Nestled upon Messalonskee Lake in the heart of the Belgrade Lakes region, you'll find this classic Maine cottage. In the warm months, there's room to park your boat and trailer at the property, and a public boat launch is a mile-and-a-half away. Golf, disc golf, music venues, a world-class museum, and fantastic local restaurants await in and around Waterville and Oakland. Portland, with a major jetport and bigger city attractions, is less than an hour and a half away.

At the cottage itself, start the day on your screened porch with a cup of coffee, enjoying the lake view. Then take a swim or float on beautiful Lake Messolonski (Snow Pond) just outside your door. Inside, you'll find a lofted space with hardwood floors, pine-paneled ceilings and walls, and all the cabin coziness you crave. Whip up a snack or quick meal in the spacious kitchenette, which features a fridge, brand new oven, and microwave, then grab a bite at one of the barstools. After a day of exploration, relax with a little streaming TV, upload the day's pics to to social media with the free WiFi, or just unplug outside with a gorgeous sunset view over the water. End the night roasting marshmallows around the firepit - another perfect lake day awaits tomorrow.

Our Maine lake cabin experience

My wife and I are big fans of Maine Cabin Masters, which brought us to Maine for the lake cabin experience. It was exactly what we were looking for and accurately presented on the VRBO site. It was great, even including the ladder up to the loft for bed each night. Extremely good host and good location. We really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Cozy Lakeside Cabin

This is such a hidden gem! This adorable cabin had everything we needed - and we were greeted with fresh flowers and whoopie pies when we arrived which was such a pleasant surprise! The kids and our dog especially enjoyed swimming at the beach right in front of the cabin. We would definitely love to come back!

Very sweet cottage steps from the lake. We were greeted with fresh wildflowers and local pastries! The screened-in porch is such a bonus! Communication was excellent. Be aware that the steps to the loft bedroom are quite steep and definitely not suited for children.

Quaint and cozy

I was greeted by the Owner Mark and he was so welcoming and gracious. Showed me around and it was a nice first impression. The cabin was nice with all the comforts. The lake was beautiful and although it was more of an active lake with all its sounds, it quieted down greatly at night. I would certainly come back and chill out again.

We had a great stay in this cute and cozy cabin with direct lake access. The boat launch is nearby which made it super easy to go pike fishing every day. Then we'd come back to the warm cabin, cook up some steaks on the grill and snuggle up on the little loveseat. The only thing that would have made the stay better is for the windows to have shades for privacy, especially in the bathroom! The owner lives next door and he was around several of the days we were there so you sort of felt like you could be on display at night. The loft is pretty inconvenient since the ladder is very steep with strangley spaced steps. You can't really bring much up with you. We knew there was a loft from the listing so it wasn't a surprise and there's really nothing that can be done to change it but its worth mentioning, especially if you have a fear of heights. Overall, we had a really great stay and loved our time on Lake Messalonskee!

Sensational Stay at Lena’s Cabin

This property was the perfect oasis on a trip myself and some friends were not necessarily excited for at first. The Adirondack chairs by the lakeshore and the fire pit were perfect to help unwind after long and difficult days. I will say, it did appear that the hot water had some issues, but other than that we had an incredible stay. Other than hot water, the property was perfect. I would love to book this property again.

Pleasantly surprised

Was not expecting it to be so clean or have a Keurig. Owner was so accommodating. There were plenty of linens. While there is no AC we were not hot, even in the loft. Although it was hot during the day it cools enough at night with the fans/window to sleep comfortably. If I had to find a downside, I would say the love seat that opens was too uncomfortable for a large adult so bring an air mattress. We loved having the lake to fish or swim and how clean it was! Would certainly stay there again.

Charming solitude

Lovely cabin, well equipped, on a quaint lake front. We really enjoyed this tiny gem. The loft bed is very comfy, but not suited for anyone who would have an issue climbing a ladder to get there. The owners thoughtful touches, fresh flowers and local treats, made for a welcoming arrival. We will be back.
