We had a great stay at this cabin in Blue Ridge! It was absolutely perfect for our family and had everything we needed upon arrival. The cabin was well-stocked, clean, and very comfortable, which made settling in easy and stress-free. The kids especially loved the hot tub—it was a huge hit and a fun way to relax after our days exploring the area. Communication with the host was excellent from start to finish, which we really appreciated. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would definitely recommend this cabin to other families looking for a relaxing getaway.

We stayed here with my in-laws for a special weekend away. After my mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer in August for the 2nd time, she had to cancel a previously planned trip. We wanted to find a space that had a gorgeous view, comfortable rooms for sleep and lots of space for relaxing, so she could unwind and reset. This did not disappoint!! The view was stunning, the outdoor furniture was clean and comfortable, we even ate outside one night and sat with blankets by the fire once the sun went down. The beds were comfortable, the water was nice and hot and we had plenty of space to relax and play games. She even commented on how clean it was. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking items, coffee, crockpot, utensils etc. We did bring our own firewood for the upstairs outdoor fireplace and a heads up the road can seem steep but just take your time and you’ll be fine. It was about 25 minutes to town. We left rejuvenated with new memories to hold on to and very happy with our stay. We hope to book this place on our next visit to blue ridge!

Home Away From Home

Charming home with amazing views of the mountains and nestled away from civilization. The warm interiors were balanced by the openness of the windows on the west side of the house. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and really appreciated the holiday decorations as we celebrated Christmas as a family. We will definitely be back again as this cabin has everything you need and is just as advertised.

Best weekend ever

The cabin was better than expected, I’m kind of a clean freak and I was super impressed. I love the fireplaces. I love the rustic mess. I love the waterfall shower in the master bedroom. The swinging bed was just a topper.

The staff was so helpful in solving a problem with the reservation (totally my fault). When we got to the cabin it was better than the pictures. The long range views were gorgeous and everything worked perfectly.

Great location and view

Loved the location and spectacular views! Pictures don't judge it! Also, one of the showers has a creative water fall (hot and cold water) built into it that we all loved! I read few reviews where some folks had issue on directions. We had no issue getting to the place using Google Maps and the address that was provided. So we never bothered looking at the turn by turn directions. However, I do recommend that you get there before it gets dark for the first time, so you won't miss a turn because the last 1.5 miles before getting to the place does not have enough lighting (back roads).

Quiet. Secluded with spectacular views. AND BEARS!

The cottage was as advertised. Clean and well equipped. Comfortable beds and furniture. We spent much of our time reading and relaxing on the deck. Of course it helped that the weather was absolutely perfect with moderate temperatures and low humidity. My family considers themselves gourmet cooks and the kitchen allowed us to perform. We could have used a little brighter lighting, but, to be fair, I'm getting old and different fixtures would probably have detracted from the ambience of the cottage. The wine shop in town also cooperated. One afternoon a small bear came out of the woods into the back yard which I thought was an exciting cap to the vacation. We hope to return.

Vrbo stated pet friendly NOT pet friendly! That was a problem obviously the day before leaving for the trip!l when Ga cabin rentals informed me not pet friendly!!! The cabin was dirty!!!!!!!!!! Cabinets falling off, highhat light hanging on lower floor, cobwebs everywhere, kitchen cabinets dirty where items are placed :(. OMG so much dust behind bed wouldn’t stop sneezing!!!!!!!!!!! RUGS DIRTY in bathroom! Plastic bottles and other garbage in backyard of cabin! So sad! I contacted Ga property rentals and they barely responded! Horrible you can tell they did. It care! On top of it it was a special anniversary trip and birthday! There’s more negative things too! So NOT worth the money! It’s a shame because it could be nice. Managed horribly!

