This is a well-located and attractive apartment with shops and restaurants very nearby - a great place for our family to stay, and Ombretta was a very welcoming host.

Charming historic building

The photos and descriptions of the charming apartment are very accurate. The floor to ceiling windows lookout over a beautiful park and the apartment is very spacious. It’s a good location for walking the city to historical sites and restaurants and shopping. The host ombretta is a charming woman who has lived there all her life and made us feel very welcome. She made the whole visit special.

Beautiful historical site

We were enchanted with the site especially the gorgeous courtyard. The apartment was clean and in good condition. Good for a family with one or two children - one room is actually the loft area upstairs so is better for adults or older children as there is no door or separating wall. Lovely grassy track across the street, clearly an ancient arena, and great gelato and pizza right downstairs. Large park right around the corner and many wonderful historic sights in short walking distance. Owner very friendly and accommodating.

Perfect Stay in Ferrara

We loved the apartment, the location and the city. Everything in the neighbourhood. We stayed with a family of 5 and really needed the airco. The apartment is cosy and comfortable and has everything you need. Late evening it can be a little noisy, but we were not really bothered. The garage was a great add-on and the availability of the bikes. Ombretta is a great host with tips and very responsive. She even brought the kids to the station, very kind. And do not forget to get the best ice cream (gelateria la romana) ever in the street.

Beautiful apartment in a historic palace

The apartment, which is in a beautiful palace, is bright, spacious, very tastefully decorated, clean and well equipped. The location is ideal for walking around Ferrara and visiting other cities in this beautiful region. There are shops, restaurants and cafes/gelaterie on the doorstep and Ombretta gave us a lot of advise and ideas on where to eat and what to visit. She was also very accommodating and friendly. For us the fact that we could park in such a central location was a bonus and the garage was the old horse stable - fascinating! Ombretta also offer her guests the free use of push bikes to go around town like a real Ferrarese. We loved our stay and I would definitely recommend it. Assunta and Marcus

Beautiful holidays in Ombrettas apartment

In July/Aug. 2013, we spent 3 weeks in Ombrettas apartment in the Renaissence Palace in the center of Ferrara. The flat is confortable, very well decorated and equipped with all you need. During the hot weather, we were happy to use the air conditioning. When we came back from our trips to the interesting cities of the Emilia Romagna we were happy to enjoy the apartment. Ferrara is a historical city, where you can discover many sights. Ombretta is a very sympathetic and lovely lady. We will not forget her help in a difficult situation. Thank you very much again! Met all expectations and beyond.

We were met on arrival by Ombretta the apartment owner and made very welcome. Ombretta explained the essential workings in the apartment, and showed us where the supermarket was. Ferrara is the perfect place to stay and well located to travel by train to Bolognia, Florence, Venice etc, and return in the evening to the peace of Ferrara. The history, it's residents, restaurants and shopping are delightful. The apartment is close to the centre and if you wish to use a bicycle as a mode of transport it is the perfect place to do so. The apartment is in a very old building and on the top floor, so be prepared for the climb, but very well worth it. The apartment is well equipped and very spacious. I look forward to a return visit. Transport direct from Bolognia Airport to Ferrara Castle is available and regular. Very good value.

Comfortable apartment, great location

We stayed in the apartment for 7 days in June, 2013. The owner Ombretta Fabri met us at the apartment and was friendly and helpful. The apartment is spacious, clean and charming, on the top floor of a 15th century palazzo. The apartment itself is very quiet but the front portico of the palazzo is hopping with a bar, pizza and ice cream shops, and a mini-mart. Ferrara was wonderful and a great location from which to explore the area; we took easy day trips to Bologna, Ravenna and Commachio. We had a car with us so the fact that Ombretta has a garage was important. We used the bicycles that came with the apartment for exploring Ferrara. Grocery store was a 10 minute walk (5 minute bike ride) from the apartment. Turns out the wireless internet was actually provided by the town of Ferrara, and although we signed up for it at town hall we were never able to make it work. We recommend this apartment and would stay there again.

Très bonne

Appartement très agréable en mezzanine, avec une chambre et une salle de bains à un niveau et une autre chambre avec salle de bains sur la mezzanine, donc idéal pour 2 couples (ce qui était notre cas). Le salon avec double exposition est très convivial. Tous commerces et restos de quartier à 2 minutes à pied, et les conseils de la propritétaire, qui parle un français parfait, sont précieux. Et c'est en plus très chic d'habiter un palais !

un appartement idéal

Il s'agit du second séjour dans cet appartement que nous effectuons. La première fois, j'étais venu au mois de juillet 2009 avec mon épouse et nous sommes revenus quelques jours avec nos deux filles à l'occasion de la très belle exposition Antonioni. Tout s'est à nouveau très bien passé. Le lieu est magnifiquement situé, dans un palais qui nous donne l'impression d'être à Ferrare, une ville si fascinante. L'appartement est meublé avec goût et il est fonctionnel. Vraiment, nous ne pouvons que le recommander. Allez à Ferrare, vous ne serez pas déçu !

