Beach time

As advertised, roomy, covered patio was great for lunches, dinner and out of the sun time. Stefan was responsive to questions, check was a breeze. Will book again next year for sure.

We planned this as a family (3 generations) vacation. Check in was seamless, and the wifi was excellent. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and glasses. The ice maker was a nice bonus! We appreciated the room air conditioners which kept the temperature pleasant during a very hot week. One suggestion would be to have blinds on the west facing windows to help keep the sun from warming up those rooms. The beds were very comfortable. Beach access was great. It was an amazing space for a family vacation!

Little piece of Heaven

We had a wonderful week at this cottage! The property was exactly as described—peaceful, clean, and very well-equipped.The lakefront view was stunning, and we spent most of our days kayaking, swimming, and relaxing by the water. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable.The host was responsive and made check-in easy.We had an issue with the septic backing up but it was quickly resolved the next day. We didn’t have any issues using the facilities during this time.The week went by too quickly!

Amazing family beach vacation!

A true cottage with amenities fit for our large family and dogs. Amazing location across from the beach and the best ice cream/coffee shop in the area. We brought bedding and towels and soap+ but most of the items were already there. This is our 2nd time at this cottage and it wont be our last. Fenced in backyard for our dogs and lots of seating in the back by the fire and in the front patio that we spent every night playing cards and listening to the waves. A great host who was quick to answer any if our calls/texts. Thanks for a great trip!

Thanks for a great stay again this year.

We were a large group of 8 which included 2 adults, 3 teens, and 3 kids. There is enough room for everyone especially with the outdoor spaces. The cottage can’t be better located for the beach and kids could come and go as they pleased throughout the day. If you hit good weather this is a great vacation! We easily biked to the main road in the morning. The ice cream next door is pricy but delicious. Stefan is always super responsive.

Our 3rd summer here but it will be our last. The cottage is in a great location - across from the beach, ice cream next door, meats & more small grocery store a short walk, main strip a 10 minute bike ride - but the septic almost ruined our week. We couldn't sit outside for 3 days and after it was cleaned, the flies made it impossible to enjoy time on the patio. We spent the majority of our week between the gorgeous beach and swatting flies. The septic guy told us he visits this place weekly!! They will need to fix this before i step foot in this cottage again. It's really unfortunate because they upgraded the couches, put AC units in almost every room. It could be a great cottage but needs help. Hoping we can come back again one day.

Our Stay at Seagulls Nest

We really enjoyed our stay at Seagulls Nest it is ideally located across from the beach which is a huge convenience. The views from the front deck are beautiful. The main floor is very inviting. Lots of space and very airy. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds were all very comfortable, the master bedroom is very large and comes with an ensuite bathroom. The areas that could be improved would be the outdoor seating specifically the seating around the fire pit. I would recommend this property.

Sauble Sunsets never disappoint

This is one of our favorite beaches in Ontario and this cottage was perfect for our group. We were two families with various adult children that joined us throughout the week. The best thing about this cottage is its location to the beach - it is just across the road. There is a great covered patio area out front that we had dinner at every night. We spent time at the beach, or playing games and visiting with our families. The cottage is as advertised. Our week was very warm so the cottage could benefit from a few more fans - but a sunset swim cooled us off for the evening. We would come back again.

Amazing family vacation!!

We couldn't have found a better rental for our family vacation. The place is much bigger than we had expected based on the photos. We have 2 sets of grandparents, myself,husband and our 2 kids plus my sister and all 4 of our dogs and we had more than enough room infoors and outdoors. The beach is a stone throw away so we didnt need to pack lunches or drinks as we could just walk back for a snack. The front porch is where we spent every evening playing cards and eating ice cream from the cute little shop nextdoor. The fence in the back had a few gaps for our little dogs but we gound some chicken wire to patch it up. The only real issue we had was a bit of backed up septic but we called the owner and it was fixed before we came back from the beach! We cant wait to go back again next year. Thank you for sharing this beautiful spot with us.

Great location, lacking supplies

The cottage is in a great location - stone's throw away from the north end of Sauble beach which is nice and quiet. We loved being able to enjoy time at the beach and freely return to the cottage if someone needed food or a bio break (super important with kids!)Communication with the host was great leading up to our arrival. They were even kind enough to arrange for sheets for the double bed as we didn't own any ourselves. However, we stopped receiving responses to messages by day 2 of our week long stay.Unfortunately, we found many elements of the listing to be inaccurate. The bbq was unusable given the amount of green vegetation growing on it. The nonstick pans were past their prime so we had to buy new ones along with additional cutlery to have enough for our group. There was obvious water damage on many walls and mold growth in one of the showers that seemed unhealthy. The stair railing / banister was not well fixed to the wall which was a hazard for the young children in our group, as was the fan with exposed blades. We also had to purchase basic supplies like paper towel, toilet paper, tissue boxes and remote batteries which was unexpected.Overall, location was great but should have tempered our expectations on the cottage itself.

