The Space:

If you're looking for a hip and chill change of scenery where you can entertain, play together, or just relax by the water, this colorful riverfront cabin should fit the bill! Outside, you'll find a shared riverside deck with a table and chairs, a firepit, and a variety of watersports accessories, including adult and junior kayaks, two beach bikes, inflatable tubes, and skimboards. This adorable, single-level home includes a well-equipped, full kitchen for whipping up your favorite recipes or reheating last night's leftovers, a dining area with a stereo and turntable for spinning your favorite records, a sunlit living area with a sectional, Roku-equipped TV, gas fireplace, and a large selection of books and games, and a furnished, bonus room in the garage with a second refrigerator, microwave, and TV. With the Platte River located just steps from your door, you can enjoy non-stop fun on the water during your stay, including fishing for steelhead and salmon. This cabin is also within 10 miles of Platte and Little Platte Lake, as well as Crystal Lake and Rush Lake. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore offers hiking and lovely views just 18 miles north. And when you need a break from river and lake activities, the Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theatre provides fun viewing during the summer season, less than a mile-and-a-half away. Fantastic Michigan Getaway

Fantastic retro- styled cabin: great amenities, cool decor, awesome record collection, and comfortable vacation property. The hosts provided some great suggestions for local events and food. Overall had a great trip, super comfy and will be staying again!

Outstanding River Retreat

The location is excellent and the cabin is incredibly cute. We loved the deck on the river, the 'retro' vibe, and the LP collection! The cabin was perfect for the 2 of us; for a larger group, it's probably worth knowing that the 1 bathroom is off the master bedroom. We'd definitely stay here again!

Great location on the river. Beautiful lot, Very convenient to Honor and surrounding attractions. The kitchen was equipped well enough. It was nice to have the extra refrigerator as well as the washer/dryer.

Peace, quiet, and charm

We were cozy and comfortable in and charmed by this rental, and crazy about the river access, including the deck right on the river bank. The house is beautifully decorated with lots of great details to notice and a wealth of games and puzzles. Highly recommend!

Wonderful retro cottage in the river

When we were not out and about we spent our time playing games, listening to records, wading in the river and enjoying the charm of this wonderful cottage on the river. Enough room for our family of 4 with lots to do. We will be back!

Fishing retreat

Retro on the River was the perfect cottage for our father / son get away. We caught salmon in the river soon after arriving. The location was ideal and convenient .We absolutely enjoyed playing the vinyl records and relaxing on the deck out back. We will be back again !!

Great Cottage!

Loved the retro decor. Really comfortable King bed. The deck on the upper platte river is our new happy place. I recommend Kayaking on the lower platte unless you are an experienced kayaker. We will be back!

Perfection

We loved staying at this property. It was the perfect location to explore one of our favorite parts of Michigan. We loved playing in the river, playing games as a family, listening to records, and slept well each night. The marriage of retro and contemporary meant it was like visiting grandma’s house while enjoying modern comforts. We are definitely plan to come back.

Retro on the River

We had a great time here. It was very clean and had everything we could possibly need or want. So much fun checking out all the games and books. The river was beautiful. There is a great deck next to the river but we were there when it was a bit chilly. The neighbor was also very welcoming. Loved this little get away.

Cute and Comfortable

We enjoyed the retro theme with many blasts from our pasts. The kitchen is well stocked. The living room has bookcases filled with all kinds of things to do for both adults and children. The neighborhood is quiet. The deck out back sits by the Platte River and is a great place to relax. The house is close to the beach and town.

Never go through Vacasa

My uncle died suddenly from a heart attack and we were not able to get any sort of refund or even exchange dates. Very disappointed with vacasa. We don't know anything about this specific property since we were never able to go. on our trip.

Not as described

Unfortunately we did not have a great stay. Within couple hours of arriving we seen a mouse in back bedroom. We seen it again 2 more times so we went to get mouse traps. My kids wouldn’t sleep in the room where we seen the mouse which made our sleeping arrangement difficult. Other than then mouse the house seemed clean. When you read the description on VRBO it appears to be a private area with private deck overlooking river. NO where does it say this is shared property with the owners who live next door! We were very disappointed to be gone most of the day to come back to fish in river and owners were sitting on deck. Made it very uncomfortable for us. We wanted to leave after kids seen mouse and wanted to leave:( I figured we would not get any money back so we stayed. Most amount of money ever spent and would never do it again. The description needs to state the owners live next door and property is shared. If it would have said that we would not have booked it.