superbe palais

Logement situé en haut d’un palais renaissance rénové avec une très belle cour carrée, larges escaliers en marbre de Vérone menant aux loggias et étages supérieurs. Spacieux et super équipé, la décoration du logement est chaleureuse et harmonieuse : on s’y sent comme chez soi. Literie et fauteuils confortables. Vues sur la place animée. Situation à tout point de vue idéale pour découvrir la ville de Ferrara à pied ou à vélo (mis à disposition!) ; garage dans l’enceinte du bâtiment. Sur place, beaucoup de documentation, tant sur la demeure que sur la ville ou les cités environnantes. La propriétaire nous conseille également quelques bons restaurants et lieux à visiter. Venise, Ravenne, Bologne, Padoue, Vérone, République libre de Saint Marin et bien d’autres cités plus secrètes comme Commacchio ne sont pas loin. La propriétaire a tout fait pour rendre notre séjour agréable. Nous n’en revenons pas d’avoir pu trouver un logement de vacances d’un tel niveau à un prix très correct. Nous gardons un très très bon souvenir de notre séjour.

Sehr schöne, persönlich eingerichtete, ruhige und geräumige Wohnung in toller Lage mit sehr angenehmer Vermieterin. Wir haben uns willkommen gefühlt. Burg, Museen usw fußläufig erreichbar, Bus vor der Tür, mit etwas Glück auch kostenfreie Parkplätze.

Freue mich auf ein Wiedersehen

Eins steht fest: sollten wir wieder nach Ferrara reisen, wählen wir erneut diese liebevoll eingerichtete Wohnung inmitten eines großen Palastes aus dem 15. Jahrhundert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt dort, wurden durch unsere Gastgeberin gut betreut und haben auch Ferrara als Stadt schätzen gelernt. Denn es gibt eine Menge zu sehen und zu entdecken dort. Außerdem liegt Ferrara sehr günstig, um von dort aus viele andere herausragende Städte zu besuchen, so z.B. Venedig, Ravenna, Padua, Bologna oder Modena. Diese Ziele sind übrigens hervorragend mit dem Zug zu erreichen, teils zu sehr günstigen Preisen, wenn man die Fahrkarten z. B. über die train-App bucht. Freue mich schon jetzt auf den nächsten Italien-Urlaub. Christoph Bruckmann

Ferrara - Eintauchen in das italienische Leben

Wunderschöne Wohnung im Zentrum von Ferrara. Eine Stadt abseits vom Massentourismus, die aber einiges zu bieten hat. Sehr nette Vermieterin. Schade das nur ein Fahrrad fahrbereit war, denn Radfahren in der Stadt ist ein Erlebnis. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder.

Schöne Wohnung in stilvollem Palazzo aus dem 15. Jahrhundert

Wir waren rundum zufrieden! Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und bot reichlich Platz für vier Personen. Angenehm fanden wir auch, dass mit zwei Sofas und zwei Sesseln allen bequeme Sitzgelegenheiten zur Verfügung standen. Die Lage ist sehr gut. Die Wohnung liegt in schöner Umgebung und Ferrara lässt sich von dort wunderbar zu Fuß erkunden.

Lovely apartment in Ferrara

This is a lovely apartment in a beautiful city. It has everything one needs for a comfortable stay. In addition, the owner of the apartment is very helpful and accommodating. The apartment is in a excellent location - an easy walk to the city center and plenty of places nearby to get food, coffee and gelato. Overall, it's an outstanding place to stay.

Die Ferienwohnung mit dem gewissen Etwas

Wunderschöne Wohnung nahe dem Stadtzentrum (den Weg in die Stadt kann man, wie sehr viele Bewohner der Stadt mit den Fahrrädern, die zur Wohnung gehören, erledigen). Sie erstreckt sich über 2 Stockwerke mit einer Galerie ( im Obergeschoß ist neben dem Schlafzimmer ein weiteres Badezimmer und ein Raum mit Waschmaschine etc.), ist sehr geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Signora Fabbri kümmert sich sehr um ihre Gäste und der Palazzo aus dem 15. Jh. hat schon eine besondere Atmosphäre.

The house is amazing and vert well located in the Town center

The appartement is located in a vert Nice historical building. It is ideal to visit the city center and to get out of it without any problem. It is located next to the most important museum of the town. The parking is very convenient. We enjoyed it a lot with our family of 4. The landlady is very very helpful and would reply any query you may have. We also loved the interior decoration and atmosphere of the apartment.

Edle Wohnung im Palazzo

Schon zum 3. Mal durften wir in dieser Super-Wohnung wohnen. Wie jedesmal wurden wir von Ombretta herzlich begrüsst mit einem Blumenstrauss und Früchten aus ihrem Garten. Die Wohnung bietet viel Platz (2-stöckig), ist komfortabel eingerichtet, sehr sauber, zentral gelegen. Der ehemalige Pferdestall dient als abgeschlossene Garage. Zwei Fahrräder sind vorhanden. Sehr praktisch, Ferrara ist DIE Fahrradstadt von Italen. Wer einmal wie Fürsten wohnen möchte, liegt hier richtig! Rita e Felice Hintermann
