Cloudy Bay Villa is located on a gentle rise over Whalebone Point on secluded south Bruny Island, offering some of the best views in Tasmania. This spectacular two-story house offers visitors a unique experience.
The outlook from Cloudy Bay Villa stretches a full 180 degrees even from downstairs encompassing the distant cliffs of East and West Cloudy Head being smashed by the savage Southern Ocean. Sailing south from here there is nothing but ocean until you reach Antarctica.
The view takes in the spectacular beaches of Cloudy Bay an easy five-minute walk with straight sets of perfect surf rolling onto the shore. On the beach here you can walk for hours: east to Cloudy Corner or west to Conleys Point and the beautiful Cloudy Bay Lagoon. The serenity is almost spiritual there is every chance you wont see another person; just birdlife and the occasional whale.
This beach house is light, cosy, comfortable and welcoming perfect for families, couples or small groups. The view both upstairs and downstairs is spectacular, with multiple living areas and a sheltered outdoor deck on the first floor.
The open, well-appointed modern kitchen looks out to a large dining and living area with a huge dining table. This is the place for long dinners, sharing stories about the days adventures, and the opportunity to relax afterwards in the leather couches in front of the gas log fire.
There are three comfortably appointed bedrooms, with queen beds, their own ensuite bathrooms and the very best linen. Throughout the Villa, timber lining and natural finishes fit with the serenity of the local surroundings.
There is an outdoor dining setting at the front, making the most of the ocean view and the rolling, open grassland leading down to the beach. There is room here for outdoor activities or even just reading to the sound of the surf.
The Villa is located more than 30 minutes from the nearest store, so it is recommended visitors bring their own provisions to make the most of the beautiful setting.

Secluded Paradise

We had an amazing stay. The house is beautiful and stays very warm once heated. Kitchen is basic but functional. Gorgeous walks and awesome how the wildlife just meander along in front of the house. It is all dirt roads and our car is quite scratched from the flicking rocks. Teenagers bemoan the appalling wifi.

Amazing location, cosy and well appointed

Had a wonderful stay, after some minor difficulty locating the entrance. Some minor issues: we stayed three nights but were only given one towel each. Since there's a washing machine we decided to wash our towels - tap leaked water all over the floor, then we discovered there was no mop. It would be great if the main windows facing the bay had some of the salt cleaned off to maximise the view, but not the end of the world. Had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Best views, great property

We were all charmed by the location and facilities of the property. We were kept warmed by the pot belly (wood fire) and air conditioning in the midst of winter. Whilst there was ample cutlery & crockery, we do think the placement of all these (including mugs, cups, saucers) in the kitchen should be re-organised and please do add to it a utensil for simple frying (eg eggs for breakfast). Really impractical for all the crockery, mugs etc to be located under the cooktops. Again, we highly recommend the property.

A slice of paradise we will never forget

The views from this property are stunning - 180 degrees of ocean and sky with crashing surf on distant sheer cliffs - absolutely spectacular. Directly in front of the villa there is a penguin rookery and kilometres of unspoilt beach. We walked and swam the perfect beach every day and saw just one other person. The serenity, beauty and proximity to nature make this one of the most beautiful places on earth. The villa is superbly appointed, luxurious, spacious and comfortable. We did not want to leave. That view will be forever burned into my brain.

Wild and beautiful❣️❣️❣️

The property was more than we expected and the view was amazing!!!!! The facilities were awesome and the bedrooms and ensuite for each couple meant that we all had privacy but plenty of open common areas for wine and cheese platters. Will be back for sure!!!!

No interstate holiday this time

We had an amazing 3 nights away on Bruny Island. The accommodation was even better than we hoped for. Driving to the top of the hill and into "the paddock" seriously tales your breath away - that view!!! The house accommodated all 8 adults perfectly, with a bathroom for each couple. The beds were very comfy...we couldn't have asked for more 😊
