Villa d'époque en pierre de caractÚre pouvant accueillir jusqu'à 14 personnes proche de toutes commodités avec piscine chauffée.

La propriété offre 4 grandes chambres doubles et 2 salles de bains au premier étage (l'une d'entre elles étant une suite). Il y a une chambre supplémentaire récemment rénovée et une salle de bain séparée au rez-de-chaussée. De plus, il y a un lit, une chaise haute, 2 siÚges de toilette et une marche pour les bébés afin de les aider à se sentir confiants et indépendants dans leur utilisation des installations. Cette maison aime les familles et s'efforce de fournir une assistance à tout le monde, y compris les jeunes invités qui sont les clients préférés des propriétaires!

Il y a 2 cuisines dans la propriété, une dans la maison principale et l'autre dans la piscine. En réalité, la propriété est assez grande pour accueillir beaucoup plus de clients, mais je préfÚre offrir toute ma maison aux familles responsables pour une expérience vraiment unique. Les autres invités potentiels doivent avoir, de préférence, plus de 25 ans, mais veuillez prendre contact pour discuter de ce point.

Le salon est un espace ouvert avec une salle à manger décorée dans un style campagnard traditionnel avec des meubles anciens victoriens et français. Au dessus, il y a une mezzanine avec 2 baby-foot. La salle à manger compose l'autre moitié de cet espace ouvert et dispose d'une table victorienne antique pouvant accueillir 16 personnes.

La cuisine blanche principale est de conception simple et est entiĂšrement Ă©quipĂ©e avec une table en chĂȘne et 4 chaises.

Il y a une salle de télévision avec également équipée de livres pour enfants, principalement en anglais. La buanderie est adjacente à la salle de télévision. Il dispose d'un lave-linge, d'un sÚche-linge, d'un double évier et les produits pour la lessive sont généralement gratuits pour le premier lavage. Cette buanderie mÚne à une aile séparée de la propriété accessible par un couloir extérieur qui contient une salle de jeux avec des jouets; cette salle de jeux se dédouble en une "taniÚre" pour adolescents afin d'offrir un espace séparé aux plus jeunes. J'ai choisi de le définir comme une salle de jeux mais cet espace est suffisamment grand pour accueillir 8 personnes (et cela a été essayé et testé avec succÚs!). Cet espace a été utilisé dans le passé comme une 6Úme chambre à coucher; elle est entiÚrement recouverte de moquette et équipée d'un lit double ultra moderne avec des diodes électroluminescentes et d'une penderie. Il y a aussi une mini salle de gym.

La piscine est située dans le jardin devant la maison principale. Les lumiÚres à l'intérieur de la piscine créent un effet visuel agréable en soirée.

La piscine est chauffĂ©e pour plus de confort lorsque le temps le permet. La cuisine ouverte comprend une plaque de cuisson Ă©lectrique, un Ă©vier avec une unitĂ© d’élimination des dĂ©chets, un rĂ©frigĂ©rateur, des Ă©tagĂšres bien amĂ©nagĂ©es et une table pouvant accueillir confortablement 8 personnes. Il y a une table blanche supplĂ©mentaire avec 2 siĂšges et un banc d'angle en bois assis pour 4 personnes.

Il y a un jardin devant le salon principal avec une agréable table en pierre et des siÚges, idéal pour le thé de l'aprÚs-midi ou un verre en début de soirée. Il y a aussi un jardin autour de la piscine et un à l'arriÚre de la maison; tous les 3 étant accessibles via un long trajet.

La zone est trÚs sécurisée mais pour votre tranquillité d'esprit, il y a une alarme.

La propriété dispose WiFi.

Cette magnifique villa est situĂ©e dans un village oĂč l'agriculture constitue la majoritĂ© des activitĂ©s. Les tracteurs peuvent passer Ă  vitesse rĂ©duite.

Best summer-house ever!

We had the best time EVER in this magical place. We have never see such a beautiful house!! Helene is the perfect host and was so helpful and nice. She also has wonderful neighbours that helped us, when Helene was not there. We really hope we can come back again in the future!!

