation yet. Everyone enjoyed the comfort of the house the large yard, trail through the woods, private beach and the view of the lake from the deck. Kitchen was perfectly laid out and made cooking for 11 easy. If the house had air conditioning ( knew it didn’t when I booked it) we would make this our yearly vacation spot