Jenen, thank you for your feedback; we would like to address your comments. Cohutta Sunset is one of our luxury properties that is not pet friendly, and your reservation at the time of booking did not reflect bringing a large German Shepherd. It has been our experience in the past as owners of a large German Shepherd, that these dogs with their large claws and protective nature are not a good fit for our luxury properties. These are handcrafted luxury homes, largely wood interiors and soft wood floors and nice furniture that have the possibility of being destroyed with one visit. You reserved the property approximately a week before your stay, and bringing a pet was not discussed until a few days after the reservation was confirmed. Our staff received very rude responses from you as they explained the pet policy of 35 lbs. or less, and details about the pet to make sure that they are not aggressive. Cabin Rentals of Georgia prides itself on taking care of our luxury, privately-owned properties, which is why we have a strict pet policy on some cabins, and THIS particular cabin is NOT pet friendly. After being threatened by you we reluctantly approved the German Shepherd, which is a breed we do not allow. We did not want to cause further conflict with you so we reluctantly approved this. During your stay, we only received one text message mentioning the dust but nothing about cobwebs, any repairs, dirty cabinets, dirty rugs, etc. Otherwise you communicated that the stay was enjoyable and you even placed an order for firewood. Our staff did respond to your messages during your stay during business hours, and the conversations were congenial on both ends. You only mentioned dust in your text, not this litany of issues. Not once. There is no trash on the grounds and if there was, it might have been one plastic bottle that fell off a deck in the high winds that happen frequently in the mountains during the winter months. The staff member who delivered the firewood was bombarded with berating comments from your husband, along with a dog incessantly barking, all of which concerned the safety of the man delivering the wood. From the time of booking to your departure, our staff attentively answered your messages according to our policies and standards. We wish you the best. ~The CRG Team

Beautiful cabin; just as advertised

I'm not sure why other reviewer had such negative things to say about this property. I have stayed at quite a few VRBO and Homeaway properties, and often they are a bit like online dating in that they are not what they seem online. This place, however, was exactly as beautiful and well-kept as it appeared online, and the cabin management company couldn't have been more helpful prior to, and during, our stay. It was not difficult to get to, and it was extremely clean, nicely decorated and felt very new and fresh, and they even put out stacks of towels and soaps on all the beds for us just like a hotel. The kitchen was modern and well-stocked, including coffee filters, spices and lots of utensils, pots and pans. And I didn't find anything hard to reach in the kitchen, either. The wifi wasn't the greatest if you were going to stream movies, but it worked just fine to check email and do basic things, and, honestly, I didn't go to the mountains to stream movies. My Verizon cell worked fine as well. The hot tub was, I guess, 'on' the whole time we were there as the other reviewer mentioned, but all that meant to me as a guest was that it was ready to go for us whenever we wanted it, which was actually very convenient. The jets didn't run the whole time, it just stayed heated and occasionally cycled on. It wasn't bothersome. The only minor issues we encountered (and I would have called the cabin company had we been staying longer and I'm sure they would have been able to help) were that the outdoor gas fireplace by the hot tub wouldn't light (I think the pilot was out or something), and we ran out of propane the second night we cooked dinner on the grill. We were only there for two nights, so that wasn't that big of a deal. We did stop and get wood on the way in as we didn't need a whole half cord for two days (which the cabin company would have gladly supplied), but when we got there, there was already wood anyway, so we had plenty for some cozy fires. There was nothing more amazing than sitting outside in the evening looking at the mountains with a roaring fire. All in all, I would have to say this was one of the best VRBO/Homeaway stays I've ever had, and we are already talking about going back again to enjoy this cabin later this year. I also noticed that the guest book in the cabin was filled with positive reviews--they must not have rented through Homeaway and that's why they didn't post positive reviews on this site.

Overall a great stay and a beautiful home. There were a few items that we could have used in the kitchen that were not there, and a full length mirror or 2 would have been nice. The place was absolutely beautiful, and the master shower with the waterfall was spectacular!

Beautiful cabin!!!!