Relaxing two week break in the French countryside

We had a wonderful two week stay at Helene’s property in August 2023. The property was well presented and very spacious for the 6 adults and 2 children. The property is set in a rural area and is peaceful and quiet. The highlight of the property was the outdoor pool, including a kitchen area and huge garden. We ate almost all our lunches out by the pool. We spent most of our time at the property but also went on 3 separate day trips to Saint-Jean-de-Luz (beach), Biarritz (beach) and Pau (shopping). We were well looked after by Gilbert who serviced the pool on a daily basis. Helene, out host, was very responsive and easy to communicate with before and during the holiday. We would highly recommend this property for families and friends who are looking to get away to the quiet French countryside.

Lovely, rural, well equipped holiday home

We have recently returned from a lovely 2 week holiday at this property. The house is in a peaceful, very rural location yet close enough to the main road to allow easy access to the Atlantic beaches and the lovely towns of Bayonne, Pau and San Sebastian (all less than 2 hours away). The house itself is well equipped with large spacious very comfy bedrooms. There was a great swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers for adults and inflatables for the children. There was an ample supply of good quality pool towels for our use which we found very useful and not something we have found at other places we have stayed. Next to the pool is an outdoor kitchen area which we used for almost all of our cooking. A handy hotplate and bbq were provided. The pool was kept well cleaned and a local man Guilbert was helpful to attend to many needs and enquiries including booking restaurants for us. Recommendations on what to do and where to eat from Helene were very much appreciated and provided us with some great experiences. A great location to explore wine country too. All in all I would recommend it for families, the house is plenty big enough for a couple of families to holiday together, Thanks Helene for a great holiday.

Relaxing Retreat

We hired a car from Bordeaux Airport and stopped enroute at a supermarket to stock up on local food wine and other supplies for our break. It was easy to find and when we arrived we were stunned by the magnificence of the property ! It takes your breath away! Located in a beautiful, quiet and tranquil area, this charming old traditional stone house had clean stylish and comfortable rooms, wooden beams, 2 large open fireplaces, and comfortable luxurious furnishings. There was plenty of space indoors and out, to sit and relax, play, swim, sunbath, or dine/bbq outside. We spent whole evenings by the pool and took advantage of the outdoor kitchen and bbq. It was tempting to just stay where we were and not even venture out! We did however manage to venture out for a walk and drove to the International Sports Training Complex La Cité Verte As recommended by you, we also visited the 'Feria Festival' at the nearby town of Saint Sever which had a very Spanish feel with Beer Tents fabulous local food a fairground attractions for the kids and Music and Dance on the main stage. I'd definitely recommend a visit. We had such a chilled time at your home and we will definitely be rebooking next year and recommending your home to others. Thank you The Keelan family

Large well located property with great facilities

The property is very spacious and easily room for 8-10 people. The facilities were excellent with a kitchen and covered eating area for outdoor dining next to the large swimming pool. The main property is large and has a kitchen and separate washing room. Outside there is plenty of grassy areas for the children to run and play in a safe closed environment. The property is surrounded by rural land and is very peaceful. The property was very clean with bed linen and towels provided. There is help if you need it locally as Gilbert who lives down the road came to clean the pool and provide other services as you might need (he printed off some rugby tickets for me) and is very friendly. The property is in a great location to explore the local area - from the beaches at Biarritz and St Jean de Luz, the historic towns of Pau and Bayonne and the wine areas of Madiran and Iroudeguy. We also went further afield to San Sebastien and Bordeaux - all within 2 hours drive. It was just over an hour from Biarritz airport so the travelling days weren't too much of a pain. There are plenty of smaller towns closer by to explore as well. The owner is also very helpful offering guidance an assistance as required and is very responsive. It is always better to be able to tap in to local knowledge to find hidden treasures such as which are the best local restaurants or the fact there is an olympic size swimming pool down the road. Overall we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend it.

Demeure de charme au coeur des Landes

Nous avons passé trois semaines cet été avec nos enfants dans cette maison de caractÚre, au charme de l'ancien, dominant un jardin verdoyant au joli panorama. Nous tenons à remercier Gilbert et Martine, l'équipe sur place qui a été quotidiennement aux petits soins pour nous, afin que nous passions les meilleures vacances possibles. Nous remercions aussi HélÚne la propriétaire qui tout au long de notre séjour nous a écrit pour prendre de nos nouvelles et nous donner de nombreuses informations sur les environs. Super séjour !

