Belle maison indépendante du 18Úme siÚcle dans les ßles Scilly, Cornwall

Rez-de-chaussée - majestueuse salle à manger avec table pouvant accueillir 14 personnes confortablement. Il y a un feu ouvert dans la salle à manger, mais malheureusement des problÚmes avec la cheminée la rendent inutilisable pour le moment. Il existe d'autres sources de chauffage, y compris des radiateurs à accumulation dans chaque piÚce. Cuisine massive avec cuisiniÚre de style AGA, lave-vaisselle, lave-linge, sÚche-linge et 8 places assises.

Premier étage - élégant salon avec vue sur la mer à 160 degrés d'Annet à l'ouest à St Martins au nord-est, avec des couchers de soleil spectaculaires de mars à octobre. Chambre double avec salle de bains et chambre simple supplémentaire. Le feu de charbon dans l'étage assis actuellement remplacé par une alternative électrique suite à des problÚmes avec la cheminée.

DeuxiÚme étage - deux chambres doubles lumineuses et spacieuses avec lucarnes sur les cÎtés nord et sud (capacité pour un troisiÚme lit en un). Salle de bain, avec WC séparé.

Il existe une vaste bibliothĂšque comprenant des publications d'histoire naturelle, d'archĂ©ologie, d'art et d'intĂ©rĂȘt local scillionien.

Il y a un jardin privé dans une ancienne batterie de fusils, avec barbecue et accÚs facile à l'estran rocheux.

WiFi, chauffage électrique et draps tous fournis dans le prix. Cependant, le wifi est irrégulier et fonctionne mieux dans la salle à manger.

Malheureusement, nous ne pouvons accepter les familles avec chiens.

Beautiful family holiday home which is spacious, warm and welcoming(thank you Cynthia for being an amazing VRBO host). It was so well equipped plenty of everything needed in the kitchen, lovely cotton sheets, incredible views, sunny garden seating, sunset window views, spotlessly clean(thank you Michael and Kate), eclectic furnishings and paintings connected to the family.Swimming with seals on St Martin was our activity highlight. We enjoyed every day.

Newman House is a wonderful 300-year-old English country house that is perfect for a holiday on the Isles of Scilly.We felt very comfortable in the spacious house, which had more than enough room for the six of us.Everything worked great from the booking and information handover (thanks Cynthia) to the check-in and check-out (thanks Michael).We will definitely come back again, and not just because of the fantastic view.

Perfection

A perfect holiday with friends The position could not be better and the views from the house are spectacular. We enjoyed the garden in the evenings for a BBQ with meats and fish from the butchers in town. This was our second trip to Newman House and we will most certainly returnAbsolutely amazing in all ways

Newman House revisited

This house has hardly changed in the 40 years that I have been to stay in this very special family home.Everything is perfect.The only disappointment was having to pay 50 extra for an insufficient travel cot and ok high chair. I’m sure there used to be a good cot in the house when my children were babes.

Newman House

It is probably 10 years since I was last staying at this property. It is lost none of its magic and charm and Indeed has been upgraded in many ways It is in a great position, located close to the town, but it also far enough away. The views are wonderful. We were seven in the party but there was plenty of space. The caretaker who lives close by, could not have been more helpful.

Perfect location

We stayed at Newman house with an extended family group and it was magical. The location is unique with a garden that includes an ideal spot for wave watching. There is so much space in the property with books and games galore. Our favourite room was the 1st floor lounge and its 4 window seats all providing a different view. The walk from Hugh Town is short but steep so some may struggke. What awyou

A Dream Location for Scilly Exploring

This house was ideal as a base to explore the scilly isles. We are very familiar with the islands and have previously stayed on Tresco and St Martins. The house was comfortable, well organised and equipped. Its location is stunning and very convenient for the Quay. This property is historic and has some of the problems that being old and next to the sea brings with some damp marks on the walls etc. This didn’t worry our group at all. It is obviously a well loved, lived in property. The kitchen has every item you would require to cook properly. The garden has access to a rocky outcrop to watch sunset. We had the most amazing week.

Newman house

Beautiful old house with a fabulous view . Tired inside , kitchen well equipped , lovely comfortable lounge and comfortable double bedroom. Bedrooms upstairs very basic , no wardrobes and only one bedroom had a mirror . Lovely hot water but bathrooms tired with moldy shower curtain . Good base to explore st Mary’s and other islands .

Wonderful spot

A really special house in an amazing location. Wonderful sea views and a great location for exploring the islands as so close to the quay. The house is kitted out really well with everything you might need, the pictures are a bit outdated as they don’t do it justice, the house looks to have been given an update recently with new furniture and carpets. It really is a brilliant place, would highly recommend and Cynthia is a very responsive host. Thanks for having us!

Simply amazing

Its a large house that still feels cosy, with lots of room for the whole family. The location is stunning, you can hear and see the sea and watch the boats come in to the quay. Was everything we wanted, the Everhot oven was a steep learning curve though!

A relaxing week

A lovely old house with a "lived-in" feel. Very well placed for its views and convenient for visits to Hugh Town. Accommodated our party of eight well, including three young children, who loved it.

Idyllic location

Stunning location. We all loved the house - like stepping back in time, full of interesting bits and bobs. Particularly liked sitting at the windows with unbeatable views, playing croquet, bbqs in the garden, and the record player and old records! Might not suit everyone with only one loo on top floor, plus one in the en suite.

Arrived and found caretaker who gave us all info on the property and was available anytime if required. All of us just loved it for its style and character, and would be happy to return again
