Cozy and spacious for our group

We loved the little village and yet we were so close to drive to the beach. Place was very pristine when we arrived. Great price.

The home has been very recently completely renovated. YET the old character elements were preserved, so you get the modern with the quaint French villag feel. Clients also appreciate the grill and terrace at their disposal and the proximity to beach and mountain rivers. Come again soon!

Unique holiday rental in Laroque-des-Alberes

We were fascinated by the local life in the sweet village. Couln't believe we were just minutes from the beach, being set in the Pyrenees foothills. Great help from staff. Nice place to spend a relaxing holiday near Argeles-sur-Mer yet away from the crowds.

Yes, that is one of the things guests love most: this property is not only charmingly restored and fully equipped, but it is tranquil and in a small village without the crowds, yet only a short drive to the beaches.

Formidable vacances dans cette petite maison de village impeccable, acces direct au massif des alberes. Acceuil au top de Martine. Le parking nest pas toujours aisé.

Séjour très correct

Petite maison de village typique, propre et pratique. La literie de la chambre parentale était un peu juste pour les grands que nous sommes (1m80 pour moi et 1m95 pour mon mari) et le sofa du salon un peu désuet mais dans l’ensemble nous sommes satisfaits. La présence d’une machine à lessiver et d’un lave vaisselle est très appréciable.

Bonjour, merci pour vos commentaires très agréables. Effectivement la literie française est mal adaptés aux grands. Concernant le canapé, nous venons de le remplacer par un nouveau, plus grand et convertible que nous attendions depuis 6 mois. Nous espérons que vous allez revenir l'essayer ;-)

late September holiday

LAROQUE DES ALBERES is a wonderful village with steep winding streets, lots of very good bars and cafes. There's also a convenience store, a good boulangerie and a small local market on Wednesday mornings. Parking is often scarce and makes it difficult carrying bags etc up a steep path to access the property. The property itself we found a bit dark and the outside seating area small without any view. The layout is somewhat quirky , there are 2 showers but one is accessed outside the house. The interior (separate ) toilet in particular necessitates a bit of manoeuvring. the kitchen is very well equipped, however it was annoying to discover there were no laundry or dishwasher tablets/liquid. When flying and hiring a car one is not able to bring such things. Martine did an excellent job in meeting and greeting, providing us with a lot of useful information. Never the less we enjoyed our holiday as the weather was good and the area is a wonderful combination of mountains and seaside. l

Lovely village with good restaurants

I have already written a review but it obviously didn’t send! We had a lovely time in Laroque. The situation of the property was lovely with views towards the mountains. I would give the property three and a half stars. The outside area was pleasant but with a rather dirty and old looking cover roped over the top of it. The kitchen facilities were very good although we had to buy dish washing materials. Also it would be good to have a little washing liquid available for the washing machine. There were 3 dish washing tablets - left over by a previous resident - which we used. We noticed that bits of paint were falling off the lounge walls. We cleaned them up several times. The toilet facility in the bedroom area was a bit quirky and awkward and the shower room could be smartened up a bit. I was wakened on the Monday of our stay during a thunder storm with water dripping on to the floor above. I got up to investigate and found that the water was coming down from a beam. I put a pan underneath to catch the water and informed Martine. As indicated previously we really enjoyed our holiday in Laroque and we may return in the future. Martine was very helpful as was her husband. None of the above comments spoiled our stay.

Nice cozy house in wonderful little village

We spent two weeks in this wonderful house in the center of Laroque-des-Albères. The house is well equipped, very cozy and offers enough room for a family of five. The perfect pick for everyone who loves special houses, out of the ordinary. Martine, the neighbour, took care of us and was always available for any questions we had, which was extremely helpful. Laroque is a wonderful little village with a very unique charme, you will find everything you need. We had a wonderful time, but didn't have enough days to do everything there is to do in the region, so we will come back next year.

Really nice and Martine and Jacques were great

Laroque is such a beautiful setting and great for visits locally. The house is beautiful and very well equipped.Just a suggestion as we flew and hired a rental car so our baggage was minimal. Prehaps providing guests with beach towels or even options to hire them?? Would recommend this property

La maison était confortable, tout à fait conforme à la description. Le village de Laroque est très beau, typique et on y trouve tout le nécessaire à quelques pas. Le stationnement est un peu difficile mais on y trouve toujours une place à garer. L'appartement est tout près du clocher alors si vous avez le sommeil léger cela peu déranger un peu." Great vacation home!

If you are looking for a modern equipped vacation home, near the coast, but without the 'mass tourism' of Argeles sur Mer, this is a great choice! Laroque des Alberes is a lovely village to stay: small, quite in daytime but alive in the evening with several nice bars & restaurants. The location of the property couldn't be better, although you should not be afraid of a little walk since parking near the chateau isn't easy. We had a lovely holiday with our 2 kids (5&7 years old) here, thanks to this great home & their lovely owners. Excellent price for this quality.

very nice place

very nice place in the center of an old little town. the house is completely new and very tastefully renovated and equipped, only thing mistakeable: the two bedrooms are not separated! with kind and lively neighbourhood, Guy, the owner is a really nice and generous person. We enyoied our stay very much, sea, hiking and old culture in spitting distance.

So glad you enjoyed this lovely home nestled in this charming village! To be more clear, yes, there are two bedrooms separated by a staircase on two different floors/stories/levels. So, although there is no door at top of staircase they are removed from each other and not adjacent to each other on the same level either. There is also a clic-clac sofabed in ground floor living room if someone wants more privacy. Everything in the home is new and recently renovated for your comfort and well equipped for a perfect stay in such picturesque surroundings. Come again soon! BETH DAMBERGER

Such a paradise

Tranquility in Charming Village

Really can't say enough about these sweet owners. Plus the property was completely restored so it has the original character but fully outfitted now with everything modern. Although you have a mountain village feeling, we escaped several times to the coastal villages and beaches in 20 minutes! Thank you!