Nous avons passé un super séjour chez Héléne. La propriété est trÚs bien entretenue et vraiment agréable. Gilbert et Martine sont présents, s'il y a le moindre soucis. Tout est à disposition pour passer des vacances reposantes et joviales entre le barbecue et la piscine. La maison est également trÚs bien équipée pour préparer des repas à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur.

fantastisch!

we waren met twee gezinnen met in totoaal 6 kinderen in de leeftijd van 5 tot en met 17 jaar. Het zwembad was het grootste pluspunt van dit huis. Groot zodat je er zelfs wat (korte) baantjes in zou kunnen trekken. Het maken van bommetjes en het doen van tal van spelletjes met ons alle 10 tegelijk was geen enkel probleem. Ook het huis was erg groot met zeer ruime kamers. De kinderen speelden bijna elke dag wel even verstoppertje met elkaar. En dat kon wel even duren met alle leuke verstopplekken. We hadden tropisch warm weer maar met name beneden in huis bleef het redelijk koel. Boven was het wel wat warmer maar met een ventilator op zich goed te doen. We zijn ook een paar keer op pad geweest waaronder naar de Pyreneeën en het strand. Beide liggen op een uur rijden ongeveer. Top strand! fantastische golven en gewoon een schoon groot strand. Helene was altijd zeer goed bereikbaar en regelde alles voor ons waar we om vroegen of als er een probleem was. De in de buurt wonende 'poolguy' zorgde elke ochtend voor weer een schoon/verzorgd zwembad. Zeker een aanrader voor gezinnen of vriendengroepen met (jonge) kinderen!

Just Perfect

We stayed for 10 nights in this beautiful property. We had everything we could ever need, from a gorgeous pool to a brand new ping pong table; from an outdoor summer kitchen to a fully equipped indoor kitchen. The attention to detail from Helene was second to none; a lovely welcome pack of three bottles of wine; ham; cheese; bread; butter and chocolate. We had fresh water in each bedroom and a pair of slippers for each guest. The house itself is full of character, spacious and just a delight to spend time in. We went out for a couple of day trips but were happy to spend time at the house as it was so relaxing. If we needed anything at all, it was dealt with immediately by Helene or her equally friendly property managers - such a fabulous host. I would definitely return in the future.

Angenehme Aufenthalt

Wir haben das Haus fĂŒr eine Woche mit neun Personen gemietet. Wir wurden von Sophie sehr freundlich empfangen und durch das Haus gefĂŒhrt. FĂŒr Verpflegung am Anreisetag hatte die Vermieterin Helene schon gesorgt( Baguette, KĂ€se, Kochschinken, und GetrĂ€nke )Die großzĂŒgigen Zimmer sind liebevoll eingerichtet und mit bequemen Betten ausgestattet.Wir haben die meiste Zeit am schönen Pool mit AussenkĂŒche verbracht und die Zeit dort sehr genossen. Bei Fragen stand uns Helene jederzeit per WhatsApp zur VerfĂŒgung.

Schönes altes Haus, nur bedingt ausgelegt fĂŒr 14 Personen

Ein wirklich sehr schönes altes Haus mit großzĂŒgiger Anlage und auch weiten Wegen. Die Zimmer waren liebevoll vorbereitet und der Empfang durch Martine‘ und Gilbert war sehr herzlich. Der Pool und die angrenzende AußenkĂŒche waren großartig. Allerdings gab es im Aussenbereich nicht genĂŒgend SitzplĂ€tze (10 Personen), um gemeinsam zu frĂŒhstĂŒcken und zu grillen. Eine zusĂ€tzliche Anmietung von Tischen und BĂ€nken soll im Rathaus des Ortes möglich sein. In unmittelbarer NĂ€he des Hauses befindet sich ein landwirtschaftlicher Betrieb mit all seinen EinflĂŒssen. Die Ausstattung der 5 vorhandenen Schlafzimmern und die Ausstattung der 3 BĂ€der entsprachen nicht in jedem Fall unseren AnsprĂŒchen. Vor-Ort-Probleme wĂ€hrend unseres Aufenthaltes wurden mit viel Engagement aber auch mit unserer Geduld gelöst. Kirstin & Christian Joerß

An amazing house, in a perfect location, with the most thoughtful of owners.

