Moxie Pond off the grid 2-bedroom cabin in West Forks perfect for your getaway
Escape the noise and reconnect with nature at this charming off-grid cabin nestled on the shores of Lake Moxie, with stunning views of Bald Mountain as your backdrop. This is the perfect destination for those looking to truly unplug—no electricity, no Wi-Fi, and no flushing toilet—just peace, quiet, and the outdoors.
The cabin offers a cozy and functional layout. Downstairs features a comfortable living area with a wood stove, a dining space, and a full kitchen equipped with gas appliances. The bathroom includes a shower and sinks with water drawn directly from the lake. There is both hot and cold water. There is one private bedroom with a queen bed.
Upstairs, you’ll find an open-concept sleeping area with two queen beds and one double bed, plus additional space for a cot or air mattress—ideal for families or groups.
Start your mornings on the screened-in porch, sipping coffee while overlooking the lake as the sun rises over Bald Mountain. Spend your days exploring the surrounding wilderness or simply relaxing by the water.
Outdoor highlights include:
Direct access to Lake Moxie
Canoe and kayaks available for exploring the shoreline and nearby uninhabited islands
Nearby hiking trails including Mosquito Mountain and Bald Mountain
A short trip to the stunning Moxie Falls
Close proximity to the Appalachian Trail
The area is well known for fishing, hunting, and whitewater rafting, making it a great basecamp for adventure—or a peaceful place to unwind and recharge.
There are puzzles, games, and playing cards for your entertainment on those lazy/rainy days as well as books to read.
The boat in pictures is not included with the rental. You can bring your own boat and tie off to our dock.
Please note: Guests should bring their own drinking water or fill jugs at a nearby natural spring known locally as the “Fountain of Youth.” We will provide 2, 5-gallon jugs from the spring
If you're looking for a true off-grid experience surrounded by Maine’s natural beauty, this cabin is the perfect getaway.
Please be aware that there is no cell service and/or Wi-Fi at this cabin. You can travel down the road a short distance to pick up a cell signal.
Rechargeable lights will be provided but it is highly suggested you bring flashlights or rechargeable lights if you will be here for an extended stay as the battery life in these lights are dependent on how often they are used. Conservation is best.
There are 3 kayaks and 1 canoe with paddles available for use.
There is a fire pit and firewood. Use at your own risk
Please leave the camp as you found it, clean and tidy and you will not be charged a cleaning fee.
We do not allow pets as we are both allergic to dogs. Please respect this rule.
Upon departure, please put all used linens and towels in a pile on the floor.
Please do all dishes and clean the coffee percolator
Please ask questions about our property if anything is unclear.
