Escape to a peaceful country retreat just outside Fairfield, Texas. This quiet rural property sits on several wooded acres and offers a relaxing place to slow down, enjoy nature, and experience the calm of the countryside. 

As you arrive, you will see a red gate at the front of the property. The guest entrance is just beside it where you will see the home with the red roof and a gravel driveway leading to the carport. Simply pull into the driveway and park anywhere in the gravel or under the carport.

Motion lights will automatically turn on as you arrive in the evening, and additional lighting is available in the carport if needed.

The home features a long handicap-accessible ramp leading to the front porch, making entry easy and comfortable for all guests.

Inside, the layout offers privacy and comfort. The bedrooms and bathrooms are located on opposite sides of the home, which works well for families or groups who want their own space.

The property also includes a large gated half-acre backyard, making it a great space for children and pets to safely play outside.

Guests will find several family-friendly and convenience features including a toddler bed, Smart TVs in every room, and a washer and dryer for longer stays.

A Backyard Wildlife Habitat

The backyard has been intentionally set up as a small wildlife habitat. Multiple bird feeders attract a variety of birds throughout the day, and the property is active with wildlife around the clock.

It is common to see:

• Blue Jays
• Cardinals
• Squirrels
• Songbirds
• Various other native wildlife

Just beyond the yard is a pond that is home to several turtles and frogs. Fishing is not allowed, but guests are welcome to toss small pieces of diced apples or other snacks into the water to see if the turtles come up to eat. It can be a fun activity for kids and nature lovers.

On the far side of the property, just outside the gate near the pond, there is a deer feeder. Deer are frequently seen there early in the morning near sunrise and again in the evening before sunset.

This property is meant to be a place to enjoy, respect, and appreciate nature.

Guests can enjoy the outdoors in several ways:

• Relaxing on the porch or deck
• Soaking in the hot tub
• Watching birds and wildlife in the backyard
• Exploring the surrounding wooded acreage

There are also several safe areas on the property where outdoor fires can be enjoyed.

The property includes four acres of natural firewood, and we will often have additional logs stacked and available for guests to use.

Please note that Freestone County occasionally places burn bans in effect during dry or windy conditions. Guests should check the current county burn status before lighting any fires. A quick online search for “Freestone County Texas burn ban” will provide the current status.

Special Notes

Porch Cat – Callie

There is a friendly porch cat named Callie who lives on the property. She is clean, well-loved, and excellent at keeping rodents away. She often enjoys greeting guests and receiving the occasional snuggle.

If she becomes bothersome, you are welcome to gently shoo her off the porch.

For safety purposes, exterior security cameras monitor the entrances to the property only. These cameras are used solely for security and monitoring exterior areas.