This is such a beautiful cabin with an awesome view. It really is a luxury cabin. There are 2 covered decks so rain will not keep you from being outside. A couple nights we got to watch thunderstorms move through. The lightning was so pretty!!!! It is almost 30 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge if that’s an issue for you. That was no problem for us because we wanted to spend all our time at the cabin. Couple of the bedrooms had no curtains or blinds on windows and doors. That is the only downside I can see at all. If you are looking for a quiet place to get away from everything this is perfect for you!!! It was exactly what we needed!!!

Though the cabin is closer to 30 minutes from downtown, it is still in a great location to go horseback riding, whitewater rafting, or shopping in downtown. Whether the experience be outside or in, Cohutta Sunset offers plenty of amenities to make the trip memorable. Remote Hideaway

The property was exactly as described in the listing, and we had a wonderful time. The cabin was private but not isolated. There are several other cabins in close proximity. The directions to get up the mountain were a little weak. We made two wrong turns while looking for it. However, once we made it to the the cabin it turns out the directions were accurate... just a little confusing. There are additional turns available that we thought were the correct turns. Maybe tweak them a little? Overall, it was a great trip and we would definitely book this cabin again.

Beautiful View

Our family had a great time in Blue Ridge and really enjoyed the house. The house is nicely furnished and clean. The remote location makes it a perfect place for a quiet family getaway.

What a great stay and location. The cabin was everything we wanted and more. It was just as listed but the photos did not do it justice. We loved the views and the hot tub. We will be back for sure.

Getting to the cabin was an adventure. Use the directions the management gives you instead of GPS. The cabin is beautiful, but not immaculately clean. If you want to really get away from civilization, then book this cabin. Management communications were great.

Cohutta Sunset is a beautifully cozy and popular cabin beautifully situated to present a breathtaking panoramic Mountain View with sunsets that will have you snapping photographs to try and capture the moment. Getting to the cabin offers some beautiful wide range mountain views as you climb higher and higher. We make it a point to tell all of our guests on the day of their arrival to use our turn-by-turn directions and not GPS because it is easy to get lost. Regarding the cleaning, we do personally train all of our cleaning staff and inspect their clean before our guests' arrival. This particular cleaner is no longer with us. We receive high ratings from our guests regarding the cleanliness of our cabins, especially during this time of Covid. Awesome Cabin

The cabin was exactly as shown on VRBO. The view is amazing and the place was clean and well appointed. The waterfall shower was awesome! When we arrived around 5:30 Pm we realized that the ice maker and water in the refrigerator were not working. I called the management company and reported it. About an hour later we realized that the refrigerator nor the freezer were working properly. Had to run to Walmart and buy ice. We loaded the freezer and used it as an ice chest. Now I called the emergency phone number. No response! Started calling the management company at 8:30 am. Spent 30 minutes trying to get a hold of them, kept going to voice mail. Sent them an email - still haven’t gotten a response to that. Finally got a call at 9:30 am from the maintenance guy. It seemed like he really didn’t believe that there was anything wrong with the fridge. Kept saying that we put warm things in the fridge and it takes awhile to cool them off. 🙄 He finally agreed to send an appliance man out. Appliance guy came out (He was awesome) and Yep, it wasn’t working! Said he would try and get a new compressor. Sent a text to the maintenance guy the next morning, because we had heard nothing , said we were getting a new fridge. Bottom line, the communication with this management company is very poor. The cabin is amazing, but if you have a Maintenance problem between 5:30 pm and 8:30 am you are kinda out of luck. I totally understand that appliances break. What I don’t understand is not being able to get a quicker response and then not being kept abreast of the situation. Bottom line, Cabin 5 ⭐️ management company 2 ⭐️