Our extended family has just returned from spending two very enjoyable weeks at this fantastic house in Horsarrieu. The villa is situated in beautiful French countryside, ideally located for day trips to the beaches of Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz, the Pyrenean mountains and, just across the border, San Sebastian – a paradise for ‘foodies’. While we ventured out to enjoy some of these attractions, we spent most of our time at the house itself, with many lazy days spent by the excellent pool – and many of our meals prepared and taken in the pool-side kitchen. The impressive and characterful house is very spacious, with all the facilities a large family would need. The bedrooms in particular were nicely decorated, with each room having its own individual theme. Above all else, it was the warm welcome and the many thoughtful touches from HĂ©lĂšne, the owner, that made our stay particularly special. HĂ©lĂšne had obviously gone to great effort in making us comfortable, with our children especially delighted with the treats we found upon our arrival. We were also very pleased with the numerous recommendations HĂ©lĂšne made regarding local events, restaurants and places of interest. All of which were helpful in getting the most out of our holiday. We whole-heartedly recommend a stay here to any family looking for a relaxing retreat, and look forward to returning ourselves in the future. Philippe and clan.

Relaxing holiday in Super charactful house

The house is stunning. Full of charm, and character with plenty of space yet warm and welcoming. The setting is relaxing. We were a group of seven, 3 adults and four teenage kids. We spent many hours by the pool, facilitated by the convenience of the poolside kitchen. Inside the house, the rooms are generous in size. The beds and bedding are very good quality The ensuite in our bedroom was fine, rather than luxurious. The house was very clean and the large corridor running from the front door/window to the opposite back window created a pleasant airy and light feel. The kitchen is simple but has everything you need including modern essentials like a dishwasher. There are some lovely pieces of antique furniture and the lounge/ dining room is a real gem which includes a mezzanine. when we managed to motivate ourselves to move from the house and this was very difficult as we felt so relaxed , we visited the local village and a ferme auberge . We also went further afield, to a fabulous beach -approximately 1.5 hrs. Pau is about 30 minutes away and this is a wonderful old university town. We did not make it to Biarritz but it is definitely on our list when we return next time. We definitely want to return.

Le Grand Lamarque is a typical period Maison de MaĂźtre which oozes with rustic authenticity and country character. It appeals to families with a passion for French traditions in search for genuine style combined with good facilities.

The property is situated in a village and while this allows you to benefit from the peace and quiet of such a location, you are also next to all amenities within a few minutes drive.

This villa welcomes guests throughout the year: experiencing Christmas in this warm home has an old fashion touch of magic while the summer offers pure indulgence and rest. Easter is known to have impredictable temperatures but the egg hunts are delightful. The autumn period is colourful and romantic and can be split between exploring the region and creating unforgettable family memories.

You can do as much or as little as you want as the region abounds in activities especially if you enjoy physical challenges.

Day trips to the beach are excellent as you get the best of both worlds: you embrace the atmosphere of the busy sea resorts but come back to the quietness of your spacious home.

It is a pure paradise for adult guests as they are able to have parties around the pool until reasonable times (set by law) in the evening and under adult supervision. The nearby Olympic swimming pool can provide hours of fun at extremely low prices while parents play golf across the road.

Fresh croissants and pains au chocolat (called chocolatines in the region!) are available from numerous patisseries in the nearby town in less than 5 minutes by car.

All supermarkets and restaurants are within a similar distance, placing the property in a very convenient location.

The property is situated in farmland with occasional slow tractors driving past and natural fertilizers used sometimes.

To me, the location of this property makes it one of its best features. It is a place which enables you to take a step back in order to reconnect with family values, nature and "real France" while not feeling isolated. It is my personal hidden treasure!
