À propos de cet hébergement
Modern Lakeside Retreat on 5.6 Upstate Acres
Trade the noise of everyday life for birdsong, lake breezes, and the kind of quiet you can actually hear. This is a place to exhale. Tucked into 5.6 acres of unspoiled nature, our cabin sits steps from a private natural lake, with little trails winding down through the trees to the water. By day, sunlight pours through the windows. By night, the silence is so complete you`ll remember what stars are supposed to sound like.
The Cabin
Designed with a modern eye and a warm heart, the cabin sleeps four comfortably, ideal for couples, small families, or a group of friends. The upstairs bedroom is open and airy, positioned to greet you with stunning sunrise views right from bed. Downstairs, the second bedroom is spacious and serene, with thoughtful, understated details. Both rooms feature Queen beds. The kitchen blends farmhouse charm with minimalist design, anchored by a beautiful white Corian countertop. (One small note: please use trivets for hot pots and a cutting board for chopping; the Corian appreciates the courtesy.) The living space is built for slow evenings. A cast iron fireplace warms the room in cooler months, the couch is dangerously comfortable, and the dining table is paired with classic Panton chairs. The bathroom feels like a small private spa, with a generous, sleek walk-in shower designed by the owner for genuinely rejuvenating showers.
The Land
Your 5.6 acres include direct lake access, perfect for swimming, canoeing, picnicking, lounging, or simply taking in the view. Bring your own floaties if that`s your thing. A short walk from the cabin, you`ll find a flat shaded rock tucked into the trees, an unbeatable spot for morning yoga or quiet reflection. The lake is part of the NYC watershed and teems with wildlife. Bald eagles have been spotted perched in the tall trees on the property. Deer, rabbits, squirrels, and a full cast of upstate New York`s wildlife are regular visitors. Bird watchers, bring your binoculars.
A Note on Setting
This is not a town getaway. It`s remote, private, and peaceful. Our distant neighbors are considerate and quiet, and we kindly ask the same of our guests. If you`re looking for nightlife, this isn`t it. If you`re looking for solitude, reflection, and a true reset, you`ve just found it.
The main floor and loft of the cabin are for guest use as well as the washer and dryer in the basement. The main garage in locked however the second garage will be unlocked and garbage is to go in the garbage cans in that garage. DO NOT park vehicles in the garage.
I am available if needed
Good to Know Before You Book • WiFi: Strong and reliable throughout the house, so you can stream, work remotely, or video-call without missing a beat. • Cell service: None on the property. Truly. This is part of the magic, but worth knowing in advance so you can let people know you`ll be off the grid (the WiFi handles calls and messages just fine). • Dogs: Well-behaved pups are welcome. They`ll love the acreage as much as you do. Just let us know in advance.

Wildlife & Insects
Living in the woods means you may occasionally see wildlife or insects — it’s part of the mountain experience! We take proactive measures to prevent small critters like mice from entering the home. If traps are in use, they’re discreetly and safely placed. Insects and ticks are common year-round. We recommend bug spray during warmer months and doing tick checks after outdoor activities. If you’re bringing pets, please ensure they’re on a preventative treatment.
Weather & Road Conditions
Mountain weather can change quickly — you may experience snow, ice, rain, mud, or sudden temperature swings. We do our best to keep walkways and paths clear, but please use caution. Rock salt is provided in winter, though extreme cold can cause melted ice to refreeze. The driveway is plowed after approximately 3–5 inches of snow, depending on conditions and the plow schedule. All-Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles are strongly recommended, especially during winter months.
Burn Bans & Safety Notices
Weather and fire conditions can change rapidly in the mountains. Local or state authorities may issue burn bans, road closures, or state of emergency notices that can affect the use of outdoor fire pits, campfires, or cooking fires. These orders must be followed when in effect. Failure to comply may result in fines issued by local fire or police departments. Please understand that these situations are beyond our control, and we cannot be held responsible for any related restrictions. Your cooperation helps keep you, our community, and our mountain environment safe.