Suzanne, thank you for your 4-star review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Cohutta Sunset and that the property met your expectations. Our listings are kept up to date, and this custom-built home is quite spectacular inside and out. On the day of your arrival, we reached out to confirm that everything was all set to go, and had to leave a message with no reply. We recommend in our rental agreement and direction packet that check-in is in between 3:30p and 5:30p, as our office closes after that. Regardless, an appliance technician would not have addressed the issue until the following business day anyway. When we received your call the following morning when our office opened at 9:30am, we promptly reached out to maintenance in order to resolve the situation. What our appliance technician explained about the time it takes to cool things off is true. Before we schedule a visit to the cabin and expend those resources (gas, time, service, etc.), we troubleshoot the issue over the phone. In our experience, when the fridge is left open or constantly being open and shut, it takes longer for it to cool the food inside. When it was made clear that further action was required, we immediately sent a technician out to the cabin. As soon as we were able to coordinate with the homeowner, appliance staffer, and all those moving parts, a brand new fridge was purchased and delivered. We are running on 80% occupancy for June, and for having to communicate with multiple parties, our response to the issue was timely and quick to have a brand new appliance at the cabin within 24 hours. Again, had the check-in been in the window we advise or had an email been sent that night, we certainly could have reviewed the issue. Either way, that timeline is completely standard for a situation such as this. Thank you for choosing Cabin Rentals of Georgia, and we wish you the best.

Perfect Getaway

A very relaxing beautiful place to getaway! Everything was clean and in place. The views were as described. So many special features even a waterfall in the masterbath! Will definitely be back.

Beautiful View!

Really nice property, well kept and outstanding sunsets, but it lacked some basic necessities. It is obvious this home is being used strictly for rental because not too many people still use 32" TVs anymore. That is small! Things like towels for the hot tub; proper tools for the fireplace; hangers in all of the closets; kitchen basics like saran, foil or plastic food storage containers. With the exception of the appliances, all of the kitchen tools and linens appeared to be old and a few things really dirty like pot holders (Gross!!) Not even a fresh sponge was supplied. Outside of the kitchen, the large couch in the main level could not be used and should be removed. It's a safety hazard! All of the floor rugs in the bathrooms were super dirty - bring slippers! Overall, we had a very peaceful and relaxing time which is exactly what we were after. The sunsets were to die for.

We are so happy that you enjoyed your time at Cohutta Sunset. The sunsets really are to die for along with those incredible mountain views of the Cohutta Wilderness. This is one of our most popular cabins just for the luxurious amenities and stunning views. We hope that your husband was able to take us up on our offer for private fishing on our private creek properties, and that you were able to enjoy the free late checkout of 1:00p. This gorgeous luxury cabin is truly a vacation rental cabin in Blue Ridge and it was the owners' choice to have 32" TVs in the cabin. There is so much beauty to revel in and amenities to enjoy that TV watching is an afterthought for most. Some of our cabins are outfitted with Saran Wrap and food storage items if the owners choose to provide it, but more often than not, people take their leftovers with them when they depart so we have found it not to be cost-effective to provide. As to the other items you have mentioned, we have checked into those things and they have been taken care of. All in all, we are so glad that you enjoyed the cabin and the surrounding beauty, and we hope that you were able to benefit from our offer to fish on our other properties and the free late check out. Great View

The beds were comfortable, the view Fantastic.! Easy light electric fireplaces! We thought some of the Other furniture was not so comfortable, and the porch rocking chairs are worn and dirty. There was also a Lot of cobwebs and dust throughout the house. The drive up is very steep and on a gravel road. But the mountain view is amazing, better than the pictures. Also thought the bath towels were rough we bought our own because we like them plush and soft. Hot tub was nice.

Cohutta Sunset is a beautiful cabin with a gorgeous view, and because you’re at a higher elevation than most cabins in the Blue Ridge, the drive up to the cabin can be an exciting adventure. It is a county-maintained gravel drive with asphalt on the steeper parts. We have given the owners of this home a heads up on the porch rocking chairs. We have spoken with our housekeeper regarding the cobwebs and dust, as this is certainly not up to our high standards of cleanliness.
