If we could give 6 stars we would! Lovely cottage that's an old school B&B - friendly owner-manager, classic country cottage, very clean and well appointed, with all the features you need for a weekend or longer in Barmera. We could have easily stayed another week. Highly recommended, thanks Carolyn!

Crossfield cottage is simply gorgeous. We loved our stay. We enjoyed discovering the many old and interesting items throughout the house and gardens.

Never to be forgotten

Everything about our stay was perfect. From its quiet location to its breakfast provisions, from its period decor to its all mod cons, it could not be faulted. A stay in this accommodation is worth a trip to the Riverland in itself.

History and accommodation in one!

The cottage was a tidy and comfortable stay with the hosts providing many little unexpected extras. Most fascinating is the history on display in the cottage and the way the hosts have used this history throughout the cottage. I'd recommend a stay!

Beautiful cottage in peaceful location.

Our stay was comfortable. The property was clean and well equipped with food, toiletries , even down to chocolates and mints in each room. The cottage was full of character, homely and peaceful. We will highly recommended to others and would definitely stay again.

Gorgeous history

Luxurious, generous, comfortable & modern conveniences wrapped up in a fascinating piece of history. We love it so much we have stayed here twice! So peaceful and close to all of the Riverland’s delights. Carolyn & Mark are wonderful hosts.

Work trip in the Riverland

Crossfield Cottage for us was ideal! We really enjoyed the outdoor living spaces and having breakfast provided was a real bonus. We were 3 unrelated adults visiting for work at Berri Wine Estates, just 7km down the road. I highly recommend and can see myself visiting again soon with family

Beautiful cottage with character

Our family stay over Easter created special memories. The cottage was situated in a beautiful quiet location offering an interesting history. It had everything you needed and we enjoyed warm nights by the fire. There was a plenty do and explore.

Cottage with character

Had a lovely stay in the Riverland. Great location. The cottage is pretty, with lots of character. Carolyn made us feel very welcome and there was some yummy Easter treats for us too! Thank you, couldn’t feel more at home!

A delight

Lovely furnishings, beautiful garden. Delightful sitting out on the front porch on a winter day. Really appreciated the fire when we arrived and the breakfast. Can recommend a sunset walk around nearby Lake Bonney.

We loved our stay at the cottage, we didn’t want for anything. It was just a short drive to Barmera. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle to spend some quiet time this is the place to go. We will certainly be back at a later date.

Very clean and tidy property. very quirky, loved all the little decorations inside and out of the house. Lovely house. Carolyn and Mark are very nice, more than happy to help you. Make a booking now you will not be disappointed.

Peaceful pastoral

Enjoyed a fabulous Christmas break at Crossfield Cottage. The house is gorgeous and appointed with plenty of modern comforts, as well as an array of intriguing artefacts in honour of its history. Best bathtubs ever! Carolyn is an excellent host, very patient and prompt to reply to my many questions. Highly recommended place to stay in the beautiful Riverland.

Family time

The hosts were very hospitable and when there was any issues they were immediately onto fixing things. The main beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning efficient even on a very hot weekend. The retreat room is best as a room for just that, if being used for sleeping it’s good to understand that it comes off another bedroom (no independent access), & of course a sofa bed not a regular mattress. However the cottage is well equiped and in a good location.& very comfortable

Just gorgeous

I booked “my boys” this accomodation for the Field days they were both very impressed . Probably a little too “posh” for them but very well presented . Awesome place with gorgeous amenities and style . Beautifully comfortable . Wine ,cheese and breakfast supplies tasty . I would love to go with my husband away from work ….perhaps some romance . Charming and peaceful

The house can be split into bedrooms, so if you are a couple, and don’t need additional bedrooms, then this may work for you. Functional kitchen, outside modern laundry, beautifully appointed en suite bathroom in the main bedroom, and comfortable lounge with open fire if you need it. Very private back entertaining area with bbq and outside bath, although sadly, it was a little cold for us to enjoy. Seamless check in with good communication from owner. Lovely and quiet, peaceful, beautiful gardens you can wander through, or sit on the front verandah with a glass of local wine and watch the birds and bees. You will need transport, Barmera is very close by with the beautiful Lake Bonney, drive to Berri and Renmark and visit the local wineries. In all, just the place to chill out and relax in a beautiful region…
