1 of 3 Guest Quarters 35 Min to U of Alabama
The Cedar Guest Quarters was built from the ground up in 2015-ish, using local wood for the interior. It is about 50 yards from the historic, main home and directly next door to the Hunter`s Retreat Guest Quarters.
Popular with University of Alabama guests, honeymooners, hunters & rockstars (property can accommodate tour busses & vehicle + trailer).
Surrounded by limitless acreage for privacy and an indoor/outdoor experience!
Rustic and charming, this spacious guest quarters has a queen bed with private bathroom with custom made vanity and marble shower.
Interior rebuilt in 2014 using local cedar wood and heart pine.
Architect David Rinehart Anthony designed Everhope to be Big, Bold, & Beautiful. The media has called it one of the most beautiful homes of it`s time in Alabama. With original woodwork and curtains and carpet designed to replicate the originals, Everhope remains true to its roots but also has elegant modern updates. Everhope is on both the State of Alabama and National Registers of Historic Places. The home is sometimes available for tours and/or visiting in the gentleman`s parlor, but this is not guaranteed.
You will have unlimited access to explore the grounds. Everhope`s acreage is cross-fenced with peach, pecan, fig, persimmon, pear, pine, oak, cedar, and magnolia trees, as well as other beautiful shrubs and flowers.
I may or may not be physically present, but I am almost always available by phone. If our paths cross, let`s have a drink and chat!
A TV may be available (only during football season) if the pecan shelling house is not occupied, but we choose to mostly stay true to our 1850s roots and do not have TVs available otherwise. Fast, reliable internet in our neck of the woods is still just a dream, so no wi fi is available, though cell phones provide some connectivity, and the local library (about a 10 minute drive) is available for any data-intensive needs (can even access their internet from the parking lot!).
Evenings have been known to go late into the night on the 8 chair ârocking` porch. We can enable cook-outs or bonfires, too. If you desire one-of-a-kind and a chance to disconnect and unwind, this is your place!
On sold-out Alabama football weekends, we may have a hot southern breakfast for you (depends on game time and other factors!).
We can enable parking for 100+ cars, making it an ideal wedding, event and Hollywood set location.
