Thank you for staying with us. I'm sorry we didn't earn a 5 star review, but I understand some guests just don't leave 5 star reviews. This is a comfortable family home right on the water in the best location in the area right next to the causeway. When I saw this house after years of research, I knew it was the best. Right on the water with no large cliff or stairs and no dirt road. And on the Georgia side so I could watch the sunset unlike the Alabama side which gets only sun rise over the lake. All that with a double decker porch and I was sold. After a lot of comparison, this is the best spot on the lake.

I appreciate that you admit this is a retaliatory review because you are angry about not getting a refund. This guest booked my home for 2 nights AFTER knowing that a winter storm was coming through other regions of the country (not my area). Other people asked about coming down south to stay, but this man had already booked. He was unable to find the lock box for the gate-remote (which everyone else has found and there is another one inside), but did NOT contact me. Then, he tells me that they are checking out in the late afternoon and would like a refund for one night after I have turned away other guests. He tried to use the storm as an excuse which was irrational since the storm was already in full force at the time he booked. Then, he tried to use the lack of heat as an excuse which was also irrational since the tripped-breaker only knocked out the back-room outlets and not the HVAC. Only a week after leaving did he mention the front TV not working as yet another excuse. Also, he makes it sound like they were stuck without a TV which again is irrational as there are 4 TVs in the house including one in each bedroom. Additionally, the cleaner noted and sent pictures of a large gash or scrape in the top of the front room table right at the front entrance. I addressed all of this with the guest and informed him that I would not issue a refund. Simply, this man had a rotation of excuses and has left this review in retaliation even though I didn't charge damages.