Great cottage and location but can’t believe no one has commented about the water.

This is a very nice, clean cottage in a great location. Right across the street from the beach. Far enough from Main St that it’s less busy and the cafe/ice cream/bakery next door is a real bonus. But there are somethings I wished I’d known before I booked. Unfortunately the host didn’t send us the checkin details until just before we were leaving and we didn’t realize we would need to bring all bedding and towels. We had to scramble to get the right sheets/pillows/towels and since we don’t have a king bed at home we had to buy a set of sheets just for this vacation — not a great start to the vacation. The cottage has a water purification system but the tap water really smelled of sulphur and had a yellow colour. This really freaked out the three year old granddaughter during bath time and it’s really not pleasant. It also means that you need to bring in bottled water for drinking. There was no bottled water when we arrived so the first thing we needed to do was figure out how to get bottled water — not the first thing you want to do on arrival. We also had a load of whites get stained yellow/orange in the washing machine so we didn’t use it after that. The wifi is okay but not really good enough if someone is trying to work remotely — for one day it was almost nonexistent. We had two very cold nights (September stay) and the gas stove/heater didn’t work. Contacted the host but in the end it just didn’t work and we were very cold. Maybe they shouldn’t list it as heated if it’s not reliable. When we arrived we saw an oversized flyswatter and thought it was a funny joke. The joke was on us, the shore flies were so bad we bought more fly swatters and fly strips. It became a competition to see who would have the highest fly kills. Maybe this is just a mid September issue? As others have said in their reviews, there is no screen door on the front patio door which added to the fly problem. Also, as others have said in their reviews, for a cottage that bills itself for sleeping 12 there really aren’t enough chairs. We were only 9 and we really couldn’t all easily eat together either inside or out or even comfortably sit around the campfire. I guess, for the price, I didn’t expect these inconveniences.

Lovely beachfront cottage

We were a group of 10 (two families) sharing the cottage. There was plenty of space for all of us and the kitchen was well-stocked. We loved being right across the street from the beach, having our dinners on the front deck and watching the sunsets on the balcony or beach. We had amazing hot and sunny weather but on the downside, found it quite warm in the house for sleeping, although the fans helped. We were surprised that the patio door and some of the windows did not have screens - we would have liked to keep them open to cool the house at night. My only other suggestion would be to install a screen/curtain/mosquito net around the front porch - we used a sheet to keep the sun out while we were eating dinner. Note that it’s about a half hour walk to the main strip. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cottage as a great beach vacation spot!

Incredible Beach House in Sauble North

We love Sauble North for its quiet laid back Beach vibe. This Beach house offered the perfect Sauble North Vacation. It was such a welcoming place. When we first entered everything was fully cleaned and disinfected but not so fussy that the inevitable beach sand on feet is a problem. With a 5 bedroom you need lots of relaxing spaces for people to hang out, this cottage delivers, my favourite the covered front porch with a beautiful view of the water, comfortable couch, dining table and chairs which sat 10 people. It was lovely for evenings with the cafe lights strung around the roof. There is an upper patio which the teens claimed and has relaxing Muskoka chairs and umbrellas and a killer view of the water. The sound of the waves is fantastic at all times from the porches. The backyard is large with a firepit and deck with another table and a lounger. Perfect for stargazing. The Living room has seating for 7 on couches and chairs and a large screen tv. We enjoyed games at the Dining table and the Kitchen was equipped with everything needed for cooking. The beds were very comfortable, many of them were newer the Master was huge. The best part of this cottage was the easy stroll across the street to the Beach. Don't even need to take a cooler as it is so quick to pop back for a drink, a snack or the bathroom. Every night was stop and watch the Sunsets from the Porch. I wish I was still there. The owner was great to deal with and definitely want to rent again.

Great Family Fun

Cottage in great location right across from beach and next door to espressos and ice cream! Doesn’t get any better. Owners very responsive and friendly with super customer service. Wonderful family vacation!

Family Get-away

Such a great place to spend time with our family. The house has lots of space and proximity to the beach was enjoyed. The sunsets are outstanding - whether from the beach or the porch. Ice cream two doors down was also enjoyed by many. A cottage handbook would be very helpful. We have had something similar at other cottages that lists local attractions, restaurants to try, farmer's markets, and excursions suggestions. We lucked into Rustic pizza which was great but having a heads up about the hours of other local restaurants would be appreciated. For example, the local baker only makes beignets on the weekend - would have like to know this......overall a definite hit with all of us.
