Beautiful Remote Waterfront Yurts,

Our two beautiful yurts are located off the road and grid far from the crowds in southeast Alaska. You cannot drive to our Yurts. We transport you in our 24ft cabin cruiser on arrival/departure.

Our location is ideal for for wildlife viewing, nature walks along forest trails, saltwater and freshwater fishing , canoeing & kayaking in the bay and river system and self guided hunting for Black Bear and Deer.

The space
Two 14 ft diameter yurts with ocean views from inside and from the large decks. Each yurt has two single beds, full linens, pillows and blankets, and a chair.

The yurts have a capacity of 2 people each and are ideal for groups of 2,3 and 4, as well as the single traveler. If you book just one Yurt for 2 people, we will not book the other yurt with another group, and so you will have maximum privacy for your stay.

There is a separate building with a full bathroom, and kitchenette. We provide fresh towels.

The bathroom is fully equipped with sink, toilet, shower and hot and cold running water. The shower has views across the bay.

The kitchenette is equipped with a camping style 2 ring gas rings, sink, hot and cold running water and seating area for a couple of people.

The yurts, bathroom and kitchen are equipped with 12 volt lights. There is no 110v power to the yurts or kitchen/bathroom.
Guest access
The yurts have a capacity of 2 people each and are ideal for groups of 2, 3 and 4, as well as the single traveler.

If you book just one Yurt for 2 people, we will not book the other yurt with another group, and so you will have maximum privacy for your stay.
Other things to note
Transportation

The yurts are located off of the road system and can only be accessed by a 30 minute boat from Knudson Cove Marina which is about 40 minutes by Taxi from Ketchikan. We will meet you at the marina and transport you out to the rental property in our 24ft cabin cruiser. And of course, take you back to the road at the end of your stay.

Food/Meals

Please note. This is a rental, not a lodge, or bed and breakfast. No meals are provided. Due to the remote off road location, guests will need to bring all food for all meals for the duration of their stay. This can be purchased in Ketchikan after arrival before coming out to the Marina. We recommend you shop at the Alaskan and Proud Grocery Store, which is a few minutes by Taxi from the Airport (or a short walk). Ketchikan also has a selection of good sporting stores if any additional fishing or hiking gear is needed.

We do provide all cooking pots, pans, utensils, and basics such as cooking oil, tea, coffee; sugar, salt.

Flight Arrival/Departure times.

Arrival: We recommend guests arrive in Ketchikan late morning / early afternoon which will give a few hours for shopping, before taking the taxi out to Knudson Cove Marina. We will pick you up any time from noon onwards when you have finished your shopping and transport you out to your vacation yurts.

Departure: We recommend departing from Ketchikan late morning/early afternoon and we will get you back to the road / Knudson Cove Marina by 09:00 hrs on the day of your departure. If you are on a later flight, you are free to enjoy the yurts a little longer and check out around 1.00pm.

Please note, due to the risk of occasional early morning fog, we cannot guarantee getting you back to the road in time for the very first flight out of Ketchikan. If you have no choice, and can only depart on the first flight we recommend that you stay in town the evening before your departure from Ketchikan. I.E: Guests will need to book an additional night at a hotel in Ketchikan after your stay with us.

Cell Phone / Internet access

We do not provide internet access, but most cell phones (with data) do work at our location, but can be poor/intermittent in bad weather.

16ft Skiff/25 HP Outboard

We provide a complimentary skiff. We will provide fuel at cost. Fishing equipment is provided. Guests will need to bring their own bait (which can be purchased at the A&P Grocery Store). Lost lures, flashers etc will be charged at cost.

Canoes & Kayak

We provide a complimentary double canoe, single canoe and two single kayaks.
